So we are now at term one week six and [music] still we are number uh with numbers and algebra and for this week we're going to focus on solving problems involving division of decimals and multiplication of fractions. [music] So for our session one we have here our free lesson activity. So for [music] the direction it will be solve each problem mentally. Write your answer on the blank. Okay. So we have here five questions. Okay. And to check your answer we have here our answer key.
Okay. [music] So now for our lesson flow we're going to still focus on solving problems involving division of decimal using our agona steps. So again, so for a what is ask? [music] Okay, identify what the problem wants you to find.
Okay, for letter G, what are the given numbers? So list all the important numbers in the problem. [music] Okay, for letter O, what operation will be used? Identify whether to use division, multiplication, addition, subtraction or combination of operations. Letter N, what is the [music] number sentence? Write the mathematical equation. Letter S, what is the solution? So, solve the problem step [music] by step. And letter A, what is the answer? Write the final answer in a complete sentence.
So, we have here some examples. Okay, we have two examples.
Example one, a ribbon measure measuring 8.4 [music] m was cut equally into four pieces. So, how long is each piece?
[music] So, again, what is asked? It's the length of each piece of ribbon.
G. What are the given numbers? So 8.4 m and four pieces. [music] O, what operation will be used? So it's division.
N, what is the number sentence? So 8.4 / 4 is equals to N. S, [music] what is the solution? So 8.4 / 4 is equals to 2.1.
And letter A, what is the answer?
[music] So each piece of ribbon is 2.1 m long. For example, number two, we have a bottle contains 6.5 L of juice. If each glass can hold 0.5 lit, how many glasses can be filled? So, what is [music] asked the number of glasses that can be filled? G, what are the given numbers?
So, 6.5 [music] lit and 0.5 lit. O, what operation will be used? So, it's division.
N what is the number sentence? [music] So, 6.5 / 0.5 is equals to N. S, what is the solution? So 6.5 divided by 0.5 is 13. A what is the answer? So 13 glasses can be filled.
Okay. For our assessment directions, solve each problem using the AONA [music] steps. So we have here five questions and you're going to use the AONA [music] step. So after each question, we already solved it. Okay?
You can just refer to it. So break down.
So I'll just read the uh problem. Number one, a rope 9.6 m long [music] is cut into three equal parts. So how long is each part?
Number two, a baker used 2.4 kg of flour equally for six cakes. How much flour was used [music] for each cake?
For number three, a car traveled 84.6 km [music] in 3 hours. What was the average distance traveled per hour?
Four. A bottle has 5.5 L of water. If each container holds 0.5 liter, how many containers can [music] be filled?
And number five, Anna paid 120 for 120 pesos for 4.8 kg of mangoes. How much is the cost per kilogram?
Okay, so for our ways forward, we have here read, analyze, and solve. So again, we still have here five questions, but to use the agona steps, no? So we'll just have the number sentence and the answer for each question.
For section two, we have our pre-lessson activity.
Okay. So, still you're going to solve [music] each problem using the AONA steps. So, we have here also the breakdown. [music] Okay. The problem and how do we solve it using the AONA steps.
So, you can just uh refer to it.
So aa steps help [music] us to analyze and understand the problem better. So breakdown for the problem solving. It will be much easier for us to understand and to know what operation will be used okay to solve the problem and it also ask us to answer in complete sentence.
no we need to learn how to answer okay problems in a complete sentence. [music] So for the lesson flow still we're going to focus on solving problems involving division of decimals [music] using our agona steps. Okay. So same with our first uh session.
Okay. Same examples as well.
Okay. [music] So for assessment, you're going to solve each problem using the agona step. [music] So I'll just read the problem. Okay. And you know uh the next thing. Okay.

Okay. [music] Problem using the agona step. So for number one, a 15.6 m wire was cut into six equal pieces. Now find the length of each piece.
Number two, a class collected 360 pesos [music] equally from eight pupils. Now how much did each pupil contribute?
Okay, for number three, a water tank contains 18.9 L of water. If each pill holds [music] 2.1 liters, how many pills can be filled?
Number four, Ben bought five notebooks worth $1850 each. He paid 120 pesos.
[music] How much change did he received?
And for number five, a farmer [music] harvested 25.5 kg of tomatoes and packed them equally into five baskets. [music] How many kilograms were placed in each basket? Okay, for our ways forward, okay, we need to also solve some problems. No answer kaka. [music] Okay.
So we have here questions 1 to 10 and okay you need to analyze and we have [music] here okay soya is right away for number one it's the answer for number two what operation to be used number three it's the number sentence number four what is ask okay for number five it's the solution number six the answer seven given numbers number eight operation to be used number nine the answer and number 10 okay the number sentence okay this time let's have our session three we're going to have a new lesson for session three [music] okay but first for our pre-lessson activity you're going to solve the following problems in your notebook okay for our lesson we have multiplication of numbers combined with fractions s whole numbers and mixed numbers. Okay. So now how do we multiply fractions by [music] whole numbers? So to multiply a fraction by a whole number, multiply the numerator by the whole number. Keep the denominator the same and then simpl uh simplify if needed. Okay. Usually whole number fraction automatically [music] um denominator would be one. Okay. So that's why keep the denominator the same because your whole number for example 4 * 1/2. So 4 will become 4 over 1.
