High-performance wheel manufacturing requires the integration of advanced CNC machining technology, specialized workholding systems, and precision engineering to produce components that must withstand extreme conditions while maintaining aesthetic excellence; companies like Super Alloys achieve this by utilizing hundreds of CNC machines with specialized hydraulic clamping systems and continuous process optimization to deliver precision components for top automotive brands.

World’s Largest Manufacturer Runs 600 CNC MachinesAjouté :
Oh man, we are in Taiwan and we're about to experience a manufacturing facility that literally machines the greatest rims on the planet for all the top cars.
Super Alloys, baby. Boom. Let's go check them out. Super Alloys started back in the 1990s. And like most great companies, they didn't just start at the top. They built their way into one of the hardest industries in the world, earning trust step by step until they became a tier one supplier. Within a relatively short period of time, they were supplying some of the biggest automotive companies in existence. And from there, they just kept climbing.
Today, they produce hundreds of thousands to over a million forged wheels every year. The first place that we actually walked into was their showroom. You're surrounded by wheels that look more like artwork than components. The finishes are flawless.
The designs are incredibly complex. And every single one represents a combination of engineering and craftsmanship at the highest level.
These are not just machine parts. They get bolted onto cars. They are critical components that have to perform under extreme conditions while still looking absolutely stunning. We have been in collaboration with Super Alloy over 25 years.
>> How many different locations?
>> Four.
>> So it's basically our biggest customer with the most number of units in Taiwan.
Very grateful for Super Alloys support.
We've been working with them, listening to how they want to machine better.
>> Mhm. So it's uh they've been very gracious to give us a lot of feedback and improve the performance of our machines especially him.
>> Yeah.
>> He likes to abuse our machines. Every year they ask, "Hey, how how can you improve cycle time?"
>> So that's all coming from Mr. Cow.
>> Oh man. What's up, brother? How you doing?
>> Good. So we're over in Taiwan and you actually you machine rims for a living, huh?
>> Over at Super Alloys. And then you watch the channel uh on Titans of CNC.
>> Yep.
>> Super good.
>> Very good. Very good. You can learn more.
>> So good. And then uh you're actually on the video now.
>> Oh, thank you.
>> Hey, >> good job, man. Boom.
>> So, you got the headquarters over there.
So, when we're in the room and you see all the rims, that's where you're at.
But then this is uh the manufacturing plant on this side. Just one of the manufacturing plants. They actually have several all over Taiwan. Check this out.
So, you can see you can see this rim right here. It's painted beautifully.
So, what they're doing on this line is they're actually coming in and machining the paint off it to give it that beautiful machined texture right there.
So, like the service finishes are absolutely incredible. Now, watch. I'm going to show you something. This is like really cool. So, we're going to go here.
YCM machines all the way down.
Absolutely incredible. So these guys have a great partnership with YCM and uh they've purchased over 600 YCM machines.
Top level machines like three axis, five axis, just incredible. And uh this is how the best rims in the world are made, baby. And one of the things I'm so impressed in Taiwan is seeing these companies. They just have hundreds and hundreds of machines and some of the machines are 20 years old. They just keep running and running and running like they never stop. You ask anybody that runs YCM, these machines don't break down hardly ever. Now, now we're like we're lucky today because they actually let me see inside the machine.
One of the most important talents that you have to have in manufacturing is fixing and workholding. like the ability to outdate the competition. So, when it comes to rims, you want to make sure that it goes on quick. It locks down quick. It will not move. So, what they have here is they got hydraulic clamps that are specially designed for these rims. You can kind of see the the diameter right here. You got three of them bold all the way through. And then YCM has an M code that basically you hit that M code and it locks down the hydraulics, locks down the rim, shuts the door and it rolls. They also have a manual button you can press for the hydraulics to close it or open it.
Really cool. Visiting Taiwan has been such an amazing experience. Gina and I did not just visit factories. We experienced the culture from eating amazing street food to sitting down with leaders in manufacturing and having real conversations. And then when I went to the TMTS show, I was truly humbled. I had the honor of meeting the president of Taiwan. Not only did I meet him, but we actually signed shirts. I gave him a signed shirt and he signed a shirt for me. and instead of taking over the microphone, he actually asked me to speak to the crowd about the importance of manufacturing. Knowing where I come from, this was one of the true honors in my lifetime. At the end of the day, what stood out the most is behind every incredible product, behind every high-performance car, behind every perfectly machined component, there are great people and companies pushing the limits every single day. companies like Super Alloy who have quietly become one of the best in the world at what they do. And that is what manufacturing is all about. So the next time you see a Ferrari pull up or a Rolls-Royce drive by, take a second look at the wheels because now you know there's a story behind them. A story of precision, scale, and worldclass. A story of people and manufacturing at the absolute highest level. Boom.
