In criminal court proceedings, plea bargains involve significant legal consequences including permanent criminal records, affirmative findings of family violence, mandatory surrender of firearm rights, and potential immigration consequences such as deportation or exclusion from the country; defendants must fully understand these implications before accepting a plea agreement.

🔴LIVE Courtroom Chaos After Judge ExplodesAdded:
Granados, come up.
What is the only thing I told you not to do, Mr. Granados?
>> Right.
You have a DWI last year. Now you've got another DWPI and I order you not to drink and now you've got two separate violations.
>> Guess what happens now?
You're going to jail. Goes with you.
>> We already have this going.
>> Okay.
>> Thanks, Judge.
I'm pretty sure council.
Are you ready?
>> I have a >> last name of her name's >> Oh, you got a chef. Okay. Excuse me. Uh, did you tell them to let him know to bring them out?
>> Um, I just got mine. Everything's signed.
>> You said in jail, right?
>> Yes, sure.
>> Yeah, we need to bring If you don't mind, please. Yeah.
>> Hey.
Let me look.
>> Oh, are they both here?
>> Okay. Let let me do this plea and then we'll go.
>> Yeah, let me do the ple and then we'll go.
>> Porsche, I'm Porsche.
>> I'm going do the plea and then we can go.
>> So you don't have to wait.
No.
earlier.
>> What was the last name on yours?
Um, no. You sent it to me, right?
>> Yes.
>> So, until what time?
>> Like 10:30. Um, so Monday through Friday, on the weekend, >> I'm not letting him stay open. I'm not going to let him do that.
>> So, >> okay. Only on the days he works. That's it. It's got to be on the schedule. We got to have it.
>> Okay. Other than that, other than that, the schedule remains. Yes, sir. Okay.
All right.
and wave the you let her know and then you can wave the signature.
>> Okay.
Council, you want to talk to me while we're waiting?
>> Yes. I know you want to speak to PCR.
>> It was found no PC.
>> No, I'm >> Oh, you want no PC?
What's your cost number on yours?
>> And then far if you take note.
>> Okay. What is it?
>> 269.
>> Gomez.
>> Yes.
>> Oh, is it a new case today?
>> It's actually not until next week, but I'm dealing with >> Got it. Okay. But you want to look at conditions and protective order.
>> Okay. Yeah, we'll do.
>> This is Mr. You're Miss Mr. Vega.
>> Mr. Vega.
>> Good morning, Mr. Vega.
>> Sir, you're charged with assault of a family member. You're facing up to a year in jail and or a $4,000 fine.
You've worked out an agreement. They're offering you 198 days in jail with credit for the 67 that you've done. You need to understand something very important that this charge will today go on your record and it will be there for the rest of your life. This comes with an affirmative finding of family violence. Meaning that if you ever pick up another case like this and it doesn't have to be where you drag down, beat the hell out of someone.
You just grab the arm and squeeze it up to where it hurts, you're looking at a thirdderee felony. Two to 10 in the penitentiary. You understand? You also give up the right to appeal. And you can never own a gun or ammunition as a result of this plea bargain agreement as well. You understand? You are giving up the right to a trial. Right to compel witnesses to test your behalf. Confront and cross-examine your accusers if you're not a citizen. There are possible immigration consequences. You can be deported. Excluded from the country.
Deny naturalization. You also give up the right to appeal. Is this what you want to do? How do you ple the offense, sir?
>> I'm going to find you guilty. I'll follow it. Good luck to you, sir. Thank you. Thank you very much.
>> Make sure they're affirmative.
>> Affirmative. Mr. Okay. All right. Mr. Ball, you ready?
>> Yes.
>> Okay. Talk to me.
>> So, Mic 17 and I was appointed.
>> Okay. On that day, her bonds were amended for direct access and said she needed to stay um 200 ft away >> and she was given no threatening harassing contact at this time sister.
The protective order was amended as well to have the correct entrance that was already in place. That's what I'm sorry protective order.
