Sofie’s analysis skillfully strips away the fantasy spectacle to reveal a bleak study of how the pursuit of power inevitably erodes the human soul. It is a sharp reminder that in Westeros, the ultimate cost of the crown is the total loss of one's moral compass.

Oh, that's him, right?
He the hammer.
Taking people's homes.
Seriously?
Oh, [ __ ] I don't like this.
That's Jorah, right?
Oh, oh, yeah.
I don't trust him. God, he looks exactly like Alicent. It's crazy.
He has her hair.
Dealing >> with those beneath you, you must be fair but firm.
>> Yes, sir.
>> It's like a squire.
>> A raven from Storm's End carrying more excuses.
>> Yeah, confirmed.
>> That lack would seal the marriage pact between Prince Aemond and one of his horse-faced Send another raven that he can understand. One may have with drawings rather than letters.
>> [laughter] >> This Ormund guy, seriously. He's savage.
>> A raven from Storm's End carrying more excuses from Lord Borros Baratheon.
>> Of course.
>> A word from Harrenhal.
>> If Vhagar does not come, our defenses will not hold.
>> Do not be disheartened, Daemon. Your brother will join us soon.
>> God, he looks so like Alicent, especially young actress.
>> Why seize Tumbleton? It's no stronghold.
It's a market town. Does he mean to somehow win their support? He dares me to rain fire down on a seat that raised my banner.
>> Mhm.
>> For as long as you remain loyal and useful, you may take your place at my council and retain the title of Grand Maester.
The castle's ravens remain your charge, but the Lady Mysaria must be kept informed of the comings and goings.
>> Ah.
Relics of a dead regime.
God, this small council is very small, indeed.
>> In the meantime, we have urgent matters at home. We have secured some small store of oil for the market.
>> hand?
God, this council is split.
>> Exactly.
>> Name a master of coin. The people will soon discover are lacking resources.
They can blame him.
>> Oh.
Sure.
>> Investigate Ser Tyland Mandelor. He's intrigued me. If he's fit, let the gold be his concern as well as Daemon's.
Mine shall be Ormund Hightower.
I know my >> Of course she goes back to Allison's.
>> Viserys warded your son to him. I've never met the man.
>> I knew him very little a long time ago.
>> He's He sees himself as a scholar. He studies the histories, he collects tapestries, writes ballads.
>> Writes ballads.
>> When we were young, Gwen thought him cruel, but Gwen thought that of many.
>> How is he with Daeron?
>> I think he is cruel.
>> Fatherly, I'm told.
>> He strikes me like the cruel one.
>> How is he with Daeron?
>> Fatherly, I'm told.
>> I don't know about that.
>> I bore Viserys three Targaryens, but with the last, my last, I wanted him to be a Hightower.
>> Especially that he has the hair for it.
>> Seeing now what came of our other sons, >> [music] >> perhaps sending Daeron away was my truest act of motherhood.
>> She's back to >> that bottom. Seeing now what came of our other sons, perhaps [music] sending Daeron away >> Her finger uh >> Though I do not know now what fate that choice has consigned him.
>> I feel like Rhaenyra's style looks exactly like Daenerys's.
Her hair, her outfit, everything about her.
>> He has a sensitivity to odors.
Ormond.
A very strong one.
>> What we're going to do with that?
>> I'm on.
>> Ooh.
>> I'm here.
>> Wait.
Am I hearing breathing?
Is it just the music?
Maybe it's just the music.
>> It depends if Penny touched the dragon.
>> Penny's to touch the dragon, seriously.
>> What's wrong with your leg? You can kill a man of the faith for a few pennies if you wish, though I doubt the gods would look kindly upon it. You don't look like a septon.
>> He's alive.
>> I thought I've heard breathing or something. I was like, is it music or is it him breathing?
>> I know it.
He's alive. He must be.
>> There there, Cregan Snow.
>> I'm here.
>> Let us trouble these good folk no further, hmm?
>> I'm here.
>> Simple.
>> The bond between a dragon and a rider.
>> I know you will not.
>> We must tarry no longer. The danger is great. I am very sorry, but you must accept what is before you.
>> If he says that I that he's alive, then he's alive.
Dragon was here.
Vhagar was here.
Harrenhal is a scary castle.
Not the goat.
>> Where is the castellan?
>> Dead.
>> Slain.
>> And who succeeds him then?
>> Also dead.
>> And who are you?
>> A steward of the sorts.
>> It's the best you can do at the moment.
>> This is the hand of the king. We seek the Prince Aemond.
>> Us, I'm sure do many.
