Hardware wallets provide secure self-custody for cryptocurrency by storing private keys offline, protecting against exchange risks like fund freezing and account closures; however, airgapped wallets are not inherently more secure than non-airgapped ones, as the term is primarily marketing and most claimed airgapped wallets still use NFC communication, which means they are not truly airgapped.

FINAL WARNING (Tangem Wallet)Hinzugefügt:
Just got done doing some yard work. Uh, aside from that though, just want to give you a final warning, final heads up, one last reminder. This is the last that you'll hear about it.
Today is the last day to enter into the the tandem giveaway that they're holding. It went from May 5th to June 5th. So, it will end tonight, later tonight in um towards midnight, but that could be, you know, 10 p.m.
your time. So, you still have a few hours. Uh, but the giveaway is for the the grand prize is $5,000 in free Bitcoin. There will also be three iPhone 17 256 gig uh phones to give away.
There's Tandem Pro kits, Tandem Ring, and then there will be uh $50 in Bitcoin rewards as well as $10 Bitcoin rewards.
And all you have to do to automatically enter this giveaway is purchase a Tangent wallet using an affiliate link.
My affiliate link is in the um in the description of this live stream. So, if you're watching this, you know, later when I jump off, you can just go to that link. If you buy a wallet, uh you'll automatically be entry enter entered into the giveaway. Uh there's also a sale going on right now. The sale is 20 to 50% off the entire website and any wallet you buy on the website right now, you're getting $5 to $20 in free Bitcoin instantly. sure that um you check your email if you buy a T because you'll the first email you you will receive is the um is an order confirmation and then after that you will get the uh Bitcoin claim email and that one will probably show up in your spam box. So just make sure that you're checking that if you do end up ordering order ordering a wallet. But yeah, I just wanted everyone to know that before that ends because again today's the last day uh they will announce the winners July 5th. So, a month from today and they will announce the winners live in their Discord. They'll also post a blog article that I'll share here on the channel. And if you are a winner, you should receive an email as well. So, come July 5th, make sure you are again checking your spam folder in your emails and watching out for uh anything from Tandem. I will say right now, because I could see this happening, be be very wary of any like uh links that arrive in your email. um especially if it's it's having you if it's having you connect your wallet or enter your seed phrase, you know, you already know it's a scam.
So, just be on the be on the lookout for that. Um but yeah, it looks like the sale that they have going on is going to is going for uh it's going on for a few more days at least. So, just because the giveaway entries end today, the sale goes on. Um so, you can still get a really good deal.
Uh, but what's going on everyone? Happy Friday. Off the grid Hero, what's going on? Off the Grid Hero says, "Everything is crashing. Which crypto you looking to buy low?" Um, I don't know. I mean, there's any of them, you know. I don't really talk about what crypto I buy. I think I think Bitcoin has proven itself.
All the past times that has dropped, you know, below 50% from all-time highs. Uh, historically, it has proven that it always comes back and it usually goes even higher. So, not uh not financial advice, but I think Bitcoin is kind of an easy bet.
California Bear 619, what's going on?
Thanks for joining the live stream. Hope you're having a great Friday. Barbara Harris, hello Barbara. Good evening. Got my tandem cards and hope we win. I hope you win too, Barbara. Um I hope we have at least a few winners on the channel.
That would be super cool. And I hope I mean they don't have to but it would be cool if we did have some winners and they come uh you know join a live stream and tell us hey you know you know we won the we won the $5,000 in Bitcoin or we won an iPhone 17 or whatever maybe $50 in Bitcoin loss to choose from.
Um what's going on Siri 8901?
Yeah I just wanted to do this vertical live stream. I actually like doing these ones. just harder to like interact with people. And I don't think this is like the preferred live stream method, but because I'm just jumping on to say what's up, thought it'd be fun to uh just do a live stream from my phone.
Uh Karen, thanks. You're very welcome, Karen.
