[00:00:11]I mean, I am sitting here staring at my screen, rewinding this summer preview promo over and over again, and my jaw is literally on the floor.

[00:00:22]We are talking about two massive, earth-shattering shocks. Chelsea Kiriakis is kidnapped, and Stephanie Johnson, yes, our sweet, supposedly rational Stephanie, is out here pulling a loaded gun on an innocent person and actually firing it.

[00:00:45]I am shaking just typing this.

[00:00:48]I've been watching this show since 2015, and I have seen some wild stuff, but this this is next-level crazy.

[00:00:59]Let's start with Stephanie, because I am just so incredibly frustrated with her right now.

[00:01:05]Am I the only one who is completely over her downward spiral?

[00:01:10]I know some people are loving this dark, edgy version of her, but personally, I am exhausted.

[00:01:18]But wait, I'm getting ahead of myself.

[00:01:21]Let's back up.

[00:01:23]We all know Stephanie has been suffering from severe PTSD ever since she was kidnapped and held captive by that absolute psycho, Owen Kent.

[00:01:34]That trauma is real, and I kind of felt bad for her at first, because who wouldn't be messed up after that?

[00:01:43]So, when she asked her dad, Steve Patch Johnson, to get her a gun for protection, I understood [clears throat] the logic.

[00:01:53]I mean, it's Salem.

[00:01:55]Everyone should probably be armed at this point.

[00:01:59]And Steve, being the protective dad he is, took her to the shooting range.

[00:02:05]He taught her the rules.

[00:02:07]He drilled gun safety into her head.

[00:02:10]But then she just throws it all out the window?

[00:02:13]I am screaming.

[00:02:15]The promo literally shows Stephanie pulling a loaded weapon on an innocent person and pulling the trigger.

[00:02:26]You don't just wave a gun around because you're having a bad day.

[00:02:30]I know she's traumatized, but this is crossing a massive line.

[00:02:35]And the fact that she shoots someone who has nothing to do with her trauma, it makes my blood boil.

[00:02:44]The promo doesn't show the victim's face clearly, but the spoilers specifically say it's an innocent person.

[00:02:52]I am dreading the fallout of this.

[00:02:55]Remember when they tried this kind of good girl goes bad with a gun storyline with Abigail years ago?

[00:03:06]It just makes the character look reckless and dangerous, not sympathetic.

[00:03:15]Can we just take a moment to appreciate Jada?

[00:03:19]Because she is the only person in Salem right now with half a working brain.

[00:03:24]The promo shows Jada fiercely confronting Stephanie, calling her out for completely disregarding every single safety rule Steve taught her.

[00:03:34]Jada is furious. And honestly, I am cheering for her.

[00:03:39]Someone needed to scream at Stephanie.

[00:03:42]You can't just play vigilante because your personal life is a mess.

[00:03:47]And Jada, being the stellar cop she is, isn't holding back.

[00:03:53]She is ripping into Stephanie and it leads to Stephanie actually getting arrested.

[00:04:02]The summer preview confirms Stephanie gets arrested.

[00:04:06]Part of me is like, good, she deserves to be in a cell to cool off, but another part of me is devastated for Steve and Kayla.

[00:04:24]Why is Stephanie so completely unhinged right now?

[00:04:28]It's not just the Owen Kent trauma.

[00:04:31]Oh, no, it's the baby mama drama.

[00:04:35]Which brings me to the second massive shock of the summer, baby Kelsey's kidnapping.

[00:04:41]I can't even think about this without getting emotional.

[00:04:45]Joy Wesley comes back to town, drops the bomb that she had Alex's baby in secret, and completely ruins Stephanie's marriage.

[00:04:55]And look, I have opinions about Joy.

[00:04:58]I kind of hate how she manipulated this whole situation.

[00:05:03]She lied about the pregnancy test, left town, had the baby, and then just waltzes back in like, oops, here's your daughter Alex. It is so manipulative.

[00:05:15]But, I also don't want anyone's baby to get kidnapped.

[00:05:20]I'm not a monster.

[00:05:23]The hospital scenes in this promo are absolutely gut-wrenching.

[00:05:27]Joy is completely distraught.

[00:05:30]She is standing there next to an empty baby carrier, just weeping hysterically.

[00:05:36]And I mean, Alex Ann Hopkins is acting her heart out in this clip.

[00:05:42]You can feel a mother's sheer panic and terror.

[00:05:46]She eventually collapses into Alex's arms sobbing, and it just breaks my heart.

[00:05:54]I know I said I was mad at Joey, but seeing her like this, nobody deserves that.

[00:06:01]And Alex, oh my god, Alex.

[00:06:05]Robert Scott Wilson is giving me chills.

[00:06:08]We see him frantically running through the hospital corridors desperately searching for little Kelsey.

[00:06:16]You have to remember Alex's history here.

[00:06:19]Alex has massive, deep-seated abandonment issues because his biological mother, Angelica Deveraux, basically tossed him aside.

[00:06:30]He grew up feeling abandoned, and he swore he would never, ever be that kind of parent.

[00:06:38]Finding out he had a daughter was the best thing that ever happened to him, even if it destroyed his marriage.

[00:06:44]And now, his worst nightmare is coming true.

[00:06:49]His child has been taken from him.

[00:06:52]The sheer panic on his face in the promo is devastating.

[00:06:57]He is in full-on scorched-earth mode, and I am honestly terrified of what Alex is going to do to whoever took his baby.

[00:07:06]He's going to tear Salem apart looking for Kelsey.

[00:07:10]But wait. Let's connect the dots here because my brain is going a million miles an hour.

[00:07:17]Why did Stephanie pull a gun?

[00:07:19]Where did Kelsey go?

[00:07:21]Is it possible that Stephanie, in her totally unhinged, paranoid state, thought someone was trying to hurt the baby?

[00:07:31]Or worse, did Stephanie take the baby?

[00:07:35]No. No. No. They wouldn't do that.

[00:07:41]I mean, Stephanie has been so jealous and insecure about Alex, Joy, and Kelsey forming this happy little family.

[00:07:51]She felt like a total outsider in her own marriage.

[00:07:55]Could her PTSD have triggered some kind of psychotic break where she thought she needed to protect the baby by taking her?

[00:08:05]Or maybe she saw the actual kidnapper, pulled her gun to stop them, but ended up shooting an innocent bystander by mistake?

[00:08:14]That makes so much sense.

[00:08:16]If Stephanie shot an innocent person while trying to stop Kelsey's kidnapping, it would explain everything.

[00:08:25]It explains why she threw the gun safety rules out the window. She was acting on pure adrenaline and panic.

[00:08:32]It explains why Jayda is so mad because Stephanie interfered with a police situation and almost killed a civilian.

[00:08:40]And it explains why Stephanie gets arrested while the baby is still missing.

[00:08:45]Oh my god, I think I just figured out the whole Summer storyline.

[00:08:50]And I am so here for it, but I am also dreading it because it is going to be so messy.

[00:08:57]I know some people are loving this action-packed direction, but personally, I miss the days when Stephanie was just a PR executive trying to live a normal life.

[00:09:09]Now she's a gun-toting vigilante getting arrested in the middle of a kidnapping crisis.

[00:09:15]And what about Alex and Joy?

[00:09:17]This tragedy is absolutely going to push them closer together.

[00:09:22]Shared trauma always does on this show.

[00:09:26]Alex is holding Joy as she cries. They are united in their desperation to find Kelsey, and Stephanie is sitting in a jail cell.
