The robotic mower evolution will eliminate the HUMANS in lawn care forever!!

[00:00:03]Do I think these robotic lawn mowers are going to put the regular landscaper out of business? And the answer is yes and no. This technology is is is is going to happen regardless of what you try, what you say, or you you try to figure out where to stop it. You're not going to stop the robotic mower revolution. Now, me being a person who has lawn care business, I haven't used any gas equipment on my yard in probably about four or five seasons. And I haven't said that come fall, I will have to pull out the zero turn or the junior run it over to mulch up the grass.

[00:00:46]Excuse me, mulch up the leaves. But if I didn't have leaves, we don't use it.

[00:00:52]The robotic lawn mower keeps it at the same height. Now, have I been using the robot mower that long? If you've been following me over the years, you've seen where I had the first um Landroid, then I had which guy called the Chewie, had the second one with division, we called it um Wall-E, the third one.

[00:01:10]And I'll show you the third. It's more messy in this garage, still cleaning it out, but it is what it is.

[00:01:16]The third one right here was uh Freedom.

[00:01:19]And Freedom is still working. All of them are actually still working.

[00:01:23]Freedom is actually I'm going to put that on another lawn. I'll talk about that more.

[00:01:29]Um and that's the >> garage.

[00:01:30]>> Now, we have the uh iPilot 276 right here. We call this one um Optimus, like Optimus Prime.

[00:01:41]And I'm just going to be real with you.

[00:01:43]Yeah, it's it's a real strong chance that this will start to be used more on homes. Now, having said that, I haven't mowed my yard but literally in about 2 years using these um the Crest models.

[00:02:02]Um but, me and my man Jason was talking this morning, too, about um the robotic lawnmowers. He has one. He got a landscape company, but yeah, he got a robotic mower out there doing his. He has a a mower uh golf course one. I can't think it's a 237 23 three, one of those models. But, long story short, yeah, it gets the job done. One of the issues with the with the people don't understand robotic lawnmowers are that they think that you can just stick them out there when the yard gets out of control. It doesn't work like that. Robotic lawnmowers, you got to let them mow on a consistent basis. Now, one time my wife said, "Hey, it's just mowing too much."

[00:02:48]And I think a lot of it came from her just getting tired of seeing it. But, you can change the times that it mows.

[00:02:55]You can have it mow literally in the middle of the night, and nobody would never know when when you cut your grass.

[00:03:02]But, do I think that it's going to replace a lot of the landscape jobs? No, it's it's not cuz a lot of people just they refusing to to to accept it. But, I will tell you this, there is a such thing as a gas 21-in lawnmower.

[00:03:21]When I go in the Home Depot and Lowe's, and I'm talking about the average consumer guys, the professional guys, stay out of the comments.

[00:03:28]When you go in there, that's all you see.

[00:03:31]When I'm out cutting people lawns or having their yard service, and I look around, I see somebody servicing their yard, it's there's a 70 to 80% chance that they're using a battery-operated weedeater, stick edger, and lawnmower.

[00:03:47]All right? When you use those products, you got to you got to use them a little bit more. Now, the cost. Yeah, the cost is going to be what it is. It's going to be high for the early adopters or investors.

[00:03:59]Um the batteries are the main part of all that. Especially with a battery lawn mower where you can keep move in interchange the batteries.

[00:04:07]These that I think you get by so many cuts, so many hours on that one battery, and it is so slowly starting to degrade, but that's with anything, guys.

[00:04:17]Gas lawn mowers, they they tear up over time. Yeah, you do have people who have lawn mowers that lasted 15, 20 years, but I'm not talking about the anomalies. I'm talking about the average person, but those those lawn mowers, they tear up a whole lot faster because of the services, oil change, blade change, air filter, spark plugs.

[00:04:42]Um sometimes they make these newer gas models along with some of the batteries have the the dedicated blade that you can only get from that manufacturer, and you may have to end up using that one forever, so the cost could be a little bit more. Blades are not $5 and $10 no more. Blades are on the average of 18, 20 bucks.

[00:05:05]Cheap blades, you probably can get them there. Blades are not All blades are not the same. Just because they're sharp doesn't mean that it's going to last forever or something like that, or it's going to give you a a better cut. May not even give you a worse cut, but it's just the quality of the material. So, do I think that these battery robotic lawn mowers are going to take landscaper jobs? When I first started my robotic lawn mower adventures 5, 6 years ago, you guys would laugh.

