Uh welcoming you to the divine mercy prayer meeting with our beautiful online family that joins us here on Zoom and those also on YouTube Rumble and X and our apostlate Mother of Mercy messengers. Uh we are with the Mary and fathers of the immaculate conception and we hold this uh prayer meeting divine mercy prayer meeting and holy hour uh from the 1st through the 9th each month.

[00:00:36]>> You know it was in 2012 right after Pentecost that we ran across the places in the diary where St. Fina was told to to make different novenas for her country, to pray for her country because of its sinfulness and because of its um uh ingratitude and things like that. And we thought, "Oh my goodness, uh we should we should apply this to the United States." So as we were traveling across the country, we would talk about it and we came up with the prayer cards, the different novenas, the litany of the saints. She was told to pray the chaplet, make a holy hour for nine days, receive holy communion. And then when the uh lockdown happened and we couldn't travel so much, uh we started meeting like this via Zoom. So we started that in January of 2020. And every month for the first nine days, I think we just didn't do it one month because of Easter or something, people have been gathering together. And look what's happening now.

[00:01:32]This May, President of the United States is going to rededicate our nation to one nation under God to make that proclamation.

[00:01:42]Our prayers are being heard. Our bishops are going to consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. There's all kinds of things happening. Roie Wade was overturned in the Supreme Court. And I can go on and on. You know, our borders were safer now. We've got a great guy in um I I love uh uh what's the name?

[00:02:06]Robert Kennedy. Is it Robert Kennedy?

[00:02:08]Yes.

[00:02:08]>> Junior.

[00:02:09]>> Helping with with our our food and our and our medicines and all that and getting all of it straight. And so I want to thank all of you who have been so faithful joining us doing whatever you can doing these novenas meeting together in prayer either here through the live streams or our zoom recordings or I know a lot of you are in Eucharistic apostles cynacles you are in other prayer groups you are you are devoted you're praying the rosary you're teaching catechism confirmation all those good things and taking care of people at home and today that's what we're going to focus on as >> I just want to say Joan you know for me uh every time we start this meeting and people you know come in you lovely people come in I I just this feeling of consolation just comes upon me no matter what's happening that day it could be a day you know that I'm very you know stressed out about this or that or you know things are tough or or whatever but it's just this consolation our ladies consolation comes to me >> and so we've had a wonderful lineup of speakers this May. It's been incredible.

[00:03:21]And um so we're going to wrap it up here talking about the works of mercy. And one reason is because the bishops in preparation for the consecration, a lot of people don't know about it, but uh we talked about it the other day uh with Moren Flynn that they've also asked to prepare that we spend 250 hours or a parish or a group in adoration. Well, our group is because we have we've been having about 100 150 people join us via Zoom and live stream. That's not the recording and we're doing a holy hour.

[00:03:56]So uh and then 250 hours of works of mercy to really be putting our faith into action. And you know that's one of the things that Jesus told St. Fina.

[00:04:07]Yes, I'm giving you the feast of mercy but there must be deeds of mercy. And if you can't do a good deed you can always pray. So um what we're going to do and we're running a little late. We're going to go through the works of mercy, but looking at them close to home. So, we're going to start with first feed the hungry.

[00:04:30]So, feed the hungry. A lot of times people think that this needs to mean uh going to a food pantry. Um maybe even assisting in a hospital or something like that, but uh we had this wonderful guy call one time. He goes, you know, feed the hungry close to home is speaking to families. You know, preparing good meals for our loved ones, taking the time, eating dinner together, watching what we feed them, you know, good wholesome meetings, meal, good wholesome meals.

[00:05:06]You know, with our busy schedules, I know it's real easy to put like toaster waffles in or, you know, prepared foods and we're learning that these are not really the healthiest things for us. Our kids are as sick as ever and obesity is a big huge problem. So maybe this is a time to relook and see what am I feeding my family? How am I preparing? And are we eating on the run? Are we sitting down and having time and having conversation? So, feeding the hungry and also being open to friends, family, neighbors who um would love a home-cooked meal. Also, maybe your priest.

[00:05:47]>> So, that's uh number one, feed the hungry. Dave, you want to go? Number two.

