WPRI 12 Weather Forecast for 5/27/26: Warm this afternoon, brief shower this evening追加:
Warm out there, [music] T.J. You got the capital city now up into the low 80s.
>> Yeah, low 80s and the humidity a little bit higher than yesterday. I think you'll feel that if you go outside. A lot more in the way of clouds though today, but we are still looking at some sun. Let's take a look at East Providence camera. You can see here we've got a touch of blue skies on the right, but some milky clouds just kind of hanging on overhead. 81° though despite the cloud cover. We're up to 81, 78 in Coventry, 78 Hope Valley, Fall River 76, New Bedford you're at 80. Looking at just this patch of clouds working on through.
they'll thin out a little bit as we go through the next several hours. Probably looking at more in the way of sunshine.
As we go through the day we're looking at temperatures to be climbing through the 70s and likely getting into the low to mid 80s as we go through the afternoon hours. So we're looking pretty good for today. As we go through tomorrow it's going to be noticeably cooler around here in southern New England. So let's get a look at what's going on across the region. We're looking at some relatively quiet weather in Newport as well. Blue skies mixing with clouds 66° and as we look at what's going on in Lincoln similar kind of view. Kind of milky sunshine a little bit more in the way of clouds here. 77 up in northern Rhode Island. A little cooler in Newport you're at 66. Headlines for the next several days. We are expecting warm weather and a little bit of humidity around today. Nothing intense.
Just a little muggy. Brief late day shower or thunderstorm are possible today. Mainly during the evening hours and I really think most spots will end up dry. It's not going to be as warm over the next few days. Temperatures a little bit more closer to normal tomorrow and Friday and pretty far below normal it looks like on Saturday. As we are looking at some cool weather and with the chance for some rain showers.
So clouds will be thinning out over the next couple of hours. You can see the thicker clouds are right overhead right now. Some thinner clouds off to our west. I think we'll be looking at a pretty decent afternoon. So, as we go through the p.m. A cold front is approaching and with that maybe a shower or a brief little thunderstorm and not everyone sees it. Most communities will stay dry. But, yeah, we are looking at the possibility for some raindrops here and there. As we go through the night, skies will be clearing out. Notice the wind direction here. These little wind arrows from the north will tend to bring in some cooler air and less humid air.
Despite that, there's the still the chance of some showers around tomorrow afternoon. It wouldn't surprise me a couple of these showers produce a little bit of small hail tomorrow. As we go through the late afternoon, I think those showers kind of quiet down. Friday looks quiet, but as we look to our north on Friday, we're watching that area of low pressure that actually works its way right across southern New England Friday night and into Saturday. And with that, we'll see showers through Friday night and probably into the morning on Saturday. And with that area of low pressure, it's going to be kind of cool around here. About 83 for a high today with an isolated shower or thunderstorm late in the day, maybe closer to sunset. For tonight, we are looking at partly cloudy skies, lows about 59. And then for tomorrow, we are looking at those scattered showers around midday and through the afternoon, about 73 degrees for a high tomorrow.
So, yeah, a little bit cooler. Over the weekend, yeah, 60s, 60s, 60s for Saturday. Low 60s, Sunday 70 degrees with a blend of sunshine and clouds. So, clearly Sunday is the better of the two weekend days. All right, and stories we're working on new tonight on 12 News starting at 4:00, a court hearing today for a woman accused of killing a man in a hit-and-run crash on North Main Street in Providence. We'll bring you an update on this case then. Coming up at 5:00, we're checking in on some of the residents forced from their homes after a condo fire in North Attleboro earlier in the month.
