Bowie Boom BeesAdded:
It's the evening Killer B Reo Show.
>> Yes.
>> Yeah. Hi everybody. Oh my god, it's like going what? It's going on six.
>> Sheesh. We're in Buoie again. Killer B Nation. Hey, we got everybody piling on.
Hush. Yeah. Got the fam family. Yeah.
Here we go. Another exciting one. What the hell? Uh we're back way back up here in Buoie. It's like 120 mi uh from Bisby and still in Coochis County.
Yeah, it's on I 10 uh straight east of Wilcox. And so we're in the middle of bum [ __ ] out here. We got Oh, you can show everybody the pistachio orchards on one side, pecan orchards on the other, and we're back at the boom at the well drilling rig for Randy. Randy, I know you're watching, buddy. We're going to put the gibbos on these things. This is the weirdest story, guys. Okay, this is weird. Oh, say good afternoon, Hos.
>> Good evening, Hos. Oh, I was wondering if you were going to do that. I was wondering what the hell was that? I don't even know what's going on.
>> It's evening with the killer bee.
Welcome everyone. It's evening with the killer bee, guys.
>> Yes, we're so ready calls me up earlier. I talked to him this morning cuz we got another um wellhead like this one that we, you know, had bees in it and it was that bad one we did where I got stung in the neck. Well, we're going to get together, Randy and his crew and we're going to pull that thing up and I don't know, next week or whatever. Both of us are really busy.
I got a bee in my throat. So, there. So, he calls me up and then a little bit later and says, "Uh, I got bees back in that boom." I said, "Oh, [ __ ] Where is it?" He said, "Back up and buoy." Like, "Oh, Jesus, Freddy." But we guarantee our work, so that's what we do. So, I said, "Wait, wait a minute." He said, he said, "No, we moved it. It was gone for two weeks from this area. You guys, if you weren't with us on that last one where his crew got strung up and [ __ ] you got to see that cuz it was absolutely off the chain. So, they they took this rig somewhere for 2 weeks, not a problem. No bees, not a bee in the damn thing. They bring it back here and another swarm moved right in. Whoa. Into the other end of the boom. So there wasn't even anything residual because they were in the lower end here of the boom when we got rid of them. What is it two weeks ago?
>> Yeah. Just >> some three. I don't know. I can't I can't remember what I did this morning.
>> Uh and now they're in the crown up on top. What? I I'm I'm baffled by all this [ __ ] I don't know what's going on.
These killer bees are totally ridiculous. I mean, I have removed swarms and hives from transfer cases on bulldozers that had a little crack at them. I mean, it just makes no sense.
None of it makes any sense anymore except that again, they kept running his guys off every time they'd fire up the truck, move the boom up, and start running the gear the cables through.
Guess what? Here we are again, Killer B Nation. It's just ridiculous. So, I'm going to put on the big blues, and Hos is going to put on his big blues. He's already got the ladder over there. And we we can't expand and foam anything. We can't seal anything up. There's cables that run through there. I don't two in one. I'm glad you guys are with us cuz this is ridiculous. Red ridiculous. Get it. Just make that.
>> That was good.
>> Yeah. Thank you. Thank you, Clayton. I'm a long one more.
>> No. Yes. No. I'll save it for later.
>> No, really. I'll save it again. No. Do it. You You're being ridiculous. No, I'm I did it. You tricked me. Anyway, that's ridiculous. Ridiculous. I'm going to say that now. I'll wake up at 3:30 in the morning. Funny. I have to pee again.
That's ridiculous. No, I won't get back to sleep. Anyway, so all right. Well, I'm got my big blues on. I'm going to have Hos get his big blues on cuz we don't know what the hell we're expecting here. Yeah, we do. It's always mayhem in hell. Could you bring um the uh Dr. Bag and the Duke tape? I mean, we got to kind of seal them in somehow, guys. Uh well, no. We're going to seal them in.
We're going to kick them out. I don't know what the hell's going on around here. Uh, obviously, so this is the same place that we were. I don't know, whatever the hell it was. And you can see they're working on this this uh irrigation well. It's a looks like a 12 in diameter casing. And uh, you know, they need work and [ __ ] just like anything else does. Look at Isn't this cool, guys? This is a pecan orchard down here in Coochis County. No, this is pistachios. But isn't that just cool as hell? We grow so many pistachios and so many pecans down here in Coochis County.