[00:05:53]>> Number two, if is uh give drink to the thirsty. Um so again uh you know it's not often we come across somebody that is uh uh you know dehydrated uh and and needs water. it can happen. But so, but there's many people that are thirsting, you know, for love and attention. And it's just having the uh the attitude of wherever we are, you know, in the doctor's office and and someone comes in, you know, just to uh to um exude like a pleasant uh atmosphere and to uh maybe say a uh you know, some small talk >> in your voice >> to to someone that uh might be lonely otherwise, >> right? uh a word of encouragement.

[00:06:48]Um again, thirsting for love, thirsting for attention. Be open to that. The third is clothing the naked. And again, a long time ago, you know, there were and there still are. There are people there are kids running around Africa. My brother visited. He goes, they run around naked. They don't have any clothes. You know, they're they're completely comfortable that way. But of course, a lot of us donate, go through our closets, our kids grow out, our grandkids grow out of things. But one of the things to remember, I know that um Mother Teresa had said when you give something away, make sure it's good quality. I remember one time our church had a big garage sale or, you know, rummage sale and people, it looked like they were taking stuff that had been in their garage. It was moldy, mildwy, stained, torn.

[00:07:34]You know, that's not right. Treat people with dignity. So also taking care of our things, taking care and teaching our children to take care of their clothing, their belongings, their toys, their their things just to appreciate what we do have. Um, so that's what we came up with. Oh, and one other thing is a lot of times people are naked because they've been embarrassed, right? They've something's happened that they've been humiliated or embarrassed. And again, being sensitive to that. Don't add to it. Don't conel joke about, you know, how someone was embarrassed because they're caught and not spreading gossip also um because someone's something's been revealed about them, right? That that's really private. So being more cognizant of that.

[00:08:28]>> And uh the fourth is uh to shelter the homeless.

[00:08:33]And uh so you know home is where the heart is and uh >> well you would always say home is where the wife is as we'd be traveling. But I interestingly our pastor gave a homaly the other day about home. He said he's from Poland. He goes when I would go home my mother's in her 90s. He said and she would always have potato pancakes ready for me. And I would come and she would be in bed and she goes your potato pancakes. They're in the kitchen.

[00:09:01]They're ready for you. He goes, "Well, my mama passed away and my brother moved into the house and is and the house is all the same. You It's the same furniture and everything else." He goes, "But there's no potato pancakes anymore."

[00:09:15]My mom isn't there anymore. It's not home. It's my brother's home now. He goes, "But it's not my home because that love is missing." And there are a lot of houses that are not homes because there is no love. So we want to be on the lookout for that and helping homes houses to become homes. One of the first things I think we can do is make the Holy Family a place in our homes for the Holy Family.

[00:09:47]Even if it's a little holy picture, something in in Our Lady of America, they ask for this. Our Lady asks for the Holy Family to be honored there. So make a place like this. Look for help for neighbors and families to help their home. Um, be well taken care of.

[00:10:07]Sometimes it might mean mowing somebody's lawn. Those of you up north, shoveling snow, maybe picking up trash, pulling weeds, making that house a home, taking good care of what we have. And um, one of the best things is maybe also uh, with the Lord. Oh, that's the next one. That's visiting the imprisoned. So, you know, uh you could consider uh adoption. You know, that's uh an orphan is is uh >> Oh, yeah.

[00:10:38]>> in a way homeless. You know, they may have they may live in in a home or uh >> Oh, well, we had Elizabeth Rex. We talked about the orphans that are out there. And I know a lot of you are really inspired. We can make this more known >> that these homeless children deserve a home. encouraging people to consider embryionic adoption and and those that have embryos that are that are frozen to consider putting them donating them for adoption and putting them up for adoption. So, we'll be talking more about that as the months go on. I did just get some pamphlets from Dr. Rex about it. I haven't really had time to look through them, but um that's a really good work of mercy, I believe.