>> God, she's scary.
>> He was here. He seized the castle after Prince Daemon abandoned it, but when he learned that Rhaenyra took King's Landing, he and his dragon fled.
>> When Rhaenyra took King's Landing?
>> I wouldn't know.
>> Oh my.
>> But he was injured. How how did he leave?
Badly injured.
>> King's Landing is fallen.
>> Aegon is dead.
>> And we are here alone, with a meager army and no dragon. We have the enemy just where we want them.
>> Aemon would not desert me.
>> And yet he's not here, is he?
>> It's weird that he's not here.
>> Let us become wraiths.
With fear as our standard, strike from the quiet and the darkness. Our fight will not be clean, but it will be pure.
And it will be free from dragons.
>> Ser Erryk?
>> We'll delay them at most.
>> Not change their course.
>> Perhaps not, but it is as you said, Ser Gwyn.
We must cling to our honor.
Lest we become beasts ourselves.
>> The music. As much as I hate Cole, he sure knows how to do a Shakespearean speech.
Ooh.
Fathers have an maddening capacity to at once inspire and incense.
>> What do you think?
>> Gods, they are incessant. And thanks to Aegon, all the rat catchers are dead.
>> On board ship, we kept cats.
>> Yeah.
>> [laughter] >> Genius.
People are really struggling.
Oh, that's That's small Aegon, isn't it? Right? His body is completely decaying, unlike uh Sunfyre.
>> Day friend.
We seek food and shelter.
Like many who gathered, we are the dispossessed of the war.
>> You river folk?
>> Maybe he's badly injured that he would never be able to fly.
I think he's he's alive.
>> How did you get out?
>> We nearly didn't.
As you can see.
>> [laughter] >> Aegon.
>> We're too many.
>> [ __ ] off.
>> Have some coin.
>> I have some knowledge of herbs and I can read a little.
Maybe you'll be useful.
>> Separate buckets, mix it up, they won't pay.
>> I won't touch the [ __ ] [ __ ] tree.
>> Tangle tongue and mangle face.
>> [laughter] >> Oh, Egon.
>> It's not bad once you get >> You have to play along to stay alive. Oh my god.
>> [ __ ] off.
>> They're showing her a bit too much. I'm kind of worried.
Like something might happen to her.
>> Wait.
I need to inspect the goods.
>> Go fetch some water, sweetie.
>> Come on.
>> Oh my god.
In front of everyone, dude.
In front OF EVERYONE.
>> [screaming] >> [ __ ] >> SO, YOU HAVE MY your grace.
>> Oh.
>> I understand that Sir Alf is to be sent to Tumbleton.
>> He is.
>> If it pleases >> You want to go himself?
>> What's it say?
>> It's like waiting 10 hours.
Oh.
>> So.
He has returned.
>> [laughter] >> Hey, will you want all your friends to be around and drinks, my lord?
>> Cost keeps rising, I can't keep up.
>> Tell them all.
>> For everyone.
>> HEAR THAT? DRINKS FOR EVERYONE!
>> [cheering] >> SHOULDN'T HAVE COME HERE, DUDE.
>> I WAS billetted at the smithy, my lord.
At the smith.
>> He didn't like it.
>> Mayhaps he resents the imposition. Or mayhaps he is loyal to Rhaenyra.
>> Disgusting.
>> Your punishment will fit your crime. You will be gelded, and you will have your own arm broken. You may remain in my service, but trespass again and you will hang.
>> My lord.
>> That was surprising. I didn't expect that, to be honest.
>> Have a maester tend to their wounds.
>> Okay.
>> We must keep a firm grip.
Tensions are high. Lawlessness and disorder claw at our gates.
>> Yes, sir.
>> Why does Jason look like he's scared of him?
>> The seven are as intrinsic to the Hightower fabric as, well, dragons are to House Targaryen.
>> Ooh.
>> Control? I think not. The faith is too proud to allow such influence.
>> Mhm.
>> If I may be so bold to ask, your grace, does it matter? Your grace sits the throne. Your people have welcomed you back.
>> it does. It does matter. She needs to be seen favored by the faith, too.
>> But to remove him altogether would surely incite the faith and therefore the faithful, unless you were considering a more permanent removal.
>> I'd have thought you so bloodthirsty or what.
>> [laughter] >> The veil.
>> Time heals even the deepest of wounds.
>> I am most delighted to return, my lady.
>> And who could have ever failed to be charmed by your warmth?
>> The moon door.
>> A less forbearing person might have seen the crown's offering as an insult.
>> is a pledge.
