To spot a liar, observe three key indicators: first, establish a baseline by watching how someone behaves when relaxed, then watch for changes in body expression when asked uncomfortable questions; second, look for microexpressions—emotions like fear, contempt, or disgust that flash across the face in under a quarter of a second before the person can control them; third, watch for clusters of unusual behaviors, as one odd thing means nothing but three together signal deception. Most people are barely better than chance at detecting lies, but those who are skilled have learned these techniques deliberately.

How to Spot a Liar Without Them Saying a WordAñadido:
Your body confesses even when your mouth doesn't. Most people think lying is about what someone says. It's not. It's actually about what their body forgets to hide. So, I ask Curious Verse how to spot a liar, and this is what it said.
First thing, establish a baseline. Watch how someone moves when they're relaxed.
That's their normal. Now, ask them something uncomfortable. Like, have they ever cheated? Where were you last Tuesday? Watch their whole body expression change. Did they suddenly go still? Stop gesturing? That stillness is your first red flag.
Second, microexpressions.
Emotions flash across their face in under a quarter of a second. Fear, contempt, disgust. Gone before they can control it.
Third, clusters. One weird thing means nothing, but three weird things?
I'd pay attention. The scariest part, most people are terrible at spotting liars. Studies show we're barely better than a coin flip. The people that are good at it, they learned it.
