We have a very very busy day uh full of misdemeanor arrangements, full of pre-exam conferences, and uh I will just say I had a wonderful few days off in Florida, chasing my granddaughters in the surf, building sand castles, and enjoying time off with beautiful, beautiful weather. Our first line today, we'll get right to it. Somebody suggested this while I was gone. I could do probably 30 first lines from John Prine.

Uh I talked about the courtroom and the history of this courtroom and maybe we'll try it again uh in a little bit. Apparently I've also got some bench warn arignments and that'll be great too. So we have a lot to do. Uh we have about I don't know 50 people to deal with this morning. several different attorneys. Uh the m microphones are wireless. They tell me I need it right in my face here.

[00:03:46]I did have an opportunity when I was in Florida to meet Stingray Tom. He drove all the way from Orlando area. had a nice visit with him and uh thanks to him also met a lot of other nice people.

[00:04:05]Uh they did have a jury trial in Three Rivers. Judge, retired judge Alexander Lipy came down and tried a criminal sexual conduct case with the attorney general handling the prosecution from Lancing and uh Ross Truckucky representing the defendant. and they uh reached a verdict of guilty yesterday afternoon.

[00:04:31]Uh we're still, as I said, working the bugs out in here. I can't show you the entire courtroom, these cameras. I guess I could show it at some point with my uh camera from my monitor. So, may we'll try that at some point when I do the introduction properly.

And because of the construction that you saw on your way in, everything on the old side of the of the court structure and the court office has been closed. It's under construction. And you see building materials and dust and people all over the place. So for the next year or two, we will be conducting court in this building. And this is the original court building. So, I'm going to turn off the live chat and uh thank you all for saying good morning and I will do a better introduction to this later. I'm sorry that whole very eloquent introduction that I did didn't have any sound. So, the only one that heard it was me and Autumn.

[00:13:19]Anyway, Mr. Guthrie, you got a lot going on here. You're charged with driving suspended first offense and open intoxicants from an incident that occurred on October 28th of 2025.

[00:13:32]A warrant issued back in December and you didn't get picked up until April when you got arrested for domestic violence second offense and cruelty to animals. That case is 264 or 605SM.

[00:13:48]Domestic violence second offense is the most serious charge. It's a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.

[00:13:58]My suggestion, Mr. Guthrie, is we get a lawyer to help you with this. These cases could have serious consequences.

It's punishable by up to 93 days in jail and a fine of up to $500 and could further suspend your license. You've had license issues for a while now. But the most serious charge is a second offense, domestic assault. I don't know very many of the facts. All I know is what I told you from the complaint. So, I'm going to do the same thing. I have the court officer take you out to our office. They're going to give you the paperwork with your lawyer's name and number on it. I want you to call that lawyer, make an appointment to discuss it with him prior to June 5th. That's a long way away. The next available date would be May 1st, which is 10 days from now, but that day is already overfilled.

That was theoretically a fire escape.
