[00:00:16]And I do enjoy ranking K-pop discographies, but this is not a ranking. Normally you would get an ITZY ranking on a Monday.

[00:00:25]Uh however, this is a reaction because ITZY has a brand new album out. I think there's eight cuts on it. The album is called Motto. We're going to be watching the MV for the title track.

[00:00:45]No further ado, I I will pause the video. I will talk over the video. I might even sometimes play into this thing if I feel it's necessary. Uh otherwise, the chords will be over my head. For those of you keeping score at home, here we go.

[00:02:06]Sounded like right there when we were getting into I think was it a pre-chorus or something like that? Uh, sounded like we went to B major.

[00:02:15]When you go between uh, different qualities of chords on the same root, we usually call that modal interchange, and that's what's happening here. Uh, we've been centered kind of around the key of D or the key of B minor, and suddenly we're now in the key of B major, and it really brightens things up, right? So, let's check out uh, what Yuna does with this.

[00:04:40]>> [music] >> Oh, I love that. They went to from the E minor to a B flat major 7 because I think Yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh to a C and then to a D major 7, which is I think the first time we've heard a D chord in the whole thing even though uh most of the song has been pointing towards D.

[00:05:06]Um very cool. Very cool.

[00:05:11]I want to hear that bridge again.

[00:05:47]I guess it's his vocals always are kind of clear and clean, but it it just seems like with all of the fast syllables and everything, it would be really hard to do.

[00:06:40]Um I really like this song.

[00:06:43]The production is excellent. Uh it feels like everything fills your ears. Most impressive is the is the vocal performance. The the cleanly the the clear clarity clean, which I guess you expect from all K-pop idols these days, but it just Those syllables sounded really hard to put together. I wouldn't be able to do it. And uh I'm just amazed at the talent that JYP has over there.

[00:07:14]They just had a great release with uh NMIXX.

[00:07:18]And now uh you know, their stars are coming back.

[00:07:25]Hopefully NMIXX will be stars for them, too. Um well, I'm sure obviously I've had a lot of fans stop by to watch my NMIXX reviews. Hopefully uh the ITZY fans will come out for uh for this, and and we're going to do the rest of the album review on Wednesday.

[00:07:46]Um I'm not going to do the full album right now uh just because I need time to, you know, kind of figure out how I'm going to schedule this in. We're already canceling Blackpink and Itzy's regular rankings today so that I could just do this.

[00:08:03]Um and Wednesday, I think I have open to do this. And then Friday, we've got a Le Sserafim release. Uh so we'll be using Friday and Saturday to cover that.
