Physical assault, even when committed in the heat of an argument, can result in criminal charges and legal consequences. In this case, a 24-year-old woman was arrested for simple assault after striking a man in the forehead during a dispute, and her charge was later downgraded to a disorderly persons offense, resulting in a $340 fine as part of a plea agreement.

>> What's up, man? What's going on?
>> Um, this is a guy playing him. She was drunk. I don't really I'm not a girl. So when she gets drunk and like I said my daughter I told her I wasn't trying to come out at 2:00 in the morning. I said it wasn't much we like 4 minutes I got that please be outside at 2:00 in the morning.
She she was in the car screaming and like I told her I pulled in here before I stopped. She jumped out the car. She fell and I think she jumped out the car.
She fell and after that she slammed my car door. The first time she did it, I let it slide. The second time I said pushing me off. The second time she slammed my car door. That's when I got out. I did push her. I'm not going to lie. I told her I pushed her and then she she decided, you know, she wanted to she anno me and stuff. Like I said, I'm not pressing no charges. I'm not worried about it. I don't know. I don't really care about me yet. But yeah, she been shooting on me or whatever. And after that, I pulled off, but I wasn't going to leave her. She didn't know where to go. So, I came back home. And then she said, she said I took her phone. She texted me as I pulled off and said, "What?"
>> Is that her phone on the ground over there with the geek bar?
>> Yep. She >> What are you guys dating or anything?

>> Yeah. We're going to have to That's what he's saying. Uh is she admitting the hitting the verbal?
>> It was all verbal. She said she jumped out of the car in the highway and he pulled me here.
>> I drove by that way. They were at the back of the car.
>> They were already out of it.
>> Yeah, they were right here. Parked out of the car arguing. I throw my lights on. I pull up. He walks up to her, starts grabbing her bag right in front of her. And then that's when I jump out and I told him to go over.
She said it's an argument over spending time together.
No, we don't. We don't do anything like that.
>> This is her ID.
>> Okay.
>> I didn't run her anything yet. She just gave it to me.
>> Okay.
>> Um when I drove by, they were out of the car arguing.
>> Okay.
>> I pulled up. He walked up on her, started like grabbing her bag and stuff.
>> Okay. She said she drank a little bit.
>> They were all girls were like spending time together. Okay.
>> Or spending time with their kid who's in the car.
>> Okay.
>> And that's boyfriend baby daddy.
>> I gota if if it's any consolation like it wasn't to the point where like >> verbal >> he put his hands on me like I get I get angry and everything like that. Like argue with me going to the I stepped out the vehicle. I'm not going to lie. I probably shouldn't have stepped out the vehicle in the middle of the road, but I didn't.
his fault. It's not his fault. It's my fault. And I'll take the I'll take the blame. It's I'm sorry.
>> You're good.
>> No, no, no. I'm really sensitive. I'm very sensitive. I'm >> sensitive right now. So, at the end of the day, >> you think your phone might be at work still or >> No, that phone is somewhere around here.
There's a phone in the lot over there.
>> I was about to say that phone is somewhere around here. I KNOW IT'S somewhere around here.
>> Give me one sec. I'll grab it.
>> Anything like this ever happened before?
>> No.
>> No.
>> Oh, no. It's me. It's me. It's me. It's just that it wasn't a good day today. My my my neck. Thank you, baby.
>> My neck. I got to move my lip on you.
>> Yeah. Go ahead.
>> Okay. Thank you. My vape, my neck, everything. Not my Sorry. I my neck my neck everything's hurting. Like it's a lot going on. This should never like it should never happen. This is my fault.
Like I'm not going to lie to you. I don't So I take certain like >> but it's like I sometimes like I get angry and I take that [ __ ] too far.
>> I got you.
>> And I should never dropped out and and like came up. But um I'm I'm not going to lie, I'm a little I'm a little crazy.

>> I got you.
>> We don't get in arguments like this. We haven't get in arguments at all for like months.
>> Uhhuh.
>> But it's just like I I don't take this responsibility.
I I I spazzed out a little bit because at the end of the day, like I take respect a certain way and if somebody don't talk to me a certain way, I spaz out.
>> I got you. I got you.
>> I shouldn't be like that. But at the end of the day, like I' I've been dancing for 4 years. I've been sitting here doing a lot for 4 years. I've been sitting here working hard for 4 years. I've been sitting here doing a lot for four years. I got a baby in that car. You feel me? It's a lot going on.

He barely getting out there. All he do is smoke a little weed at home. He don't even do that.
>> There you go.
>> So it's like I know I'm responsible. I'm not not I'm not fully responsible because I'm sensitive, but at the end of the day, like I know I'm a little bit responsible for this for this altercation. I'm just fine.
>> I got you. And where are you guys coming from?
>> Well, he's not coming from there, but I'm coming from >> Okay.

>> Okay. Got a little bit of a ride.
>> A little bit. That's what mean we be sitting in. We will sit in silence and we will stay in the car for a long time.
We don't care.
>> It's just that like me personally.
I got to speak on it sometimes.
Sometimes I got to speak on it >> because it's like why are you I'm not even going to talk about it cuz you you like >> I love him. I love him to death. I love him. I didn't want to stay here and >> but >> yeah, >> it is what it is.
>> It's all right. It happens, you know.
>> I hate [ __ ] >> I should be one of y'all.
>> Yeah, >> that was good. Nothing physical, nothing like that. Nothing crazy. Okay, good.
Not too crazy. Nothing too crazy.
>> Gotcha.
Oh, that was your window wipers. I was like, >> I thought somebody went up and was like window down.
>> Yeah, it was a window.
>> No, it's not so crazy. It's like I know him.

>> What's going on? What's kicking? What's that?
>> Little wild night tonight.
>> I wish it was I wish I made some money tonight.
Um, so we're just kind of sorting through everything, trying to figure everything out. Uh, we got a job to do.
So, um, >> what' you guys tell this officer? I'm just trying to hear both sides.
>> At the end of the day, we had an argument. We had a altercation.
>> Okay. Um, >> officers interviewed the male driver of the vehicle and he told them that the other woman, 24year-old Ariana Mullenax, was the mother of their 2year-old daughter inside the vehicle.
He was driving to pick her up from work and they got into an argument. At some point, she exited the vehicle and he pulled into the parking lot of the Holy Family Church. They continued arguing and she eventually touched him on the forehead while in a state of intoxication. Based on the visible marks on his face, it was determined that Ariana would be placed under arrest.
>> Highway should have did that, but something's a little wrong. Meaning, >> um, at the end of the day, like this is my fault. If you want it, it's my fault.
I I so >> it's not I put I put my hand on you like I'm not going to lie to you.
>> No kind of wear it's where it's like it's like a you know what I'm saying?
Get on my way type [ __ ] But for me it was like don't >> don't touch me.
>> I got it.
>> So I kind of like >> you hit him with a closed fist, open fist.
>> I don't know when he went.
>> I mean either way. So >> No, I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.

>> Right. So at the end of the day what he's saying he's got more on his back even without saying it. Yeah, he got Yeah, he got no >> but we have We're all on body camera. We have >> I know.
>> So, um what we're going to have to do is you're going to have to come in.
>> You can arrest me.
>> That's okay.

>> We'll go from there. All right. So, my partner's going to push cuffs on you.
>> Wait, wait, wait. Close my bag. Close my bag. Bag in your car. Take that [ __ ] >> We'll we'll close it for you. All right.