Um William, sell everything. Nah, that's now's the worst time to sell. Uh because odds are you are down. So, usually you buy when it's low and sell when it's high. Uh, if you want to lose money, you sell when it's low and buy when it's high. So, also, I have a I have a super sweet video coming out next week. Uh, it's already it's getting close to being done, but it's basically about how to survive the bare market. uh some mistakes that I've learned from being in crypto for six years and um some things that I've done in past bare markets that I continually see people doing and especially now with with all the negative talk about crypto, how crypto is crypto is dead. I've seen people say that they've wasted the last five years of their life. It's the same thing every time. This happens every couple of years. Um if you've been in if you've been in crypto for a while, this is just repeat basically. So, Gan Wright 350, you have educated me a lot. Thank you, sir. You educated yourself, Jean. I am just u sharing my experience and and my research and everything with you, but you're the one putting in the work, actually learning and consuming. So, props to you. Richard, what's going on, Richard? Happy Friday. Am I too late to buy? What's the cutoff? The cutoff is uh midnight tonight, but again, that depends on on where you live. But you still have a few hours, so you're you're good to go. I dropped the link in the description of this live stream. Also, all my past live streams have the link in it. Pretty much all my videos where I mentioned Tandem have that link. It will automatically enter you into the giveaway.
Um, Hugo Frank, greetings from Argentina. Shout out Argentina.
I bet it's a beautiful Friday over in Argentina. Eric, what's going on, brother?
Good evening to you as well. Where's the link, Karen? The link is in the description of this live stream. When I end this live stream, you can you can click on the video and click the link or literally any of the the videos that I've recently posted on my channel, whether it's a live stream or just my normal videos. There's a tandem link in the description. That link will work to enter the giveaway.
Gene Wright says, "I like Ripple as a company, but not XRP so much." Fair enough.
Um, then pay taxes.
Uh, I definitely I definitely pay my taxes.
Don Ralph, what's going on?
Maybe I missed a comment.
Ah, we're good. Have you tried the Ballet wallet? Is it good? I haven't tried it. I think I I just did a a video where I ranked hardware all the hardware wallets on the tier list. If you haven't seen that video, I recommend checking it out. Um, I own most of the wallets, but I did rank the Ballet wallet. It ranked like the lowest it could rank on my list. Not a wallet I'd recommend using.
And I kind of explain more why in that tier list video.
Uh Mr. Postal, what's going on? Big fan of your content. First time seeing you live. Interesting. I've been going live every day for the past few days. Um it's probably because I'm doing this vertical live streaming and how the algorithm works. If you watch a lot of short form content, I'll pop up on on the vertical live stream. If you don't watch a lot of long form, you're probably not getting my lives. That said, if you aren't getting my lives and you want to join the lives, um, obviously make sure you're subscribed, hit the notification button, and you should see when we go live. But yeah, this is probably like the most fun, at least in my opinion. Of course, I'm biased, but this is the most fun live crypto channel. I just feel like uh we have so many smart people in our community who ask the best questions, and the the questions are what make for a good live stream. So, appreciate everyone here.
You're very welcome, Don.
Um, Chess Light says, "Explain Einstein's theory of relativity in three words or I'm leaving." Um, peace out, chess lights. [laughter] I I not I can't do that. I am not familiar with that. So, I got three words for you. I don't know.
Um, when will crypto rebound? Nobody knows, David. Nobody knows. Jean, uh, if you can use stable coins to use the XRP network, why buy XRP? It's a good question, Don.
Jean, pay your taxes. Bought Tandem today. Have I automatically entered the giveaway? Um, maybe. So, the only way that you're automatically entered into the giveaway that ends tonight is if you arrived on the Tandem on the Tangent website through someone's affiliate link. So, you can't just go to tandem.com and then buy a wallet. You had to have arrived through an affiliate link and purchase the wallet through the link. That's why I posted my link down in the description. You still have a few hours to do that. They also have their um massive sale going on right now.
Also, any wallet you buy using my link, you're already getting free Bitcoin instantly. And uh if you spend over 89 bucks, you get free shipping. Also, every product you order is one entry.
Uh, so for example, they have a buy 1 get one 50% off on the website right now. If you buy that through my link, um, you get two three packs of cards and that'll give you double entries into the giveaway as well.
Don says, "I want to order a Tandem cold wallet." Absolutely. Again, link is in the description of this video or literally click any recent video on my channel. Go to the description and the first link on all my videos is for the Tangent Wallet. That link will get you an entry into the giveaway and it will apply all the discounts and uh promos automatically.
