Terrorist attacks targeting transportation infrastructure, such as highways and public buses, are designed to disrupt economic connectivity and spread fear among populations, as demonstrated by the April 25, 2026 attack on Colombia's Pan-American Highway in Cauca department, which killed at least 10 people and injured dozens, with authorities linking the attack to dissident factions of the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) that rejected the 2016 peace agreement.

🔥🚨 DEADLY HIGHWAY BLAST IN COLOMBIA: Terror Attack Leaves Multiple Deceased & Dozens Injured 😱💥追加:
You're watching DC-born Rob erasing borders.
And now, the news. Breaking news from Colombia, there's been a terrorist attack on the Pan-American Highway that leaves at least 14 deceased and nearly 40 wounded. Let's jump into this story right away. A devastating terrorist attack struck southwestern Colombia on April 25th, 2026, when a powerful explosion ripped through the Pan-American Highway in the department of Cauca.
The attack took place in a rural area of Cajibío, specifically in the sector known as El Túnel, a critical route that connects key regions of the country. An explosive device detonated near several vehicles traveling along the highway, including a passenger bus, causing widespread destruction and panic. At least 10 people were killed in the blast and dozens more were injured, many suffering serious wounds. The force of the explosion destroyed multiple vehicles, leaving wreckage scattered across the highway, enforcing the authorities to close the highway.
Emergency teams quickly arrived at the scene to rescue survivors, provide medical assistance, and transport the injured to nearby hospitals. The area was secured as officials worked to assess the damage and prevent further danger. Authorities confirmed that the incident was a terrorist attack and linked to a dissident faction of the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.
These groups rejected a peace agreement that was signed in 2016 and continue to operate in the region, often tied to illegal activities such as drug trafficking and territorial control.
Initial reports indicate that the attack was designed to disrupt transportation and spread fear amongst the population.
The deadly bombing is part of a wider increase in violence in southwestern Colombia, where armed groups have intensified their actions in recent months. Government officials strongly condemn the attack and announced increased security measures in the region. The Pan-American Highway, a vital economic route, remains affected as authorities work to restore order and ensure safe travel. So, there you go.
Prayers and good vibes to anyone that's been affected by this. This is over the past 24 hours. This is near Cali. Allow me to let you hear from the mayor of Cali himself. Check this out.
The terrorism that we, the people of Cali, have experienced over the last 2 years, this is not acceptable to us.
I have said this practically since the beginning of our administration. We need a stronger response from the national security policy. Why from the national security policy? Because the terrorists who are planting bombs in Cali are not in Cali. They are in the mountains south of Valle del Cauca and in the north of Coca.
And our demand has been for greater security, more forceful action.
We are ready to support in whatever is necessary for our city. We are ready to support the public forces with more vehicles, with drones, even with a reward fund, which is the largest in Cali's history.
But none of that replaces stronger efforts at the national level.
Today, I received a call from Minister Benedetti offering [music] uh his solidarity with Cali and the full intention of the national government to work constructively to find a definitive solution to this problem. We can't stand Cali being a laboratory for terrorism any longer.
We hope that the minister will propose a security council meeting tomorrow in Cali with the presence of the president and the minister of defense so that we can work constructively to find a definitive solution to this situation.
But we, the people of Cali, will no longer accept that our city has become a laboratory for the resurgence of terrorism in Colombia. Mayor, live for Noticias Caracol. You were just talking about strengthening police stations and other public force infrastructures. In what way? With technology? More units?
We are going to take some immediate measures. The first is that the reward for information that allows us to find the driver of the bus will be increased to up to 200 million pesos.
Also, not just for that person, but for any other terrorist who was involved in this attack in this attack. In the meantime, the investigations continue.
Everything seems to indicate that those responsible are the criminals from the so-called FARC dissidents, Jaime Martínez, the same terrorists who attacked the airbase last year.
There is only one difference in the method, which is that they used a different type of vehicle, a a uh a transport bus or a a school bus.
But that the reward is 200 million pesos. Please, call the 123 hotline. In the meantime, the mayor's office and the governor's office will work together to strengthen the surveillance capabilities of the public security forces, and we are at the disposal of the public security forces to help in whatever is necessary. Mayor, the license plate was from Puerto Tejada, but the bus in the videos, you can see that it comes from the highest part of Cali.
Do we know if that bus had entered the city or have you been able to determine whether it was rigged with explosives here or if it came in already rigged?
That in That investigation is ongoing right now.
Everything seems to indicate that the bus came from outside Cali. We already have some leads that the police are analyzing, and we hope to have results very soon.
The most important thing right now is to capture the terrorist, the coward who drove that bus and parked it not only next to the battalion, but also next to a hospital.
A murderer, that terrorist.
That's why we are offering up to 200 million pesos for information leading to this person. Please, you can call the line one. So, there you go. Of course, this is unfortunate news to have to pass on again. It doesn't directly tie into expats or travelers, but if you're on that road or you're near that road or you need to travel on or near that road, then yes, you need to know.
