The Foundry F12 subwoofer's wireless transmitter uses high-resolution A-to-D conversion to digitize the analog signal, which is then transmitted wirelessly and converted back to analog at the receiver; this digital transmission process maintains signal transparency with minimal latency (approximately 2 milliseconds) and a frequency response extending up to 30 kHz, making it functionally equivalent to a direct wired connection.

Wireless transmitter for subwooferAdded:
Roy from Lovettsville writes to me, "Paul, explain the range and frequency response of your wireless receiver for the Foundry Subwoofer. I did not see any description of its performance and since you alluded to it during the introduction of the subwoofer, it would be helpful to provide a description during your YouTube discussion and on the website." I apologize. I thought we had done such a thing and since I'm primarily responsible for the website, it's all my fault. And if if you're around my house, if you're around here, everything's my fault and that's okay.
I don't care.
So, it's completely full range. It's Oh good goodness, it's got um a delay of we call it latency of about 2 milliseconds, which is nothing.
You would wouldn't even notice it.
It is capable of up to about 30 kHz, which for a subwoofer is ridiculous.
It is What else can I say? I mean, it has 110 dB of dynamic range. It is perfect. It's going to send everything over. So, the one thing to to know about the Foundry Sub is we take the analog signal that you give us.
Let's just take it on its most basic application. Okay? So, in its most basic application, you would take the high-level outputs from your power amplifier, from the back of your speakers, and you'd run it over to the Foundry Sub. Okay? Now, that's the output of the power amp and that is what we call the high-level signal. And you can do it from your preamp or from the power amp, okay?
That goes into the Foundry. At that point, we digitize it. We have a very uh high-resolution A-to-D converter on the input. We digitize it. That allows us to run it through all the DSP, the digital signal processing, which you've got an app on there, and you can uh all the stuff you can do with this is amazing.
And it's it an extremely high-quality A-to-D, so you'd never hear the difference if if if you couldn't if you get what I'm saying, because it doesn't degrade the sound whatsoever.
And that DSP takes care of all of the EQ and whatever else you would need, and volume and all that, okay? So, by the time it gets into the 1,000 W amplifier of the subwoofer, it has been digitized, and then we run it through a high-end D-to-A converter, and we get the subwoofer signal. So, the reason I'm telling you all of this is because the transmitter has that same A-to-D converter in it.
So, whether you do it at the transmitter and then send it over, or you do it at the input to the power amp, there's no difference whatsoever.
Zero. I mean, it's got the same everything. It's just here or here. And once you digitize it, you can send it all over the world, and it wouldn't change anything. That's, of course, the nature of transmitting digital stuff over the the internet or anywhere inside of your room. So, yeah, it's it's absolutely transparent and highly recommend. It's all we use. I I Why would I hook wires up to the thing? Just plug it in. It's wireless and it's cool.
Okay?
Great question. Thank you.