Jean says, "I bought um I bought a Ledger wallet on your advice and it was easy and smooth." Good.
Ledger is awesome, too. I'm glad that you enjoyed Ledger. That's the wallet that I started with when I first got into crypto.
Um Mr. Postal says, "I have a Ledger Nano Plus. Is that good or Tangente wallet better?" Uh, better is subjective. The Ledger Nano S+ is is a solid wallet. Like, it'll secure your crypto just fine. Um, the thing with the Ledger Nano S+ is that's mainly a desktop wallet. So, you you have to use it with your computer, whereas Tandem is a mobile only wallet. So, it kind of depends on like your personal preference. Do you want a wallet that's more mobile that you can use anywhere on the go uh that's like in, you know, a nice card format if you get the card uh the Tandem card or the Tandem ring that also comes with two cards. Um, if you only have one hardware wallet, it's also worth considering getting another one to diversify your crypto. I have several wallets that I use to uh split up my crypto. Um, so it really just depends. I mean, if you're if you're happy with your Ledger Nano S+, uh, then you're good with that. But if you're thinking about getting another wallet or you want a wallet that is more portable, then Tangum is is hard to beat. Is it wise to move all crypto earned to a cold wallet?
Benny Graphics is asking, "Well, I don't hold crypto anywhere but on a cold wallet. I don't hold crypto on exchanges. I don't have ETFs. I don't have any crypto IAS. Uh, the way that I operate is I am I am fully self-custody.
That's how I operate. Meaning, uh, nobody else owns the keys to my crypto.
I want to be in full control of my crypto. And if you're going to have your crypto in a self-custodial wallet, the most secure option is a hardware wallet.
That's why multi-billion dollar exchanges use them." Um, so I would say that's a good idea depending on where your crypto currently is.
I'm happy you're a follower of Jesus, too. Absolutely.
Absolutely.
I mean, that's the reason that that I'm here doing this. God has blessed me um with this channel and with his business and with uh the ability to to jump on and communicate apparently in in a way that people understand. And so I'm super grateful.
Jean Wright, um, thoughts on BitBox?
Bitbox. Not a fan of Bitbox.
Not Not an enjoyable wallet to use in my opinion.
Hugo Frank received your Tangent wallet today. Nice. Um, did you set it up yet?
I'd be curious to know what you thought.
Um, Slush the Villain says, "What's up with the title? I just got here. What's wrong with Tandem?" Nothing wrong with Tandem, but what I've been talking about for the last several days is today is the last day. It's the final warning uh to enter Tangum's giveaway. The top prize is $5,000 in Bitcoin. And um yeah, today's the last day. It ran from May 5th to June 5th. And all you have to do to enter the giveaway is purchase a Tangent wallet using an affiliate link.
My affiliate links in the description.
And there's a hundred different prizes they're giving away. They're going to announce it on July 5th, a month from today. I'll make sure to post a blog article with the winners as well. And yeah, that's the the final warning.
Whitmer 73, I've had a Ledger Cobwallet for a long time. And yesterday, I received a letter in the mail from Ledger giving me a QR code saying, "You need to update my Ledger to do quantum computing. I know it's a scam."
Absolutely, it's 100% a scam. No hardware wallet company is ever going to um to send you a letter. They're not going to call you. They're probably not going to even email you unless you're signed up for like their newsletter, but I have the same thing except mine came from uh Treasure.
Obviously, don't scan this QR code. This is a scam letter that I received as well. Mine was from Treasure. I'm sure I'll get the Ledger one here shortly.
It's better if a cold wallet is 100% airgapped or it's really not necessary.
No, airgapped wallets are not more secure. Uh the airgapped term is pure marketing and most of the wallets that advertise themselves as airgapped aren't even airgapped. Airgap means there's no external forms of communication. Um that could be like Bluetooth, NFC, USB. Some of the wallets that I have seen claim themselves as airgapped use NFC, literally not airgapped. Um, Shift Crypto, who's the creator of the Bitbox wallets, actually, they did a they did a big study um and and they wrote an article about airgapped wallets and yeah, they really don't provide any additional security, but they do add complexity to assigning transactions because there's more steps involved. So, that in itself can be a risk if you're a beginner to crypto and you're trying to use an airgap wallet. Uh, you could end up making a mistake, which is how most people lose their crypto anyway. So, um, you know, if if you're a more advanced user and you like the idea of having like an air gap wallet and scanning QR codes, nothing wrong with getting one.
