I'm really looking forward to checking this one out. I will say I don't know anything about this. I watched a little bit of the trailer going in. I decided to cut myself off about halfway through cuz I figured this might be a fun one to go into blind. I did look up a few reviews and saw that it was mostly positive. People thought that it was a pretty funny movie. So, I'm looking forward to checking this one out. Jen, what are your thoughts going into it?

[00:00:31]>> I have never heard of this movie, but when Holden mentioned it to me, I was like, "Oh my gosh, is it about Nirvana, the band?" But I'm a little confused because it's spelled differently, but it does reference a band. So, I really just don't know if it has anything to do with Kurt Cobain's band Nirvana or if it's something completely different. Um, either way, I'm really excited to check it out. I always love checking out movies that I've never heard of, I've never heard other people talk about. Um, so this is going to be one of those. Um, so I'm really really excited to check it out.

[00:35:05]Here's the plan.

[00:35:07]>> It's a sliver of glass. It's a Oh, there's a postredit scene playing post credits. So, like the other camera guy or was that him? I couldn't tell.

[00:35:28]>> Well, wouldn't that Yeah, that would have been him because there was one on the couch.

[00:35:35]>> Just finished watching Nirvana, the band, the show, the movie. Granted, going into this, I had no idea what to expect. Um, since it was selected for the Spielberg tier, I figured it was going to be something funny, but I ended up really enjoying it. I didn't know how it was going to feel right at the very beginning. I was like, I don't know, like seeing the kind of the old camera footage, but seeing the movie progress and getting to know these two characters, I really liked them. I've talked before about like comedy theory and one thing I've talked about is sort of the Abbott and Castello uh dynamic of comedy where you have one character that's a little bit more grounded in reality that the audience can kind of relate to and then the other character I forget I forget his name it's not Jay it's the other one the one with the fedora >> Matt.

[00:36:12]>> Matt. Yeah. Who's the comedic um silly one that's so outlandish that needs to play off the reality character which makes it so funny. Like if you have two absurd characters the whole time it can come off as obnoxious. But having that dynamic really is what makes this type of comedy really really land. I really ended up really liking the characters.

[00:36:29]There were parts of this that I was like wondering how they actually pulled off because some of it looked like they like filmed real people on the [music] streets, but sometimes they would come back up to them like that girl who was sitting outside the CN Tower. He like, you know, first he like meets her and he I think that she was a not a pl like not a plant but an actual person there. Then there's like another scene where he's going with the wheelbarrow. They could have played both of those off. The only way I could think of it is that maybe they did the wheelbarrow part first and then they just shot it like depending on how they shot stuff. So there's like a lot of technical stuff I'd be really curious about. There were moments in this that like I was really laughing really hard. So I think this was a solid pick. I'm curious about the the show. I saw that it's like back in 2017. Um it's only eight episodes. So I guess this was like a pretty popular or like a cult cult following in Canada enough to warrant a movie several years later.

[00:37:17]kind of like how Firefly was everywhere else. But anyway, I'd love to know what you thought of this one, Jen. [music] >> I was actually very surprised cuz I enjoyed it 100%. I adore these [music] two characters so much. They are very different, but their bromance is just off the charts. And I love love love movies that focus on bromances. I don't know why, but they just I feel like it's some of the best comedy out there. And so I really enjoyed it. I love that they referenced the [music] honestly the Orbits drink which I remember I remember drinking the Orbits drinks and the fact that it was such a focus of this movie was hilarious [music] to me. So I love that kind of time capsule scenario and um I also just really love the [music] energy between these two. It also had a touch of kind of what felt like impractical jokers at times, which was really fun because me and Holden are huge Impractical Jokers fans. So, if these some of the people that were featured in the movie were actually [music] actors and not like real people just pulled off the street, they are fantastic actors [music] because I was very convinced that they were um it was a reality show type scenario or [music] hidden camera type scenario, but loved it. I I thought it was just a fun movie. It was hilarious.

[00:38:50]In particular, I loved Matt's use of comedy [music] in this movie. I thought that he was great. Very offthe-wall, as Holden kind of touched on, and then Jay was a little more down to earth, I'll say, but they were both like oddballs, which just played out really well for this film. [music] So all in all, I think, you know, it was nothing more than like pair of guys that just really enjoy each other's company and have this like [music] idea and um seeing that kind of play out and how much fun they have with that, how much [music] they appreciate each other at the end. I just loved it all. So it was very heartwarming, very funny. It had a little touch of everything for me. So loved it.

[00:39:32]>> What would [music] you rate it?

[00:39:34]>> Pretty high up there. I was also not sure in the beginning, but it ended up being a fun ride and I really didn't know in the beginning what direction they were going, but I was pleasantly surprised. So, I'm going to go with a nine.

[00:39:48]>> Wow.

[00:39:48]>> I'm pretty up there, too. I was pleasantly surprised as well. I I came to really like both of the characters.

[00:39:54]There were some of those like outofpocket moment moments like when G shoots the guy in the head. Just was not expecting that. Like I thought, you know, cuz they were teasing like, "Oh, he's going to, you know, pull the gun out, maybe fire it in the car or something, but just like the straight up head shot, it's just like, wait, what the heck?" And then running from the police the rest of like the time that they were in that timeline. So funny.

[00:40:14]Comedic gold. So, um, I would rate this one probably an eight. I think a [music] solid eight. Really enjoyed it overall.