[music] Okay. So of course you will retain the denominator the same cuz 1 * 2 is 2. Okay. [music] And then simplify if needed. Soapagot is improper fraction always um simplify it into um mixed [music] number. Okay. So for example 3 * 2 over 5. So that would be um over 1. So 3 over 1 * 2 over 5. So now let's u multiply proceed to multiplication. So 3 * 2 is 6 and [music] then 1 * 5 is 5. Now 6 over 5 is improper fraction. Now we're going to change that [music] into mixed number. So 6 / 5 is 1. And then um no my remainder one. So that would be the numerator. So that would be 1 over [music] 5. So our final answer will be 1 and 1/5s or 1 or and [music] 1 over 5.
Now for multiplying fractions by fractions. So the steps multiply the numerators first then multiply the denominators and then simplify. [music] So for example 3/4s multiplied to two fths. So 3 * 2 is 6 and then 4 [music] * 5 is 20. So how do we simplify? So we get the GCF or the greatest common factor. Okay. So that would give us 2. So we [music] can divide 6 and 20 by 2. So 6 / 2 is [music] 3 and then 10 or 20 divided by 2 is 10. So that would give us the answer 3 over 10.
Okay. [music] So in multiplying mixed numbers. So change mixed numbers into improper fractions.
Mixed numbers naman. Okay. So or mixed fraction. We need to change this into improper fraction. Multiply to. [music] Now the first thing again is multiply the denominators and then multiply the denominators and then we're going to simplify the answer. So 2 and 1/2. Okay, we're going to multiply it by 1 over um 1 and 1/3. So 2 and 1/2 pan 5 / 2. So 2 multiply the denominator with the whole number and then add the numerator. So 2 * 2 is 4 + 1 is 5 [music] and then copy the denominator. And then 1 and 1/3 4 and 1 4 over 3. So 3 * 1 is 3 + 1 is 4.
So that would give us 4 [music] over 3. So now let's proceed to multiplying the numerators.
>> [music] >> 5 * 4 is 20 and then multiply the denominators. 2 * 3 is 6. That would give us the answer 20 / 6. Now let's find the greatest common factor or GCF of 20 and 6 which is 2. Okay. Now then let's divide both numerator and denominator by 2. So 20 / 2 [music] is 10 and then 6 / 2 is 3. So that would give us the initial answer of [music] 10 over 3. Now so 10 / 3 [music] mixed number. So how many three can we get from 10? So we have [music] three.
No. So may remainder p 1 because 3 * [music] 3 is 9. So 10 - 9 is 1. So that would give us the denominator 1.
And then copy the denominator. So the final answer would be 3 and 1/3. [music] Okay. So for your assessment multiply and write the correct product.
So for the number sentence we have 5 * 2 over 3. Next we have 3 4 * 4 over 5 1 [music] and 1/2 * 3 2 and 1/4 * 2 over 5 and then 3 * 1 and 2/3. Okay. So how do we do that?
So we have here so 5 * 2/3. So a whole number will always have the denominator of 1.
[music] Then proceed to uh multiplication.
Multiply the numerator. 5 * [music] 2 is 10. 1 * 3 is 3. So again improper fraction. [music] Our initial answer is 10 / 3. Now change it into mixed fraction. [music] Okay. So that would give us okay 10 / 3 is 3 remainder 1. Okay. [music] 1/3.
Okay. Your remainder will always be the r numerator and then copy the denominator. So that would give us the final answer [music] of 3 and 1/3. Next is 3/4s ultiplied by 4 fths. [music] So proceed multiplication 3 * 4 is [music] 12. 4 * 5 is 20. So we have the GCF um and GCF is four. No. [music] Okay. Cuz because we can divide both sides by 4.
12 / 4 is 3. [music] 20 / 4 is 5. So our final answer is 3 fths. Okay. Number three. 1 and 1/2 * 3.
So mag change to improper fraction to.
So 2 * 1 is 2 + 1 is [music] 3. Copy the denominator. It's 2 3 / 2 ultiplied by 3 the whole number. So again whole number and denominator will be always 1. Now let's proceed to multiplication. 3 * 3 is 9. Okay. 2 * 1 is 2. [music] So now let's divide 9 by two. How many twos can we have with 9? So four. Now we have the remainder 1 because 2 * 8 or sorry 2 * 4 is 8. 9 - 8 is 1. The remainder is 1. And then copy the denominator which is 2. Our final answer is 4 and 1/2. [music] Okay. For number four, 2 and 1/4 multiplied to 2 over 5.
[music] So again change the mixed fraction to improper fraction. So 4 * 2 is 9 [music] sorry 4 * 2 is 8 sorry + 1 it's 9 over 4 and then multiply by 2th. Now let's proceed to multiplication. 9 * 2 [music] is 18. 4 * 5 is 20. GCF the greatest common factor is 2. 18 / 2 is 9. 20 / 2 is 10. Our final answer is 9 / [music] 10. Okay, last number 3 * 1 and 2/3. So 3 over 1 and then multiplied by improper fraction 3 * 1 is 3 [music] + 2 is 5. Copy the denominator. Now let's proceed to multiplication. 3 * 5 is 15. Then 1 * 3 is 3. So 15 / 3 is [music] 5. So our final answer is five. So we have here okay [music] our final answers. So for our ways forward [music] no so is but I will show you [music] the solution. Okay the stepbystep solution. So first convert again [music] okay you don't forget mixed number always convert it into improper fraction and then final answer is improper fraction always change that [music] or simplify that into a mixed fraction. So an y gag 1/2 and then change you 4 and 4 over 3 into improper fraction.