>> It was my understanding that the war was won. What need does she have of more soldiers?
>> The truth >> We need gold.
>> Prince Daemon Targaryen, standing in my high hall, a beggar with a tin cup.
I never thought I'd live to see such a sight.
>> A gift of gold would offer you the benefit of my speeded passage.
>> [laughter] >> Very well.
Okay.
Just smack him with his glove.
Oh, can he sense ship sealer?
Well, he's not obeying at all.
He's taking him to ship sealer.
>> [laughter] >> They went to his dragon. This better be worth it. Dragon is like, it's worth it, believe me.
>> [laughter] >> I love it.
>> REVEAL YOURSELF.
>> WOW.
So cool.
She's living with the dragon in a cave now.
She's slowly going wild. Just like a dragon.
She cast a spell on her hair.
>> Fed him sheep.
>> I fed him sheep.
>> Rhaenyra believes this dragon and his rider are the reason.
>> What's he going to do? What is he going to do?
>> A Targaryen without a dragon disregarded or or worse, pitied. Come back with me then to King's Landing.
We will speak to her together. We will tell her it was a mistake.
>> I ever stand before her again after what I have done?
>> I think this is one of few times you see Daemon showing genuine emotion.
>> You asked me to deceive her. That is betrayal.
>> I have asked you nothing, father, in all my life. I ask this one thing of you now.
>> Rhaena, Rhaena.
>> Oh, what's he going to do?
Gosh, she's still is scary.
He was like You really trust him all.
Who was that all?
Syrax is even though he's one of the, you know, the most bonded of all dragons. Like he's so in tune and sync with with with Damon that is crazy, but still has moments where he does his own thing and Damon can't do much, but go along with it. It's very clear the dragons are partners.
>> My prince.
No.
>> USELESS CRAVEN.
>> [screaming] [groaning] >> THIS IS A KID WHO HAS BEEN ABUSED.
OH my god.
>> [screaming] >> Damon knew that this is about to happen.
>> [sighs] >> That's it.
Fixing his hair, okay.
>> Your uncle Gwayne has sent word.
>> [laughter] >> It seems your brother Aemond will not be joining us after all.
>> No telling how many crash outs this boy has witnessed and he looked scared. He looks He looked afraid. And the immediate composure after that >> Gwayne is coming to Tumbleton.
We must alter our scheme.
>> Go back to Sniffling.
>> Sir Otto wrote diligently to Ormand.
[snorts] Naught was returned.
>> Are you sure there's been no error?
Nothing?
>> Weird.
>> South White is still without, your grace.
>> Oh, uh >> Oh, he's so funny.
>> Your grace, I'm honored to be in your service and to have sworn my life to your cause.
>> What does he want?
>> As your grace's humble servant, I might petition for your favor favors.
>> Favors?
>> Speak them.
>> We don't have to go into that. And passage to >> These favors are not in your name.
>> No, no, your grace.
They're for allies from a tavern I frequented frequented.
>> Oh my god.
>> If an agent of the Hightowers knifes you in your belly as you fill it with ale.
>> Yeah, it's not that sort of place.
Besides, it's it's my belly.
>> [laughter] >> It's my belly.
>> Should something befall you or your belly, I suffer the loss of a dragon and the unity of the realm is threatened.
No, you shall frequent taverns no longer.
>> Rhaenyra is giving off total mom vibes here. Seriously. [laughter] Why she's totally grounding him.
>> Where? You will remain except when you are escorted to the >> Ground him.
>> at Tumbleton. If that is all, you may go.
>> And he looks shattered. He looks absolutely shattered. It's like his entire world came crumbling down. It's great how they're trying to convey how or to emphasize how both of and you are very confused, you know, when trying to navigate that position as a new dragon riders of Moond and Hill. But one thing I know was being stupid, but I feel like the way Rhaena treat them, like she treats them as, you know, weapons, assets, you know, of the crown and stuff. So, I'm like she might have to try to treat them as people with their own agency because she needs them more than they need her. Maybe have them be taught how to be, you know, knights, proper knights, proper, you know, dragon riders.
>> If my wish could be believed, Rhaenyra sits the throne.
And you have no dragon. She did us a favor by declaring me dead. And dead?
Slain by your brother Aemond. [ __ ] kill her. [ __ ] kill her, the [ __ ] There's much to learn from the chatter in this camp. Anonymity is a boon for us. It will ensure that your eventual resurrection becomes the stuff of song and legend.
>> Can he hold on to that? Like seriously, can he?
>> Outrage.
Is this how you rule? Running out OF FOOD? ANSWER ME.
