[00:00:00]A program director at Texas A&M's Bush School of Government also currently serves on an advocacy committee for an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League, a taxpayer-funded lobbying organization.

[00:00:13]Derrick Farrell runs the Bush School City and County Governance Program, and he sits on the advocacy committee of the Texas City Management Association, which is part of the TML. The advocacy committee describes its role as seeking to, quote, "facilitate membership involvement in the Texas Municipal League legislative process." While the TCMA serves a variety of support functions for TML's taxpayer-funded lobbying efforts, it does not itself engage in direct lobbying activities. It is worth noting, though, that abolishing taxpayer-funded lobbying has been a long-standing priority of the Republican Party of Texas.