I guess it's ideal. I don't know. But then again, there's Cenoida and Elgen that are turning into the Napa Valley of the Southwest. They're in Santa Cruz County. It looks like we might be going over there tomorrow. We'll bring you along. And also, we got another call from Armando at um at the uh Forest Service. We got another one for them.
These damn bees. How's that looking?
>> Maybe from the front. Let's put it in the front. push.
>> And that way we can climb up on the cab.
>> And you know, we can put it uh against the the boom there up against the crown.
>> Y >> and right in the middle and maybe up if you put it up more then it'll be stable.
So look at this guys. What the hell's going on here? See I'm right up in this crown. That is totally ridiculous. There are pulleys. There are uh ga cables.
There is grease. I mean, what in the hell?
>> Yeah.
>> Is going on. I I don't even know.
>> Well, it's a bad idea is what's going on >> for the bees. It is. Cuz we're going to That's what I'm saying.
>> Can you run that up one more so we have a little bit less of an angle on that?
>> Yeah.
>> Thank you. I appreciate it. Yeah. Just one more rung. One more wrong. And Randy said that this is a pretty tough old truck, so we can stand on the hood. But where they were before you guys, if you don't remember, was all the way down here uh in this boom up here. All right, you see that right there? Okay, right there, you guys. That boom right there. And they were all the way down here pouring out of the bottom.
Pouring out of those holes. And now there's not a one.
I have no idea what the hell is going on. It's strange, but we have to have you guys along for all of it because that's what we do. And so there, remember this is okay. Now, I don't think I need to tell anybody this on this particular job. This is not a DIY channel. See the rig? No, don't worry about it. I know nobody's going to be [ __ ] around. Here you go, Hos. I'm going to I think I'm just going to go up enough to get on the hood.
>> All right.
>> I mean, the guys are up there working on this thing all the time anyway, you know.
>> Yeah. And so, you know, they got to I don't know what the hell they have to do up there. Something important, I'm sure.
So, I'm just going to make it easy. The Oh, let's see. What do we got here?
Oh, what are you guys doing up here?
Totally ridiculous.
All right. What's going on here? It's giving us something to hang on to, too.
It's kind of a sloped situation. There we go.
All right.
Um, oh yeah, this is a good platform to work from. What are you guys doing?
>> What do they say?
>> I said they don't like me.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, and they don't like me. Hos.
>> Yeah.
>> You going to watch this?
>> Oh, yeah. They're nasty.
>> Step on. Yeah.
>> Yeah. I'm going to come up there a little.
>> Yeah. Come up and if nothing else, hand me the uh Okay. They're mean. I mean, a whole hive. They're They're pouring out of here. My god. This is just stupid.
Uh, just hand me that hush. I'm going to have you hand me stuff. So, hand me the camera from the bottom, please. Yeah.
Grab that and have that so you can grab it. Killer B Nation. I don't know what the hell's going on here. Look at these guys. They're all right here.
>> Yeah. What? What's your uh picture poison?
>> Uh, this is just ridiculous.
I'm going to show you guys a little better. Where the hell? Be patient, Tik Tok. I'm going to show you, too.
in.
>> Look at this [ __ ] They're in the pulleys. What the What the hell here?
Watch this, guys.
Watch this.
Yeah. Yeah. They're I mean, it's got to be brand new. They just moved this rig back. What the hell? Be patient, Tic Tac. I'm going to show you, too.
YouTube.
What? I I don't even know. Can you see anything in that end? Here we go. Please grab this again.
>> I cannot.
>> Thank you.
>> There's nothing in there. kind of weird.
>> Yeah.
>> Working up here. What I'm going to do is uh watch my step, of course, get my flashlight and look in here. See if I can show you guys anything else. This is really baffling to me. Now, they're not a class 5, which is just fine.
Where are you guys? And why, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Not so much the where, but the why.
>> I'm kidding.
>> No, there's nothing there.
Okay. They're down in here.
This makes No sense.
And I can't even There's a cavity underneath here where I mean there's cables. So you Oh my god. This is stupid. You see this pulley here, guys?
There's a cable on that. And that thing spins. These guys right in the mix.
Right in the middle of [ __ ] I I don't know. And they just moved in. So, it's not a class 5, which I'm just fine with cuz hanging on up here for deer life is, you know, awesome. It's just awesome.
Randy, thank you. Couldn't have had them moving the back like before.
