Hydrogen peroxide is no longer the recommended emetic for pet poisoning; instead, pet owners should contact Pet Poison Control first to determine if inducing vomiting is necessary, as some toxins and foreign bodies can be dangerous to induce vomiting for, and veterinarians can safely administer emetics through injections or topical solutions.

Pet Poisoning? DON'T Use Hydrogen Peroxide! (Vet Advice) #shortsAdded:
And some people reach for hydrogen peroxide as an emetic.
And um many times in veterinary medicine we do not use hydrogen peroxide anymore as an emetic. Um there are certain toxins and things like that that you actually do not want to induce vomiting.
And so my suggestion to you is if you feel like your pet has ingested a toxic substance to go ahead and call the pet poison control. Um I will link in the description box a couple numbers for pet poison control here in the United States and they're a great resource to see whether or not induction of vomiting is necessary and they may refer you to an emergency clinic to have that done um either via an injection or topical solutions that we can use that will induce vomiting safely. Um there are some um types of foreign bodies and things like that where inducing vomiting is actually contraindicated.
And so um I would withhold hydrogen peroxide unless you're specifically advised by pet poison control or a local emergency facility to do that. And so hydrogen peroxide is not the medication of choice for inducing vomiting.
