To divide any number by 11, multiply the numerator by 9 to determine the repeating decimal pattern; for proper fractions, the decimal starts with 0 and repeats the multiple of 9 (e.g., 1/11 = 0.0909...), while for improper fractions, convert to mixed number first and apply the same rule to the remainder (e.g., 27/11 = 2.4545...).

Division by 11 is FUN II Table of 9 Used in Division II Non-Terminating Decimals II Magic MathsAdded:
Hello friends. Welcome to Suresh Agarwal's mathematics shortcuts. So, how many mathematics short tricks you know and how many you have learned till now?
Let me know in the comment box below, okay? So, I need to know how many of you feel that you are well prepared for all types of Olympiads, all type of competitive exams, placement exams, university entrance exams. How many of you feel comfortable that you will be among top 1% people who are going to crack those quant exams in the first attempt?
I would love to know that in the comments, okay? If you are not well prepared, I'll tell you a very, very interesting way out. Not very difficult, but you need to be ready for that. But, let me first tell you what I have for you all of you in this particular video.
Here we you can see we have a special video where I'm going to take up division by 11. And you know, division by 11 actually is so much fun.
And when I demonstrate to you in this particular video, you will realize yes, it is fun. And that's what makes mathematics a joyful subject and you know, really, really quick to handle.
When I say quick, so many of the students will be like, "What? Maths is full of numbers, formulas, calculations, but it's not so." When you are smart, then you can handle everything very, very smartly. So, I will tell you the division by 11 fun and we are going to learn this in a fun manner only. Before that, let me crack the mystery. I told you the logic is very simple and the logic is here. We have released the ultimate guide to speed maths volume one and volume two.
Oh, 350 short tricks. And you know, you are having your summer vacations. All those students who are studying in class 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 excel yourself in this summer vacation.
If you are a parent, don't let go this amazing offer of speed maths books for your children and gift them this in this summer vacation so that they can develop those tendencies, you know, which will make them uh come in the top 1% bracket of students.
350 short tricks, as I already told you, 2,400 practice questions, 1,300 practice questions in volume two.
Hundreds of videos also, videos links given for reference. NTSE, school Olympiads, banking, railways, everything will become easy if you buy this amazing amazing ultimate guide to speed maths.
Let's have a look at them. Here we are, the two volumes of this speed maths combo. Friends, don't wait. This is the WhatsApp number, 9896369963.
I tell you this is going to be something you are going to cherish throughout your life and this product, I don't think you must have seen anywhere.
Uh I'll tell you the salient features in the later half of this video, okay? So, let's first get on with the division by 11 trick.
So, I'll tell you a very interesting thing.
Do you know nine times table?
I think everybody knows nine times table, right? 9 18 27 36 45 54 63 72 and 81 then 90, right? This is the nine times table.
If you know nine times table, let me tell you, you know division by 11 also.
Ooh.
Is it so easy?
And how are these two related? Nine times table and division by 11?
See, for that, I will tell you some more interesting facts.
When you divide any number by 11, you are going to get a non- terminating repeating decimal. I call it NTRD.
Non-terminating recurring decimal. That means something which does not terminate.
Something point something something something. It will It will keep on going, right? Recurring means something is going to reoccur. Something is going to repeat. And obviously it is going to be a decimal, right? I'll give you one example.
Now suppose I have to divide 1 by 11.
All you have to do is to forget division. You don't have to divide actually. So what are you going to do? 1 upon 11 is a proper fraction and so the answer starts with 0. Obviously, 1 is smaller, 11 is bigger. So when divisor is bigger, your answer always starts with 0.
Next, the numerator 1 is to be multiplied by 9. So what is the first multiple? First. First means the numerator 1. First multiple of 9, it is 9 only, right? And two digits are going to repeat over and over again when you divide by 11 and because the first multiple is 9, 090909 is going to repeat over and over again.
Now pick up the calculators and check your answer. 1 divided by 11. Press the buttons. Let me know. Is it 0.09090909?
Or you can call it 0.09 bar.
Because 09 is going to repeat over and over again.
Excited? I know you must be because this is something special. Okay, let's take another fraction. Like suppose if I take 6 upon 11. Now what is going to happen now? 6 upon 11.
>> [clears throat] >> I have to take the sixth multiple of nine. That's it. So, sixth multiple of nine 1 2 3 4 5 6. Sixth multiple of nine is 54. So, what is going to be the decimal representation? 0. And 5 4 5 4 5 4 5 4 is going to repeat over and over again giving you 0.54 bar as the decimal of 6 upon 11 when you divide 6 by 11.
Now, so many of you must be getting that in your mind and it's practical, you know.
What will happen if it is not a not a proper fraction? When it is an improper fraction, I am going to show you that the trick still works wonders.
And before that I told you I'll be telling you the salient features of volume one. See.
Uh dividing, right? So, this is squaring, dividing, everything is there in this. Let me open any random page.
Look at this.
Here we have squaring three-digit numbers using the identity and I have taken numbers up to 300. So, I have given one two examples of demonstration of the trick, then the scan code to watch the video, and then challenge zone to apply this method and solve all these questions. And at the end of the chapter, which I will be opening for you to show you, you will have the proper answer key through which you can actually look at this answer key. You can tell your answers from here. What else we require? Videos, challenge zones, illustrations, everything in a simple simple book. And how to get the book? Amazon links. That is one of the most trusted site through which you purchase items, right? Amazon links are in the description of this video. You can purchase from there, but if you want a hefty discount, you can send me a message on WhatsApp. 9896369963 is the WhatsApp number, okay?
So, coming to the improper fractions. Now, suppose I have to do 27 upon 11, 27 / 11. So, first thing is I'm going to convert it to mixed number. 11 two times is uh 22. 27 - 22 is five, so 5/11.
Now, your answer is going to be two is the whole number part, and after decimal you will have what? You got it right.
The fifth multiple of nine is 45, and so 4 5 4 5 4 5 4 5 4 5 is going to repeat over and over again, giving you the decimal representation of 27 / 11. Isn't that uh you know, joyful? Isn't that Doesn't that actually excite you?
It should actually. Let's see one more.
Suppose you have 200 and 28, okay?
And I need to divide that by 11.
So, I know 10 20 times 11 20 times is 220.
So, 20 and 8 upon 11.
Right?
So, 20.
Now, 8 * 9 = 72, so 7 2 7 2 7 2 7 2 is going to repeat over and over again. So, I'll give you one or two DIY questions.
You can let me know in the comments whether this is working for you or not, okay? So, the first thing is you need to tell me what will be 4 upon 11.
You need to tell me what is 72 upon 11, and you need to tell me what will be 892 upon 11. So, I think all the three questions are going to work very very easy for you if you have understood that trick. Right, friends? So, go for the combo of the short tricks book. Enjoy your summer vacations. Learn something new, and I'm telling you this is going to be gift of a lifetime which you can give to your friends, your students if you are a teacher, and your children if you are a parent. So, friends, thanks for watching this video.
I'll wait for your message in the comment box. Is it working for you? All the best.
