True knowledge is fundamentally relational, requiring human experience, emotions, and shared burdens rather than mere data accumulation through machines; technology should serve as a means for human flourishing and development, not an end in itself, and the Church encourages dialogue with AI experts to guide this technology toward the common good and human dignity.

Pope Leo XIV on AI: Dialogue, Relational Knowledge & Human Flourishing | Father Brendan McGuireAdded:
Professor, what do you having worked on this release now? What do you consider the highlight for you after just coming out of the Pope's session this afternoon?
>> One of the highlight I would say is the church willingness to dialogue. It remind me even the cinnodal process where we are supposed to have a conversation right in in this time of artificial intelligence being open to have a conversation with those expert in the field you know seem like to me a very important turn you know so it's not only speaking from the side of the church and then speaking to those people but right it's really talking grief those people message of affirming magnificent humanity you know tell them right how humanity is the need to be preserved so you need to be with those people and on the same table >> and if there was one message you would like to give the all the people back in the dascese San Jose now you've been at Santa Clara University what would be the message you give to all of us back in Silka Valley >> so the message that I will give is prop reminding us that Knowledge is relational. Knowing is not accumulating data you know through technology through machine. That is not knowing. Knowing it's something deeply relational. It takes experience. It takes joys. It takes sorrow. It takes you know our limitation as a human person. It takes our successes. You know it takes growing with each other. Embracing each other's burdens. That is the way we grow. That is where we really we truly know you know and come to be better human being.
So it's not through machine.
So so machine and technology it's something that we need because we need technology. It's about development. It's about you know human being participating in God creation. So we are cocreator with God. So it's very important to to use technology to develop technology but technology it's a means toward human flourishing not the other way around.
>> Thank you so much. God bless you and your work. Thank you.