They'll secure your crypto. Is it necessary or is it more secure than a non-airg wallet? No.
Um, I use your Skrilow link. Nice. Thank you so much. I appreciate that.
Um, Gan Wright says, "What I like about you is you do not say buy this or that. You simply want us to be educated." Yeah, I mean, education is key. I definitely, you know, I talk about wallets to buy. I have affiliate links, but um, if truly if I'm not providing some sort of value, I just I don't feel good about it. Uh, like it's not even fun. If I'm not providing some sort of value, it's doing this isn't fun. So, I have to provide value. There's just I can't not. It's in my blood. I just have to do it. Uh, but I appreciate that. Best crypto card. Uh, recommended. Are you talking about a crypto debit card or like a credit card or you're talking about a hardware wallet? Because they're two different kinds of cards. If you're talking hardware wallet, I mean, obviously Tandem is my favorite. Uh, runner up would be Arculus as well. I like Arculus.
If you're talking crypto credit or debit cards, I don't use them. But I would say the one I am going to use, I'm waiting to have access to it, is Tangent Pay, which you get when you get a Tangum wallet. Tangent Pay is a self-custodial debit card um that you set up in your Tang app. They'll also have a physical card soon, and you can spend it at over 100 million uh Visa terminals worldwide.
It's a it's a self-custodial debit card, so nobody owns that crypto. You are in full control of your crypto.
And you can spin it literally like at any store. You can get gas with it. You can get Taco Bell with it. Like whatever. So I would say Tangent Pay is pretty cool. Does Tangent wallet support um ICP?
Um um let me let me check. I don't believe so. The last time I checked, which was a long time ago, it didn't.
But let me check again if I can. and they changed their website. So, I don't think um I would check on my phone, but I'm live streaming on my phone right now.
That's how I usually check. And I don't think my other phone is Let's see.
Oh, it is turned on. Let me see though.
See if I can look real quick. Okay. I got my other phone right here. So, I just don't like using it because it's Android and I I'm not going to lie, I'm an Android hater. I do not like Android phones at all. It pains me to use them.
ICP, yes, Tandem supports ICP. I'll show you. It's right there. Internet computer protocol supports the native network, uh the Ethereum ERC20 version and the the base version as well. So, yes, Tandem supports ICP.
Don, you're welcome. Benny Graphics, you're very welcome. I use Kraken. It's okay so far. Kraken is is okay. I would agree. I like Kraken. Thoughts on Cold Card Q? So, I'm kind of biased. I don't like Bitcoin only wallets. Um, so like any Bitcoin only wallet, I'm I'm already kind of turned off because I don't I hold more than Bitcoin. It doesn't make much sense to me. I know for some people it does. For me, it doesn't make much sense to use a Bitcoin only wallet. Uh, Cold Card Q, I think it's ugly. It's a a big calculator. It's bulky. It's not discreet. It's not sleek by any means.
Uh if you like that kind of nostalgic calculator look, you know that that's um you know it is what it is. But um like cold card Q, it's fine. It'll secure your Bitcoin. Do I think there are better options? And I would I use a lot of other options before I get a cold card? Absolutely. I would use like a treasure wallet. Even Treasure has a Bitcoin only firmware if you're lack that concerned about it. I would use a Ledger over cold card. Um there's lots of other things I'd use.
What's my favorite crypto pay card besides Tangent Visa? I don't I don't have one because I haven't used any crypto payment cards, but I do plan on reviewing them, at least looking at what they offer and doing a review soon.
Hugo, you haven't set it any says hallelujah. Absolutely. Hugo, you haven't set it up yet. No worries. If you need help, I do have my Tang Wallet user guide on my channel and it's also in the description of this live stream as well. Shows you how to set it up, transfer crypto to it.
Um, hey, might have come late. What's the main concern with Treasure Wallet?
