What if JESUS was NEVER CRUCIFIED? A JEW INVESTIGATES!

[00:00:00]Guess what, Jews? We killed Jesus.

[00:00:03]Well, at least according to the New Testament.

[00:00:07]And even if you want to say, "Well, technically it was the Romans." The real ones know that all Jews are spoken for for all eternity in Matthew chapter 27 verse 25 where the Jews say, "His blood be upon us and on our children."

[00:00:26]We also have Paul blaming the Jews for the shedding of Jesus' blood in 1 Thessalonians chapter 2 verses 14 through 15 and that these Jews are hostile to everyone.

[00:00:42]Pair this rhetoric with the synagogue of Satan stuff from Revelation 2:9 and 3:9 and you can see why for the majority of the church's history, Christians haven't been the most fond of those Jesus-killing Jews over the past 2,000 years.

[00:01:01]But what if Jesus was never crucified?

[00:01:04]No, seriously. What if we Jews, yes, those Pharisaic hypocrites, actually accepted Jesus in some alternate reality?

[00:01:15]What would that mean for the Jews?

[00:01:18]Would we still be the villains in the story?

[00:01:21]What would that mean for the Gentiles?

[00:01:24]Would the Gentiles still be saved without their precious blood of Jesus?

[00:01:30]Would there be any need for Jesus to be resurrected?

[00:01:35]What would this mean for the claims of his supposed divinity?

[00:01:39]What would this mean for Paul?

[00:01:42]We're going to explore the theological implications of this right now.

[00:01:53]Just picture the scene.

[00:01:55]Jesus is accepted not just by the 12 apostles, not just by a minority of Jews, but even by the highest orders of the Sanhedrin and the high Levitical priesthood.

[00:02:07]There's virtually no resistance. The Jews listen to him in awe, holding on to every last word that comes out of Jesus' mouth.

[00:02:16]Let's say he's even unironically crowned and anointed as Hashem, the king of the Jews.

[00:02:24]Jesus would live out the rest of his days ruling as a king in the temple, and there would be world peace, and all the Jews would either go to heaven or live forever or something something something salvation.

[00:02:38]From a Christian perspective, this is the way the Jews should have acted.

[00:02:44]Right?

[00:02:45]If we were really God's chosen people, then this would be our only path to salvation.

[00:02:52]After all, no one comes to the Father except through Jesus, right?

[00:02:59]Well, if Jesus was never killed and his blood was never shed, then this would create some interesting problems for Christianity that you can probably already see.

[00:03:11]First of all, Jesus' blood wouldn't have been shed, and Christians claim that without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin.

[00:03:22]That's from Hebrews chapter 9 verse 22.

[00:03:26]Jesus' blood being shed is foundational to the Christian understanding of being saved, and without that happening, no one can be saved.

[00:03:37]Second of all, there wouldn't be any need for Jesus to be resurrected.

[00:03:43]Jesus would be accepted by the Jews, and none would be the wiser of his supposed secret resurrection ability because they would be too busy accepting Jesus as their Messiah and king.

[00:03:57]Notice I haven't used the word God to describe Jesus in this scenario because according to the Christian understanding Jesus was not definitively understood to be a God-man until after he was resurrected.

[00:04:13]Sure, Jesus may have made some vague claims that might have implied divinity in retrospect but virtually all Christians agree that the supposed proof for Jesus' divinity would come solely from the resurrection of Jesus.

[00:04:31]As Paul states in Corinthians chapter 15:14 "And if Jesus be not risen, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is also vain."

[00:04:45]Paul wouldn't have any need to say this if Jesus was never killed by those terrible Jews he accuses of being contrary to all men in 1 Thessalonians chapter 2:14-15 for killing Jesus. I mean, what Christian cares about salvation and the resurrection of Jesus anyway?

[00:05:09]Clearly, it would be in the Gentile Christians' best interest for the Jews to have not killed Jesus so that no one could be saved by his blood.

[00:05:18]Also, it would be better if Jesus was never resurrected because worshiping Jesus as a god isn't as important to Christians as it is to recognize him as the king of the Jews. That earthly title is sufficient.

[00:05:34]If the Jews never killed Jesus, then there would be no church for the Gentiles. To quote Jesus in Mark chapter 7:27 "Let the children eat all they want."

[00:05:46]Jesus [clears throat] told a Gentile woman who begged him to drive a demon out of her daughter, "For it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs." The children, of course, referring to the children of Israel, and the dogs, of course, referring to the Gentiles.

[00:06:05]Even Paul knows that Jesus came first for the Jew in Romans chapter 1 verse 16.

[00:06:13]But if the Jews never killed Jesus, then Jesus wouldn't have appeared to Paul in a vision because Paul could have just met Jesus in the flesh.

[00:06:23]There would be no book of Romans, no Corinthians, no Thessalonians, or any of Paul's letters that make up a significant portion of the New Testament.

[00:06:33]And what would Christians need the book of Hebrews for if Jesus' blood was never shed by those pesky Jews?

[00:06:41]The good book of Hebrews chapter 10 verse 4 says, "It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins."

[00:06:50]Because Jesus is supposedly the ultimate sacrifice.

[00:06:55]But if the Jews never killed him, would the Jews still be doing sacrifices in the temple under Jesus' rule?

[00:07:02]Well, considering Leviticus chapter 17 verse 11 says the blood sacrifice of bulls and goats on the altar make atonement for the souls of the people, I would certainly hope so.

[00:07:16]Just don't tell the author of that New Testament book of Hebrews, whoever that was.

[00:07:23]And also considering the fact that according to the New Testament, Jewish believers in Jesus continued to make sacrifices in the temple after Jesus' death and supposed resurrection, including Paul himself, I think it can be safely said that this would have continued if Jesus was crowned king of the Jews even in the event that he was not killed or resurrected.

[00:07:48]Some Christians even argue that this would have triggered the fulfillment of the prophecies described in Ezekiel chapters 40 through 48 concerning what many understand to be the description of the future third temple.

[00:08:03]Ezekiel chapter 44 verse 9 even says, "So said the Lord God, no alien of uncircumcised heart or of uncircumcised flesh may enter my sanctuary of any alien who is in the midst of the children of Israel."

[00:08:23]Square this with Paul in Romans chapter 2 verses 28 through 29.

[00:08:29]"For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh, but he is a Jew which is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart in the spirit and not in the letter, whose praise is not of men, but of God."

[00:08:52]Count your lucky stars, Christians. You wouldn't be able to go in the Ezekiel temple unless you were circumcised.

[00:09:00]Just read Ezekiel chapter 44 verse 9.

[00:09:04]But we're saving the best for last because even in the New Testament, Jesus is guilty of hoarding all this salvation to himself because in John chapter 8, Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for trying to kill him.

[00:09:20]Jesus even calls them children of the devil.

[00:09:24]It sounds to me like Jesus didn't want to be killed.

[00:09:27]Could it be that when he was on the cross calling out to God that maybe getting killed on a cross wasn't a contingency plan, but an outright failure.

[00:09:39]If you're a Christian, of course not.

[00:09:42]Because Jesus is your God, no matter if he succeeds or fails on paper, because you've already made up your mind before objectively examining the evidence.

[00:09:52]So Christians, the next time you accuse a Jew of killing Jesus with the same vitriolic hatred that the Apostle Paul and even Jesus himself viciously accused the Jews with, don't be surprised when our response is, "You're welcome."