[00:11:22]So visit the imprisoned you know and uh Jesus has said I don't I can't reme remember exactly where but uh sometimes it's like for him in the tabernacle uh can be like a prisoner. Oh, sister an Ali. He says it over and over and over again >> because nobody goes to see him, you know. And you you can go to adoration in your parish where the uh you know the monstrance uh Jesus is exposed in the monstrance and it's uh uh adoration in that manner. And you can also go and sit before the tabernacle uh and uh and be with Jesus. you know, we can just be with him like you're at, you know, stand at the foot of the cross uh as he's giving his his last breath.

[00:12:15]>> And being in prison doesn't necessarily mean people who are incarcerated, although being open to that, writing letters to people who have gone to jail for one reason or the other, but also we know as we know several even in our group, a lot of people they're shutins.

[00:12:32]They can't get out. look, you know, wheezy's paralyzed from, you know, top down and she can't get out. So, being open, writing them a notes, making a phone call, visiting them, um, stopping by in the hospital if you're going to visit someone that you know, a friend or family member in the hospital, maybe saying hello to some other people, you stick your head in, just open to that, to the loneliness that's out there.

[00:12:58]Comforting the sick kind of goes the same way, but as we know and um we had Chrissy share with us the other day and Peg also sickness comes in lots of different packages when people are physically ill. Uh like Evan's dad right now is in the hospital because of a bladder infection, you know, or we've got pneumonia or you maybe have the flu.

[00:13:19]But a lot of times the most difficult uh to be patient with and to comfort are those that are suffering from some kind of a mental illness or depression.

[00:13:29]Um or those that are carrying old wounds and we want to be careful. Don't push the buttons the things that you know that are going to upset them. And don't bring up old stories. And you know, I I I know there's something that happened to me when I was a kid and every now and then my brothers and sisters bring it up and they laugh and it hurts. I'm like, I don't like that story. Don't don't say it, you know? So, um, speaking from experience, it's something silly, but, uh, they know it bothers me, but they're just having a laugh, and I probably do the same to them. So, we all want to try to comfort the sick. All right. And last but not least, >> bury the dead.

[00:14:14]>> So, of course, we know funerals, having masses said, visiting visiting the um the cemeteries and all that, but Dave, you brought a very good one some about burying. What?

[00:14:27]>> Well, it has to do like, you know, withholding grudges. you a family member or something that you've had difficulty with and and uh perhaps they've passed away and uh you know you need to uh forgive them.

[00:14:41]you know, we're forgiven as we forgive >> others and uh just give it to Jesus >> and confess that, you know, go to the confessional and say, you know, I've uh I've always had a difficulty with my dad or or who you know, a cousin or or whatever, you know, and it's very and you can confess that, you know, it's very difficult for me to uh forgive them in my heart. And so, you know, you can say, "I'm confessing that sin that I have difficulty forgiving them." And uh you'll be granted the grace to forgive them.

[00:15:17]>> Amen.

[00:15:17]>> One day you'll be sitting there and you go, you know, I don't have that hard feeling in my heart anymore, you know?

[00:15:23]>> Yeah.

[00:15:24]>> Cuz God is good all the time, >> right? Bury the past. Bury the past. Go forward. Forgive and go forward. and the Lord will certainly reward you for doing so. Great work of mercy. All right, everybody. So, we've kept Jesus waiting.

[00:15:41]Lord, we're sorry.

[00:15:43]We were talking about Magigoria before and uh we're looking forward to this time of prayer with you. All right.

[00:15:54]>> And so, to put our hearts in the right place, we make an act of contrition. Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you. And I detest all my sins because of your just punishments, but most of all because they offend you, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve with the help of your grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasions of sin.

[00:16:24]>> And now the unity prayer. My adorable Jesus, may our feet journey together.

[00:16:30]May our hands gather in unity. May our hearts beat in unison. May our souls be in harmony. May our thoughts be as one.

[00:16:42]May our ears listen to the silence together. May our glances profoundly penetrate each other. May our lips pray together to gain mercy from the eternal father. Amen.

[00:16:57]>> And we remember those who have gone before us.

[00:17:02]>> As we prepare to enter the chapel here in Vius, Lithuania, where it will be a little bit past midnight.