Thanks for cold storage promotion over the years. Uh, the main concern with Treasure, I don't I don't think there's any main concern that I'm aware of. I mean, recently their Tropic Square One chip, their uh, Ledgers security team found a vulnerability in the uh, Tropic Square one chip, which is in the treasure safe 7. But the vulnerability doesn't it doesn't mean the wallet isn't secure. Um, treasure uses a multi-chip architecture. So that has two secure element chips and that's kind of the whole point of open source the open source chip is the cool thing about open source is vulnerabilities are discovered quickly so that they can be um repaired and that's called hardening the wallet.
So uh any vulnerabilities that are found and fixed makes the wallet more secure.
So that's what happened recently with treasure but it didn't affect its actual security security at all. In fact it's working exactly how it's designed. So, uh, Jean says, "I am older and you have just explained the mechanics of moving crypto so plain and easily with your videos." Cool. I'm glad to hear that.
I'm glad that you, uh, you find it easy to understand.
Uh, Benny Graphics, do you think exchanges like Coinbase and Robin Hood will remove crypto from their platforms?
Isn't that the whole point of holding crypto on exchanges outside um of having full custody of crypto?
Well, I don't think uh I don't think Coinbase and Robin Hood will remove crypto. I mean, Coinbase is a crypto exchange, but they do remove certain tokens and coins like if they're not meeting certain uh expectations that they have for cryptocurrency. They delist them. That doesn't mean you the the crypto disappears. Crypto doesn't live or exist on exchanges. Uh crypto only exists on the blockchain. Exchanges and wallets are just tools that are used to access and manage crypto. But exchanges can freeze your funds. They can lock your account. We had one subscriber who had $25,000 on Coinbase.
They froze his funds and then closed his account. So, he actually is down $25,000 right now. I hope he gets that back. Um, but the point of self custody is so that no one can close your account, freeze your funds, or do any of that.
Uh, will for crypto, do you know what Tandem is doing to prevent quantum AI hacking? Uh, the quantum threat has been a threat for like the last decade. Uh, so people have been talking about it forever. It's not up to the wallets to make crypto quantum proof. It's up to the blockchain developers. So, Bitcoin developers, Ethereum developers, uh you know, Ripple, like it's up to them, the network, the people behind the network to um make the network quantum resistant and then the wallets will implement the the updates into their products.
So, um thank you for what you do.
Absolutely, Whit Whitmer. God bless you as well.
Crypto seems like wild west stuff now.
Crypto's always been the wild west.
That's what makes it so exciting and um and fun. It won't always be that way, though.
Um Mr. Pulo says, "Sweet. Thank you for looking into that. Lastly, how does the ring work? I want the ring." The ring works exactly like the cards. There's the only difference is it's a ring format vers versus a card. And the ring comes with two cards. So, it literally this is what it comes with. Um, but yeah, I mean the the the ring just like the cards, you hold it up to the back of your phone to scan and approve transactions. The key is held on a secure chip inside this ring. It's waterproof. It's uh temperature resistant and it's the only only wallet that I travel with is my tandem ring and card. Um, yeah, works it works exactly like the card. So, if you watch the setup video, that setup video and everything I do in that video applies to the ring as well, cuz again, it's exactly the same. The only thing I will say about the ring is you can't scan it.
You can't, you know, hold it up to your phone while it's on your hand. So, I can't like go like this. That doesn't work. And that's by design because otherwise you'd be holding your phone and the the little thing would be popping up. It'd be reading the NFC all the time and say, "Hey, open the tangent app." So, to use a ring, you have to first take it off your finger and then hold it up to the back of your phone and it'll work, but that is by design.
Um, Mark says, "Dude, thanks for your Tandem setup video. I got Tang because of you." Absolutely.
>> Yeah, I'm glad you found the the setup video helpful and sounds like you're enjoying Tandem, which is uh super cool.
Link KJ. I thought it was better if the wallet was airgapped because that way the company that sells it to you couldn't have a back door or something to steal your seed phrase. Being airgapped has absolutely nothing to do with back doors. Um that would actually be more open and closed source software which is completely separate from airgap. Uh open source code means that everything that is used to to to build the wallet. So all the code um that is designed like in the firmware and everything it means it's public so that anyone with the knowledge can go and read the code that's how you would tell if there's a back door by looking at the code. Um so that would be an open- source wallet. Whereas a closed source wallet the code remains private only to the company. So technically speaking if there was a 100% closed source wallet and they wanted to put a back door in there uh they could just in theory and no one would know. Uh, but fortunately most of the wallets on the market have been audited and and all that stuff. So yeah, Airgapp is is pure marketing.
