Trump Claims Iran Agreed to no Nuclear Weapons Amid Reports of 'Tougher' Terms Sent to Tehran

[00:00:16]>> Media reports, [music] including from the New York Times and Axios, said the updated framework is being considered by Iran, [music] although details of the proposed changes remain unclear. Any adjustments to the deal could delay efforts to reach a final agreement aimed at ending the Middle East conflict and [music] reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

[00:00:31]Trump says stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons and reopening [music] the blocked Strait of Hormuz remain key priorities for any agreement. In an interview broadcast on Fox News, he said Iran had agreed to the condition that there would [music] be no nuclear weapons. However, Iranian officials have previously rejected or questioned US claims and say [music] significant differences remain between the two sides. Tehran has also demanded the release of $12 [music] billion in frozen assets before moving forward on substantive negotiations and has dismissed claims about destroying [music] its enriched uranium stockpile as baseless. Iran has also insisted that Lebanon be included in discussions related to ending the conflict [music] while fighting continues in the region.

[00:01:12][music] Trump also said he was not in a hurry to finalize a deal suggesting that other outcomes remain possible if negotiations fail. US officials, including Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, have [music] also indicated that military action could resume if necessary.

Meanwhile, Israel has expanded military operations in southern Lebanon issuing [music] evacuation warnings and advancing ground forces beyond the Litani River according to its military. Lebanese officials have accused Israel of [music] pursuing a scorched earth policy and have called for an immediate ceasefire while indirect talks between Israel and Lebanon continue.