He descended into hell. On the third day, he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

And we like to say it's again um thinking about our families, taking care of our families, being patient with our family members, especially the elderly and uh the infirmed. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

[00:28:11]The third joyful mystery is the nativity. Our Lord Jesus is born at midnight in Bethlehem in the piercing cold. A tiny baby lying in a manger wrapped in swaddling clothes. Fruit of the mystery is detachment from the world, spiritual poverty.

[00:28:32]Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

I am not going there, but we I we're running a a two coach buses to the Divine Mercy Shrine on May uh 30th of this month. So you we we do it in union with um couple of we have our our wonderful deacon. He's he's a wonderful physician. His wife's a physician. They were teachers just saying he's our benefactor. He pays for it all.

[01:12:42]>> So it's beautiful. So May 30th, we go and um we share a parish um communion. I don't know how it happened. God brought this woman to me for a parish in one of the poorest sections of Rhode Island.

[01:12:58]And it developed into a beautiful relationship between myself and her and a and our people, if you will, from St. Terresa and St. Christopher. And now they're they're um I think they're not Dominican Republic. What's the other h I I never >> Haiti >> Haitian.

[01:13:21]And so many of them don't speak English, but they are some of the the most devoted people and we see each other and we communicate and she's able to fill up a bus. So he gets a bus for their parish. It goes to them because nobody can drive. It's it's just absolutely a beautiful event. And this is our fourth year. So, praise God.

[01:13:43]>> So, they speak French. Is that what you're saying?

[01:13:45]>> Yeah. And so, they do the um the the the uh Holy Rosary and that sort of thing.

[01:13:51]We do it on all different languages. We have a Vietnamese couple. We do it in Latin, we do it in French, we do it in Portuguese, Spanish. It's pretty wild.

[01:14:00]And it's We do all the all the the decades all the way up there. We do the chaplet, we sing the chaplet, we do the litany of saints or litany of the Holy Spirit. And it's just and once we get there, we all do as a as a team the live stations. And it's just it's just beautiful. Just beautiful.

[01:14:20]>> Yeah. It's a real nice It's a real nice pilgrimage. So >> So is it a day trip up?

[01:14:26]>> Yeah. How many How long of a drive from >> from where we are? It's about 2 hours and 15 minutes or so. Not too bad.

[01:14:36]>> I could drive two hours and not get out of Houston.

[01:14:39]>> Right. Exactly.

[01:14:41]>> Well, have a one. Thanks for telling us about it. See, monumental, you know, and so everybody, you know, though all you listening, >> consider a pilgrimage to the National Shrine. It may be across the country from you. you may be in California or someplace, but think about that, you know, and ask ask uh Jesus to lead you or our lady to lead you if if uh she wants you to go to the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy. And as Dorian mentioned, they have uh life-size outdoor stations of the cross.

[01:15:15]>> And the grounds there are just uh gorgeous. It's it's it's on a hill, Eden Hill, and the trees. We were just up there, what, three or four weeks ago, and I was looking at these the tall trees at the top of this hill and just, you know, wondering at God's amazement.

[01:15:34]Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful place, place of peace and healing. H >> How many people will be on your trip, Dorine?

[01:15:41]>> Uh 112.

[01:15:44]>> Wow.

[01:15:46]>> It's up from 97 from last year. up from 76 the year before and up from 45 the year before.

[01:15:59]>> So, I leave from um my parish, St. Teresa in Tverton, Rhode Island. And I've got a bus that leaves out of uh St. Anony's Parish in Cranston.

[01:16:14]Because I'm in Connecticut. It is. Um, Cranston is >> Oh, Cranston.

[01:16:23]>> That's right. That's not that far from me.

[01:17:29]And what we do, we we bring lunches and you know, we have a bunch of waters and soda and drinks and um deacon brings coffee and little donuts. People make food now. We have a repast at 4:30 before we leave and it's kind of like a communal lunch. We have the priests that always come over because we've all got some really good cultural foods and they're all snacking at the picnic table area. It's, you know, they know us which is fantastic because we've been there consistently. So everybody's, you know, it's wonderful.

[01:18:01]>> Yeah, they're ready. Exactly. They're like, "Here you go. You got a you got a picnic table area here."

[01:18:06]>> So it's beautiful. Connie, I just sent that to you in the in the chat.

