[00:00:43]This was normal behavior for brutalized soldiers.

[00:00:46]In this case, it was intensified by their recognition that this man was innocent.

[00:00:52]His innocence made them feel embarrassed because they recognized their lack of compassion compared to his.

[00:01:00]This torture was also public for all to see what evil did when with innocence.

[00:01:06]It reflected the abuse of children, women, weaker people, and animals.

[00:01:11]It was not new, but intensified to an extreme form in the treatment of the kindest man who ever lived.

[00:01:19]This message was about the inevitable result of rejecting love.

[00:01:23]In the rejection of mercy and compassion, we open ourselves to evil, the desire to dominate and to control those around us.