Uh, Siri says, "Thanks for the discount code. I got a good price. Two sets of three cards plus free shipping and giveaway promotion." Nice. That's the best deal that's going on the website right now. And like I said, today's the last day to to enter the the giveaway.
Top prize is $5,000 in Bitcoin. Uh, it's the Tandem wallet giveaway, some iPhone 17s, $50 Bitcoin prizes, $10 Bitcoin prizes, Tandem rings, and Tandem uh, Pro kits. And the way you enter that giveaway is simply buy a Tandem wallet using my link, which I dropped in the description of this live stream. You can also find it on that link in any of my videos on my channel. Um, but that ends tonight. So, you have a few hours to take advantage of that. And um they also have a huge sale on their website that looks like it's going beyond today, which is 20 to 50% off. Plus, you get free Bitcoin with any wallet you order.
So, Will says, "I had trouble transferring XDC from Kraken Tandem. Do you know why?
Kept coming. Invalid address." Um, two reasons that would cause that. One, you're either copying the wrong XDC address from Tandem. So, you need to make sure you're sending XDC on the same network uh on Kraken that you're receiving it on in Tandem. Um the other op the other likelihood or possibility is that you need to uh you're not entering something there. There's a memo tag spot when you're sending crypto to a cold wallet like Tandem. You don't need a memo tag, but crypto exchanges still require you put something in that space.
So, if you just put a zero, it will go through. Uh Michael says, "What about Exodus?" Exodus is a hot wallet. Hot wallets aren't designed to secure or store your crypto long term. It's a those are good for like interacting with potentially sketchy platforms. If your goal is to actually secure your crypto, hold it long term, you want to get a cold wallet. Um like Tandem, Forever Forgiven, what's going on? Long time no see. Uh God bless you as well, brother.
Thanks for the Tandem setup video.
You're welcome, Mark.
Uh Forever Forgiven, so glad I listened to you with the tangent. My ledger has started with the battery issue and now I uh now I have one being sent to me from the company. Um nice. Well, at least they're taking care of you. That's that's good to hear, honestly. But I'm glad you had the tandem as a backup, too. Do you think the Clarity Act is simply a fiat bank protection act or is that not something you want to talk about? I'm not like super educated on the Clarity Act. I've made a video on it before. Uh, I try to read stuff when it pops up, but um I think any crypto laws and regulations that pass are definitely helping out um you know, whoever is it's helping out the agenda of of the world that we live in. So, they're not going to pass something that wouldn't benefit them in some way.
Uh Kraken card from Kraken gives 2% cash back. Hey, pretty good. Pretty good.
What about claiming pre-sale coins? Do you have a video for that with Ledger Flex? I don't. Uh, if you're claiming pre-sale coins or airdrops, be very careful. A lot of those are scams. I would not use my main cold storage wallet to claim those coins because you could potentially sign a malicious transaction and your wallet could be compromised. If you're going to claim pre-sale coins, I would use just like a hot wallet if you if you don't have another hardware wallet like MetaMask or Phantom or whatever. And then once you get the coins, you can transfer them to your cold wallet. Have you released a video on UTXO basics management? If not, would I consider it? I have not released one, Kevin. Um, would I consider it?
Yes, I'll consider that. I think the ring is actually funny. Um, interesting, but married to your crypto. Yeah, I'm definitely not married to my crypto, but um, the ring is cool for sure.
Sandman, hey, we've been trying to reach you regarding your car's extended warranty. Uh, you know what? Actually bought the 120ear warranty. It was a great deal. It cost uh three times more than my car, but um I just it was such a good deal, I couldn't pass it up, so I do appreciate it. But um I'm good.
Um that said, guys, I really got to jump you. Again, you've got a few more hours to enter the giveaway using the link in the description. Also, the sale goes on for a few more days. Um God bless. Have a great weekend. Stay safe and peace.