[01:18:23]Oh, you know what? I heaven is I while we were talking about Metraori I have a a friend she was our ultrasound nurse when I was at St. Gerards and we've become very good friends since. Well, anyway, she was telling me about her granddaughter who just graduated from University of Michigan, Suma Cumla, uh, engineer, mathematician. Anyway, she said to me, she's in Croatia now. And I said, what is Sarah doing in Croatia? Sarah lives with her parents in Boston. And she said, I don't know. She's vacationing.

[01:19:01]So they were at a wedding. Barbara was at another grandson's wedding and and Sarah's whole family was there. And so she said, "Sarah, here's a card for you for your graduation and there's money in there if you decide to go to Magori."

[01:19:21]She, well, she said Sarah doesn't go to church. And she just said she just looked at me. She took the envelope. So, Barbara, while we're talking, you know the drop downs that you get on your iPads and your phones of news? Well, it was Barbara saying Sarah's going to meet Maria the visionary tomorrow.

[01:19:45]>> You believe that?

[01:19:46]>> While we were talking about Magigoria.

[01:19:48]>> Yes.

[01:19:50]>> So, I said, Barbara, how did that happen? She said, well, her her daughter Elizabeth, they live in Boston. Um, Elizabeth knows a priest who knows a priest who knows another priest and arranged it for her to meet Marie. Maria the the visionary. So, you know, it's incredible because she had no plans of going to Medigoria, this young lady.

[01:20:20]Well, they Yeah, that's >> for you know if you don't know Magigoria is in Bosnia Bosnia Herzogina >> and Croatia is a country you know right next door Croatia is a is really a vacation spot. It's on the Adriatic Sea.

[01:20:39]>> Oh it's the jewel of the middle of the Eastern Europe.

[01:20:43]>> It's beautiful, you know. So it's gorgeous.

[01:20:48]Um, >> oh, that's that's amazing.

[01:20:51]>> Well, you'll have to keep us posted on on uh you know, >> on her.

[01:20:55]>> Yeah. On her.

[01:20:56]>> Yeah.

[01:20:57]>> Her what the Lord's doing.

[01:20:58]>> Well, it's amazing because when they were at um the wedding uh her Barbara's other grandson, uh there he married a girl that's Protestant, but her parents and her family were going to go to church the next day. and I I don't Sarah didn't come with me. Barbara said Sarah didn't go with us and I a few of her other grandchildren.

[01:21:27]So she said she doesn't go to church and I said yeah right >> well let's see what happens here. This is >> too coincidental all of this.

[01:21:38]>> Yeah.

[01:21:39]>> So I had to tell Barbara I said you don't believe it. I'm on the nine-day novena with uh David Joan Moroni from Divine Mercy for America and you dropped, you know, your message came down in front of me.

[01:21:56]It blew my mind. I said, "This is just um" and and she just told me maybe an hour before we connected, you know, before the holy hour about her granddaughter >> and I plan on telling you about my experience there.

[01:22:15]>> Unbelievable. And you know when I went um one of the times my husband actually encouraged me to go my mother lived with me for two years and um until she died.

[01:22:27]So after that my husband said you know I heard of a trip going to Magigori. You had your you took care of your mother for two years and you know you always come home so light and so he uh I think you need the rest. Why don't you go? I said, 'Well, usually, Frank, I feel it, but I don't feel it. You know, I usually, you know, I'm prompted to go. And he said, 'Well, I don't know why, but I feel it. So, anyway, right up until he said, "You're going to have to take the I I made out a check for you. You have to meet the gentleman who was leading this trip, which was out of East Harford, because he has to hand all the money into the travel agency by 8:00. So, you've got to leave now to meet him at St. Mary's Church.

[01:23:13]Well, when I was there, I said again, I said, "Well, you know, I don't have anything particular to ask for." So, it's on that trip, uh, I went to confession to our spiritual director that was on the trip and I said, "Father," I said, "Could you please pray for my husband so that he doesn't worry so much about everything?" And so, he said, "God has your husband in the palm of his hand, Father James." just like that. So, um then we had a nun that was a spiritual director also on this trip and I wooed with her one night and and I asked her the same thing. And so she said, "Oh, your husband is going to your husband's going to how did she put it?