Brand new hive, brother. I'm sorry. This is a whole new situation.
We will be talking.
I just I I'm just so blown away by this.
What? I really don't know what to think of it. Well, uh, give me the um Fendona.
All right. cuz does nothing to equipment. Does nothing to uh anything.
You got it?
>> Yep.
>> All right. Thank you.
>> So, and then [ __ ] There's nothing to even really duct tape. My god. A brand new hive in the same boom. Okay. This has never happened. This is total nat geo [ __ ] here. We've got a well drilling wig down here in the wild west in Coochis County in Buoie and a swarm of bees two weeks ago or so, I can't remember, moved into the other end of this boom. So, we treated that.
They didn't have time to build a new comb or anything. And now in the entire other what 20 ft 25 ft or something 30 ft I don't know 30 ft away these bees decide to build in the other end. What the hell attracted them? It makes no sense. There's grease. There's pulleys.
There's cables. This thing moves. The whole thing moves. The whole thing goes up and down. So they can I don't know.
These bees it's like it's like they just own everything. They don't care about my feelings is the problem.
>> Yeah, >> that's what really irritates me. What about you, Hos?
>> Well, yeah.
>> Yep.
>> Well, >> they don't they don't care.
>> Oh, bastards. Kind of awkward place.
>> I don't think they're capable, you know.
They don't have the capacity.
>> Apparently not. I mean, if they're going to care for anyone, it should be us.
>> Mhm.
>> So, I'm trying to see if they have another hole. I mean, this is going to kill them. They just moved in. Haven't had time to do a damn thing.
Uh, I mean, look at all these pulleys up here. Big pulleys, big cables to pull up, you know, 500 ft of of pipe out of the ground and [ __ ] What is it with these guys? My god.
>> Yeah, it's a bad choice. Bees, >> it's just bat [ __ ] ain't it?
>> It's a bad choice.
>> Total batshit crazy.
All right, so let me see here.
Now, I know that they were up here. So, this stuff It's labeled for crack and crevice.
Well, that's pretty good crack and crevice.
>> That's a good crack.
>> I mean, so I can hear them dying in there now. Make it very unattractive for them. And of course, I got to try to make it so that tomorrow the guys can get back on here and, you know, get back to work. Get back to work. Damn it, you guys. Make sure I don't step on anything I don't want to step on.
That made sense, didn't it?
Uh, tell me if this shoots through. I don't want to hit anything here. I don't think it will. No, I don't even know if I'm hitting. All I know is that they're in this little housing of this. This is stupid. Well, stupid for the bees, that's for sure, cuz there's no way. But, you know, these bees, each one's putting out up to 30 hives a year. Yes, I've seen it with my own eyes. And they don't care where they go anymore. There's like not enough room. We're seeing hive swarms moving into new places where old swarms were, but I'm talking exact location, which is guaranteed. If they're 25 ft away, I don't know what's going on. This is so weird. But in where grease is where moving parts are, where I give up. I give up. I don't know what the hell is going on. I guess that's half the fun, you know. Oh, the mystery. Yeah.
>> Oh, the mystery killer. Lot of >> Can you see the camera at all?
I'm just wondering if anybody wonders why we've lost our [ __ ] minds and are up here on this ladder on a boom truck and buoy on a well drilling rig on Thursday. Is it Wednesday? What's a day?
I don't even know what day it is.
>> Wednesday.
>> So, it's getting quieter. So, this hive in here is dead and go n which is Latin for gone.
Here, I'm going to put this back down.
Can you put that back in the doctor bag?
>> Yeah. Do you want any of the others? Uh, nope. Nope.
>> That's it.
>> I mean, that's all we can do.
>> I will uh have have you hand me the the family and I will uh have you go get me a spray adhesive.
>> Okay.
>> Cuz I just want to make sure we leave no bee alive or at least very few.
>> That's going to drop.
>> Yeah. Could you grab that a little higher?
>> There you go. Thank you. Cuz my grip is not >> Yep.
>> I ain't ging.
>> Okay. Are you done with the pesticide?
>> I am done. I am completely done.
>> Are you going to need this duct tape?
No, there's nothing to duct tape. It's so weird.
>> Well, we will spray adhesive it. Hang on, Tik Tok. I'm going to show you there. Okay. Uh YouTube, can you see that [ __ ] What the hell's going on here? This is so bizarre. So, it got quieter. You can hear that. They're still pouring out a little bit. I mean, a swarm. Probably not a very big one, to be honest, guys. They're not scouts.