[00:05:36]You start looking at Instagram and on YouTube, you seeing them more and more people, I'm going to call them influencers cuz they really don't use them, but you're starting to see a lot more people talk about the robotic lawn mowers.

[00:05:51]So, it's not just when it's going to happen.

[00:05:55]It is going to happen. Eventually, this is going to become the norm for most people that have lawns.

[00:06:02]All right.

[00:06:04]I can tell you the savings right off the bat. With my robotic lawn mower, I no longer have to worry about >> [sighs] >> um oil changes, fuel filter changes, um really storing anything, the gas, all that stuff. I got to still put it up. But, I just don't have those issues anymore.

[00:06:22]Um I don't have to sit out here like today, you know, almost 100° weather, feels like 100° weather. I'm not worrying about that.

[00:06:30]Even my lawn mower really doesn't have to worry about that cuz I can change the time that it mows. It can mow 2:00, 3:00 in the morning. I'm not disturbing anybody.

[00:06:38]Um the my yard have a Bermuda grass, and normally this yard right here with the regular lawn mower, I just say 21-in, not a not a 36 or 52, it takes me and Junior probably about an hour 25. That's hour 25, hour 35 to do the the mowing, the trimming, and the hedges. Now, what has happened is it takes 15, 20 minutes, and we only come out here maybe two times a week and do what we got to do.

[00:07:15]So, I got a lot of my time back from that, which can actually give me more time to go and try to figure out ways to service other people's lawns.

[00:07:23]So, yeah, I'm considering putting a robotic lawn mower on somebody's yard.

[00:07:28]But, there's there's problems that come along with that.

[00:07:31]Um if it's shut down, you got to try to figure that out.

[00:07:35]Um you don't want the customer calling you complaining, "Oh, the lawn mower is not working." And all this that. Um fifth, they do have things on it that can prevent people from stealing it.

[00:07:48]I take that back. It's not going to prevent them from stealing it. They will steal it, but if they steal one of these Kress robotic lawn mowers, it's a brick.

[00:07:56]It can't be used. Once you take it out the geo fence, that's it.

[00:08:01]It's only going to be reactivated with you. They don't have a charging station, none of that stuff. And it has shut down protection, which means this.

[00:08:10]If they steal it, and they try to cut it off, if they don't have the PIN code, they can't cut it off.

[00:08:16]Now, if they go smash it to pieces, of course, but then that defeats the purpose of trying to steal it and sell it for some type of money.

[00:08:24]Um so, once the word get out that, you know, stealing a robotic mower is useless, you'll see less and less of that happening. I don't really know anybody getting them stolen, mainly cuz a lot of people don't have them. But, where I stay at, I don't have that issue. Now, if it's in a gated community, this probably ideal thing. Only thing I suggest is you get one, try it out. If you're going to try Kress, that's fine.

[00:08:46]You're going to try them in Mo Show, all these other brands, that's that's that's okay, but understand this on this channel, I literally have walk you through everything.

[00:08:57]Uh programming it, um mapping it, cuz the new ones, you don't need the dealer to come out and map map it. All you need to do is go to the dealer and buy one. You can't have it ordered and have it shipped to your home. You got to go to the dealer, buy one, let them make their little money.

[00:09:13]You can come home and map it yourself without consequences.

[00:09:19]Um it takes, depending on the size of your yard, literally, you can open up the box and map it right out the box.

[00:09:24]It's that simple, guys.

[00:09:26]Um one thing things that you do need to know about is the blade interval interval of changing the blades. The The models, the iPoll has a feature on the app that shows you the the hours worked on that particular blade or blades.

[00:09:44]All right. Um the blades are not just exclusive to that lawnmower. You can order these blades off of Amazon for 10 bucks, 12 bucks, depending on 20 bucks, depending on what you want to spend on it.

[00:09:58]Um it's just a lot of features and a lot of benefits of owning one, but the peop- people who don't own one, they always assume and start trying to get other people to believe what they believe and they haven't tested the product yet. This one I've tested them. I tested it. You seen it, guys.

[00:10:20]I mean, I've tested it so much, I don't know what else to tell you other than to get one. The price, they have different models. Um mine is one of the higher end models. It's two-wheel drive. I think it can cut two and a half acres 10 amp battery.

[00:10:33]Um it can cut parallel, um horizontal, checkerboard. You can cut diamond patterns in it.