[01:24:01]Your husband's going to be fine." Well, I came home only to find out both of us found out that he had terminal lung cancer. Oh.

[01:24:10]So there's the reason for the trip and he's the one that prompted me to go because I didn't have the desire you know we don't know. So, and when that priest said to me, so I went again uh a month and a two months after he died with a group, the same leader and um we were in Czechoslovak and they were doing a folk dance and so they invited us, the pilgrims, to go on stage and to dance.

[01:24:47]So man senior said to me, Connie, go up and dance with with uh your fellow travelers. That'll be good for you. It was it was a folk dance. And um it's it's just incredible. I came home and of course if it wasn't for the blessed mother, our Lord, God the Father, the Holy Spirit, I you know, my husband and I were friends since we were 11. He lived across the street. The poor guy. He never had the chance. So, so you know, it would have been very I can't imagine if I didn't have all of this, you know, how I would have I how I would have made it. We were married 40 years and he was 61 when he died. Never smoked in his life.

[01:25:37]>> But and he was gone in eight months. So, and the fact that he went with me on one of the trips is it it just all comes together. And when that priest said I led in the rosary in my parish for 29 years and one of the times uh it was every Monday night we did the rosary the novena to the miraculous uh medal. And so now, you know, when I was in Medigori, we were told that blessed mother said her birthday is August 5th, although she wanted us to obey the church and observe September 8th. Uh, so anyway, so I thought, you know what? The money fell out fell on a fifth and I said, I'm I said, Frank, I'm we're going to do all three mysteries. The fourth wasn't there at the time. I'm going to do all four mysteries of the rosary again. I'm going to I'm going to have someone come and sing. So this teacher where my husband he was a guidance counselor in a high school and so this teacher turns out she was a soprano singer.

[01:26:51]So, so, uh, we had during each decade, uh, she sang a song and the third song was He's got the whole world in his hands.

[01:27:06]>> Wow.

[01:27:07]>> It was And you know, I had a reception after, we had cake. It was remarkable.

[01:27:13]You know, you you know, you you go through life and the ups and downs and uh the joys and the trials and you tend to forget all the times all these special stories. You know, my grandchildren said, "Me, you come, you should write, you should write all this down." I said, "But I don't think of it until, you know, I'm somehow something sparks me to remember it." So they got me a journal, a pretty thick one. And so I haven't there's so many stories for everybody. Everybody has stories. But if it wasn't for our I told the blessed mother, you take my hand, you lead me where you want me to go. But I'm going to be 84. And now I'm at the point where I went, oh, do you think I could have my hand back?

[01:28:08]But I of course I joke but you know when a Maria doesn't come on the radio or that it brings tears to my eyes.

[01:28:19]>> I mean she she's a marble.

[01:28:25]>> Gosh, thanks Connie.

[01:28:27]>> Thanks for sharing. I'm lovely words you have choked up here now. I'm getting really excited about this trip. It's just been kind of a distant thing, you know, not really stop and think about where we're going, what we're going to be doing. I'm looking forward to it to just be there. Be there. [01:31:37]It's incredible. One of it's Sister Anna Ali went to visit a lady in a friend in Uganda and she saw a host appear. Sister Anna did. and it hovered and it went up to where the divine mercy image and there was a deacon there and so sisters like I can see it from what we heard but no one else could see it so he took a picture and guess what came out in the p picture a host hovering over the divine mercy I've got it it's in the graphic I've been working on that to get that email out so you'll see it but this is the woman whose home it was it's amazing so um And don't forget the Holy Spirit novena.

[01:32:18]And we said yesterday, remember that Pentecost is May 24th and merry help of Christians.

[01:32:25]So, who knows what the Holy Spirit's going to be doing to help advance Christianity starting in our own families, right?

[01:32:33]Starting with our own kids and grandkids and spouses and cousins and everyone else that we want to bring to the Lord and want them to practice their faith.

[01:32:42]Um, and then not to mention worldwide, God's got this right. And we're all in the palm of his hand. And I realized yesterday that's the anniversary of the passing of my dad. It'll be four years um on Pentecost. So, >> God rest his soul.