>> UH-OH. AEGON.
>> Let's not be hasty. On your knees if you want to live.
Take it back. Or die. I don't care which.
But you will call me my lord.
Janos. You as well.
>> Oh, god.
>> I've been justice.
I've been vengeance.
>> Daemon.
>> What is this? The one who rode Sheepstealer along with 10,000 golden dragons from Lady Jane Arryn.
>> I'll wager you think you're clever, don't you, Mandaley? You should know I'm the clever one around here.
>> Mhm, the beta male.
>> Our soldiers need to be paid and more recruited besides, else there will be bedlam.
>> Your grace, bedlam is assured if the people feel the crown ignores their anguish.
>> Has anyone considered a tax?
>> Clear the room.
>> Yeah, yeah, he just brought a a head like that, tossed it on the freaking table, and told her about justice, like care to elaborate, please?
>> Who is he? And how did he come to claim a wild dragon? Was he alone? Or is is he allied to Dana?
>> He chose to protect his daughter, though.
First fatherly thing he ever did, though I feel like it's she's going to find out, and yeah.
>> I wanted to see him. I wanted to look on the one who killed my son.
>> To punish him yourself?
>> Grey Worm didn't actually kill him, but the guys have heard he was dead.
>> The gold you brought will provide arms for the small folk. The city watch trusts you, you will entreat them to be patient.
>> I do like that she's, you know, prioritizing the small folk, but I'm also scared of the gold cloak and the nobles, and you know, I they're going to turn on her, you know what I mean?
>> When what you've wrought comes falling down about her ears, she'll return to her senses.
>> Whose head is that?
>> She knows. It's like she's his personal lie detector or something. Always clocking his nonsense.
I put Elena struggling.
That you said it this on our own.
>> I have dispatched good men to see your father's remains delivered to Old Town.
Viserys would have wished it.
>> Wait.
She's pregnant.
>> Helaena.
>> How long has it been?
>> It must have been just a couple months.
Showing a little bit.
>> Oh, wait.
Oh my god.
>> Is that Vermithor?
>> Did she know that her husband is a dragon right now?
Uh, I don't think this is what she meant by, you know, find the ones responsible.
WHO JUST RANDOMLY >> PATIENCE, my girl.
It won't be long before we can fly again.
>> He looks such a sweet kid, unlike his brothers.
Maybe it was the right, you know, decision to send him after all. He seems to be a good kid.
>> I have warned you against indulging in affection for that beast.
>> Oh, she hates you.
Oh, wow. She Oh, oh, she If she doesn't like him, it must be for a good reason.
>> With dark spells, they created abominations to subdue what was rightly ours.
We are the superior men.
But against that, we could not stand.
>> I don't think he just abuses the kid physically, but he abuses him mentally, too.
>> The gods have put you to divine purpose, my boy.
>> What purpose, sire?
>> He wants to put him on the older throne.
>> Your brother's lost, but you remain a Hightower, raised in the shadow of the Citadel and the light of the Starry Sept.
Now, >> I know what >> you must be king.
>> He wishes to be a shadow king, just like Otto, attempting to rule from the shadows. Must be a Hightower trait.
>> You would not wish, surely, for me to turn cloak against my brothers.
>> You will restore our ancient order.
Victory will be ours. It is the will of the gods.
>> How do you know?
Did the gods speak to you?
>> Honor, wisdom, justice.
>> He only acted when our man attacked a woman.
>> He laid hands on a Hightower. That soldier is an extension of you, of the crown.
>> This is his true colors.
>> Justice must be done.
>> Is not mercy a kingly virtue?
>> That sounds like something your father would >> This guy is a psycho.
He can't stand up to him.
Can I have him do it?
He's a psycho.
>> I have risked much and more to raise you up.
>> Oh my god.
>> Surely you do not wish to disappoint me.
>> Oh my god.
>> My prince.
>> All right, he's not strong enough to stand up to to him. He's >> I have a family.
Please.
>> [screaming] >> He wants to have him where he wants.
>> And now we begin.
>> Even though he's a psycho, I think he's a good villain.
The show kind of needed the character like him. He definitely sees himself as superior. What a crazy person. Like watching him you see the psychotic rage bubbling under the surface at all times.
You can tell that there are has a good heart. He's a good kid, but it was it was a good thing that he was raised away from the political scheming from the Red Keep and all the betrayals and stuff.
But it's such a shame that he was brought under Orman. Like seriously.
He's manipulating him, using him. What a shame. Anyways guys, great episode.
Really loved it. Thank you so much for watching after my reaction and see you in the next video.