They're not scouts. There's way too many of them. They're not um See, what the [ __ ] I'm just trying to sort this out.
This is just bizarre. Well, in the meantime, I want to show you guys how beautiful the Wild West can be. So, just hang on to your damn pants, you guys.
Look at that. I don't even know what that mountain range is over there. I think it might be the Palencos. They're quite a long mountain range. And yeah, that mountain range is in New Mexico.
We're not far from the uh border with New Mexico. So, Arizona, of course, borders on New Mexico, Old Mexico, and some other [ __ ] And um Coochis County, where we are, borders on Old Mexico, New Mexico, and a bunch of other counties.
And so, like Greenley and uh uh Santa Cruz, and some of Puma, some others. But Coochis County is huge. Just huge. So, I I'm don't even know what to make. Oh, look at this ho. They're all along, you guys. Can you see that? all the way along the boom. They're sniffing around everywhere. They're wondering what happened. Here, I'm going to hand this back to you, Hos. All right, hold on.
>> Thank you. You got that?
>> Yep.
>> Thank you.
So, now I got to make sure my footing is good here.
>> And get climbing around in this [ __ ] You do this [ __ ] for 35 years. You kind of get used to climbing around and [ __ ] I am going to just knock down these remnants. Randy, I hope that tomorrow you don't see a damn bee. Actually, I hope you never see another bee. I mean, I like seeing your face and all that, but damn, this is getting ridiculous.
New brand new swarm moved in. Not even in the main boom here at all. In fact, they were in the middle boom. I I'm just going to keep rambling. I'm just going to keep blah blah blah blah blah because I have no idea what in the heck is going on. But I am going to disrobe partially for you.
I'm waiting for you to do burlesque at the >> Sorry, guys. Sorry guys. The other I'd like.
>> Yeah, you got a real talent.
>> You've got a real talent.
>> Yeah. Burlesque at the Grand with Reed.
No, no, no, no, no. We'll let the girls do that [ __ ] >> There's a lot of burlesque in Bisby, by the way.
>> Yeah. And like I said, >> no.
Who you got on there? You see anybody?
>> How many of you all would like to see Reed on stage?
>> God damn it, host. Calm down here.
>> Okay. Sorry.
>> That's right.
>> He's not going to. I know.
>> It's perverse. It is perverse.
>> He's not going to.
>> So, they're sniffing all around. All these bees that are sniffing around are It's the same old thing cuz they just moved in here. So, they really have no idea where their front door is yet. That's why. So, I'm standing here. I'm in their flight path where they used to just come in and land. They just moved in. They're like, "I know it's here somewhere." And all the guys were sitting down here going, "Hey, we're over here. We're over here." Well, everybody in here is dead.
And these guys flying around are like confused as hell. Kind of like myself.
And we're just going to knock a bunch more of them down. But what a beautiful evening, you guys. So glad to have the killer be nation with us. I mean, I don't know. This is just stupid.
>> Yeah.
>> I'm really kind of baffled by it all.
Now, see, there's almost no bees up here now. Right.
>> Right. I mean, it's just that this is working really well.
>> And again, a lot of drones.
>> More >> a lot of drones.
>> We have been seeing so damn many drones.
We were wondering about this as because it's going to be mating season with all these bees setting up shop. So, a new queen has to go on her mating flight after a swarm moves in. So, if this swarm would have stayed here, if this hive, I guess, well, the only difference between a swarm and a hive is when they live somewhere. This was a hive, you know, this morning. It was a swarm.
Anyway, they moved in here. There's there was a queen. Um, she has to go on a mating flight. They get established in here and very shortly after they move in, she goes on a mating flight. She No, I'm sorry. This is This is a new hive.
Oh, I'm so confused. Well, it's been a long day. An old queen's been in there.
She didn't have to go on a mating flight. What the [ __ ] >> She's locked and loaded. Yeah. So, but the new queen, okay, so the old hive that this came from, that's where the new queen is. I get my brain snorted out, guys. Sorry about that. Um, so the new queen's in the old hive, she has to go on a mating flight. She will mate with an Africanized drone. That's how your old hive becomes Africanized is mating, crossbreeding usually that way.