[00:10:42]Uh has rain detection. The newer models, the iPilot has AI detection AI on it. In other words, when you first get this robotic mower and you put it on your yard, I'm telling anybody that buy one, you may have a couple of hiccups because your AI is going to need time to figure out your yard. Now, having said that, don't keep putting stuff all over your yard and trying to make it a one of them little dog obstacle courses for your robotic lawnmower.

[00:11:10]Any robot lawnmower is going to work best when it just has a clear path.

[00:11:14]If you don't have a really flat surface or you got a gravel that it got to travel between, they do have the iPilot in the four-wheel drive. I got the two-wheel drive model, but they do have a four-wheel drive model also.

[00:11:28]So, just like now, I don't my own lawn.

[00:11:33]Um I got the robotic doing all the heavy lifting and I might if I had to hire somebody, the only thing they going to come out do is probably two times a week.

[00:11:43]It's probably just the the edging and the hedge trimming. I want my hedge trimming done every 2 weeks because we no longer have that that worry about cutting grass all day or whatever on my yard. So, I do think eventually it's going to happen. I I think it's a lot of people that's resisting it.

[00:12:03]They don't want to believe it, but it's no different from when Bill Gates um not Bill Gates, um what's his name?

[00:12:12]Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone and he told people uh internet, uh music, and video all on the same device with no keypads. Nobody clapped. He said it a couple more times, people start clapping cuz they was like, "Yeah, that's not going to happen." And now everybody every phone you got is touchless.

[00:12:35]Not touchless, it just doesn't have a keypad on it.

[00:12:38]And the touchless versions are coming.

[00:12:41]This AI stuff is going to happen. These robotic lawn mowers are going to happen.

[00:12:47]If you ever come to the city of Atlanta, we got the Wave Mo um which is like um I forgot what kind they got Volvos or whatever, they robotic taxis. And there's another service that has one, too, that's not more of a car, it's more of a minivan. Um even downtown, they got the little robotic lawn mowers that pick up your food from whatever store, fast food that you ordered from, and it would drive it all the way to your apartment or where a meeting spot where you can go out there and get it. Open up the robot, put push in the code, open the robot, and get your food.

[00:13:22]Um it's going to happen. And if you're not going to be a part of it, you're going to be left behind. That's the only thing I can tell you. Even with me trying to show you guys the battery equipment, this and that, a lot of you guys were laughing and oh, it's not going to last long. It's not going to last long. Just depending on what you were using. A lot of people was comparing that battery stuff to home on a battery. That I don't use home on a battery products out in the commercial field. I use commercial battery products.

[00:13:49]And once you learn how to master them, it's over. For you guys who going to go in and say, "Well, but a battery costs four, five hundred dollars." It is what it is, guys. A brand new car costs more than a used car.

[00:14:02]A brand new car, to me, is just a whole lot better. I know some of you 1969 and 72 Chevelle driving guys in looking at this and you'll disagree, but get your wife a brand new car and you still got that old car and see that she go back to that old car. She's not.

[00:14:20]She's going to She's going to keep driving new. Everybody likes new.

[00:14:22]So, battery is the future. You don't have to believe it, but it's going to happen. It's going to happen slowly.

[00:14:30]Um with gas prices still continue to go up and down, up and down, uh I'm just going to be real with you. I mean, to put a hundred dollars in my tank, if I if we go out and service like we supposed to, two times a week, that adds up, guys. It adds up and it it starts to make you think more entrepreneurial. Like, how can I get off the battlefield in in into the the the red room or the decision room and make the decisions and let everything else go about doing it.

[00:15:03]People use AI to upload videos.

[00:15:07]All right. So, it's going to happen. So, to answer your question, will the robotic lawn mowers take over the landscape field?

[00:15:19]Eventually, it will happen.

[00:15:22]It will happen and it's going to happen at a rate that you won't be able to stop it. And for those you guys who sitting at home you know, bragging about I'm over 40, 50 yards a a day or something, that's fine.

[00:15:35]But it's it's not going to be about that no more cuz the physicality is going to wear you out and these new guys, these younger kids don't know how to mow lawns, guys.

[00:15:45]They don't know anything about it.

[00:15:47]So, when you do get the robotic lawnmowers, guess what that does? Create jobs where you now you got to hire somebody to be able to go change these blades and keep up with the maintenance of the lawnmower. That's a job created where you seeing a job loss.