The protective order has um no contact which is different than what the uh no contact the bond edition has. In addition, protective order I think says it's 500 ft away from the address but the address is an apartment complex but a specific apartment not the general apartment complex.
Police were called to a disturbance or a welfare check and they found my client on the scene in the parking lot not in the apartment >> and they ran uh her information and spoke to the state and this is from the office report I'm reading last report in the states I called the ADA and spoke to ace milling to verify the protective order is active the protective order stated that the suspect is not supposed to be anywhere near 1505 1502 Enclave Parkway. That's incorrect. And she was in the parking lot. So, they're saying she can't go anywhere in the apartment complex, which is incorrect.
And maybe that's the reason, but it's not clear. And it looks like the reason for the arrest was because they're thinking she can't go to the apartment complex as word in the office report. It doesn't say specific because they find her in the apartment.
Your honor, this is straight from the dibs, the Oxford dispatchial welfare check, the exact location, apartment compartment number included, >> but she's nowhere near the apartment.
>> No, >> they arrived at the parking lot in front of the component's residence. They were dispatched specifically in the complaint.
>> How far is she from the complainant's residence?
>> Do they detail?
officers observed outside the parking lot in front of the complaint res.
>> It's very ambiguous.
>> You know, >> the protective order amended protective order. So, I mean, we can't use the offense report, but if you look at the dim specifically, it says he's right outside of the residence, >> right? It says the parking lot is right outside the parking. Yes. Outside. Hold on. I lost it.
>> And this is she.
>> She. Sorry.
>> Do we can you pinpoint I mean do we need you want to look at a map maybe and so we can kind of see. I mean, we could contact the officer if that's if that's going to be the point of contention.
>> I mean, I think it is right because although it may be splitting hairs to some, she's in jail now, bond denied on the felony, so it's a big deal to her when we may be talking, you know, feet. And in addition, I would just like to add the context of the bar condition says no threat harassing and the protective board it says no contact right in this particular situation in the dems and in the office report >> the complaining witness no it's still her order the complaining witness stated to the cops I told her to come over so I can see my hair >> but that I'm >> she's got to she got to know you know really >> understand your honor but that's why I take blame for it being different right I should have that up so that these type of things don't because we amended the protected order but we amended the address so I just didn't amend it. I I would assume that you know concept you know >> does it look like it's within 200 ft >> being from >> but I mean you can pull up on if they can pinpoint where she was you can see exactly on Google maps where the apartment is relation to the >> doesn't give a specific >> but she's in the parking lot >> and so >> right the parking lot has a certain distance to the complaining witness's apartment. I mean, is it literally right next to it 5T or is it, you know, 500 ft away where she was and where she was arrested because they're of the opinion that she can't go anywhere near it. But in the protective order, she just can't go within 200 feet. It's a big difference.
>> I have to take a look at >> So, they're mistaken, >> right? It's It's gonna We need some time.
>> Yeah. Can you Can you >> Yeah. And then today, like I said, I got to go back to >> Sure.
>> I'll back. Thank you.
>> Yes.
The device has them at the car wash at the building. Car wash on the mask away. One second.
>> Really?
>> They cannot tell us how far.
>> If it's 260 ft, I'm just going to continue supervision.
>> I don't I don't know what happened.
>> They don't have the ability to tell us how many feet he is just that it dangs.
That's just what the device does.
>> It's just the exclusion zone. So, his um >> Well, we said 200 ft. So, not to go within 200 feet. I mean, if he's at 260 ft, then he's fine.
>> Um it's because we can only measure from the verbal map.
I know that the street is going to take a little bit longer.
>> Um, >> don't worry about it. We'll continue supervision.
>> Excuse.
>> Yeah. Thanks. Okay.
>> So, felony court um dissolve the protective order provision of the condition of probation and then prosecutor said make sure tell misdemeanor court so that we're consistent.
>> Can you just verify that?
And then once they verify it, then I'm okay with >> Are you ready?
>> Yeah.
by The police.