A old queen that's already been mated takes off with this swarm to move in here. And that way she's already ready to start laying eggs. She does not have to go dating and bowling and roller skating to find a mate. All right. She doesn't have to go on a mating flight.
It's all ready to go. So, uh I don't know why we're seeing so many drones around new swarms. Makes no sense to me.
So, now the drones are the males.
They're the big ones. You saw in our video earlier, they were on the wall that like God, we're seeing 10% drones >> or more.
>> It's a lot.
>> I mean, there was that one yesterday where it was like >> it's a lot.
>> 80% or something, >> which is indicative, of course. Now, we know they're all Africanized types, but this is one of the delineations, one of the key markers of an Africanized hives is a plentitude of drones.
>> Yeah, cuz they're just reproducing.
I mean, they they all It's like dandelions. All right. Dandelions, you know, you go poof on a dandelion and and you know, a thousand little seedllets take off. One might live, one may not.
That's kind of what these guys are doing. They're just throwing [ __ ] at the wall to see what sticks endlessly. It's kind of weird. I don't know what's going on here.
>> Yeah. Now, drones cannot sting. They do not have stingers. They have an endofalus and that's it.
>> That's my favorite movie.
>> Endofalis. That's wrong.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> So wrong.
>> Blockbuster.
>> Block balluster. Never mind. Never mind.
>> Yeah. Well, >> that was well drilling. Now, a little little known fact or or maybe you know, but once when the drone mates with the queen, he inserts his endalis and then blows up.
>> He literally explodes.
>> He dies and leaves his endofalus inside of the queen.
>> Literally explodes.
>> And she does like what 12 more or >> Oh, she'll do three dozen.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> She'll mate in a like a four or five hour period in midair. Jeez, these guys are weird.
um she'll mate with, you know, two, three dozen and then fly back with all that all that endoalaces and all that sperm in her and lay eggs up to 2,000 a day for 5 years. I ain't making this [ __ ] up. You can look it up.
I mean, it's just total ridiculousness.
>> And one of the really trippy things about it is she can internally select.
Yes. out of all those dicks she's carrying around inside of her, she can she can internally choose >> which DNA to express for survival of the fittest.
>> She she selects which >> but she can select mainly male or female, >> fertilized or unfertilized.
>> So she can lay an unfertilized egg. So people would say so gives a [ __ ] right when you make an omelette. No, an unfertilized egg, whether she lays it or a worker bee, these guys lay it, uh, a drone is born, a male is born from an unfertilized egg. They got a word for it. I don't know what the hell it is.
It's science fiction.
>> Yeah.
>> And the female, the queen is the only one that can lay fertilized eggs. I know it's sci-fi. I still I didn't I'm just observing. I don't know what the [ __ ] I didn't make it up. It's like It's just bizarre. So, we're really cutting down on these remnants, which there weren't many to begin with, to be honest. And I'm glad they didn't light up too much, but I think I think that's about it.
Hos, >> that's about it.
>> I think we got Well, guys, you want to go down so you can uh >> Yeah.
>> feel better about life.
>> I'm going to do it from up here cuz I'm just so adventurous.
>> Killer B Nation, we love you guys. You bunch of characters. You remember, not a DIY channel. We love you. Yes, we do.
I'm Reed Booth. Uh we're we're going to be heading back. It's been a long day.
We got more coming tomorrow. We have to go rescue the Forest Service. I don't even know some other shenanigans. Right, guys? Be safe out there. Uh, you know, just treat each other right and have a great evening, everybody. I love you.
Oh, you got anything to say about big ass well drilling rigs with second hives 30 feet away. Why?
I don't know if I can remember all that but >> why why is what I what is the takeaway there just >> you retained why >> just why now now listen here in Coochis County actually in Arizona 100% of the feral unmanaged honeybee hives are Africanized that way here since 1998 if you've got honeybees coming and going off of a piece of equipment here you're in Coochis County give us a call we'll come take care care of it. Don't try to take care of it yourself. These things are so deadly. They're dangerous. They kill people. They kill pets. They kill livestock. And they're bad for the ecosystem. They compete with native bees for resources. They push 98% of the native bees out of whatever area that they are occupying.
They're really bad. It's it's it's nothing to you know, you don't you don't want to no sympathy for the devil here.
Okay, guys.
in Coochis County. Give us a call. Never relocate a feral honey beehive. Always exterminate feral honey beehives.
Let's save America's native bees. We'll see you all on the next
