[00:00:00]The movie begins in the city of New Jersey, and we see people having fun on the beach. While under the dock is the city of the crabs, and it is only inhabited by land hermit crabs. They start singing that they live in the best city to enjoy the summer, but that they are always bothered by the tourists.

[00:00:14]Then we are introduced to Arman alongside his friend the anemone, and he says he is too shy to socialize with others. So the anemone tells him that he has to be brave, and that he shouldn't care about what the others think. But suddenly we see that a group of crabs has arrived, and they start inviting him to go out with them. The crabs start saying that many sea hermit crabs have arrived, and that it's too unfair that they can leave the ocean. Then they find an empty shell, and they tell their friends to swap theirs for it, because they are lining up to swap the ones they're wearing. But Arman runs away to keep the one he has. Everyone starts encouraging him, but they can't convince him to swap his shell. His friends start telling him that he shouldn't feel sad, because they understand that the shell was the last gift from his parents. Then they start working at the beach restaurant, and their boss tells them nice to the sea tourists. While in the ocean, we're introduced to Ramona, and she's on her way to the surface to take a vacation with her small family. But suddenly we see that they start getting bothered, and Ramona tells the crabs that her sister is deaf. We return to the hotel, and the crabs are in charge of entertaining the tourists. Ramona is playing with her sister Shelly, and Arman falls in love with her upon seeing her for the first time. Then they call Arman for his water spray service, but we realize he's afraid of being touched by water. Arman approaches Ramona to offer his service, and ends up being surprised that she's such a polite person. Ramona argues with her mother that she wants to explore the surface, but her mother won't give her permission since it's too dangerous, because the inhabitants are from a different species, and they are jealous of not being able to explore the ocean. We go to the surface and discover that the crab Arman is the only one of the inhabitants that lives alone. Arman begins to sing the same song as Ramona, because they both feel that they are different from the others. So Ramona decides that she will ignore her mother, and that she will go with her sister to explore the surface, while Armon gets ready to go to sleep, but ends up being woken up by his group of friends. Then they are on their way to have a night of partying, but Armon is still afraid of being around the others. So, his friend forces him to have fun at the party, and he ends up meeting the girl who he fell in love with. But, suddenly we see that he starts getting harassed by one of the tourists, and that ends up causing them to get into a fight. Then, they start fighting because of their differences, and that causes them to get kicked out of the place. Armon starts complaining that they were kicked out of the party, and feels he was just used to get into the party. Then they start thinking that he was too rude, but the other crabs were waiting for him. They start playing with the shell he was gifted, and Ramona realizes that he is being bullied. So, she goes running to try to help him, but they end up getting hit by a giant wave, while the other crabs are hiding to protect themselves from the wave. But, we see that the city has been destroyed.

[00:02:45]Then they realize that Armon has disappeared, and everyone is worried about their friend's safety. We go to the beach, and we see that Armon has survived, but that he is lost far from the city, and that they are being hunted by a giant person. So, Armon starts running to try to hide, but ends up getting caught very easily, because the giant is gathering them to sell them, and he has different crabs trapped in a cage, where we can see that Ramona was there, too, and that she's happy that Armon was able to survive. Ramona starts saying that she's scared, and that she has to get back to the ocean before she runs out of water. While in the city, the crabs gathered to search the missing ones, and they decide to work as a team alongside the sea crabs. The villain starts singing that he was with Ramona, but that they had been attacked by the land crabs, which ends up causing everyone to start fighting, and they change their minds about working together. We return to the crabs, and Ramona has the idea that she has to attract attention to escape from the cage. Then, they start running to get back to their homes, and the people are afraid by the large number of crabs.

[00:03:40]But, suddenly we see that they're being chased, and they manage to be saved by a t-shirt thrower. Ramona realizes that Armon is afraid of water, and that he doesn't want to tell her the reason for his fear. Then the crabs start having fun at the fairground rides, and they've become very close because of the time they've spent together. While in the city, the crabs keep looking for their missing friend, and they're angry for what the tourist said. We return to the crabs, and they are at a fountain, so she can refresh. But suddenly, we see that it had been turned off, and Ramona thanks him for everything he does for her. While his friend Bobby continued searching alone, but he manages to meet Ramona's sister. Then Bobby realizes that the crab is deaf, and they decide to form a team to search for the missing ones. Armand tells Ramona that his parents died during a big storm, and that since then, he's always been hiding. So, she's happy that he was brave enough to protect her from danger.

[00:04:28]While his friend Bobby is being discriminated against by Ramona's mother, because she considers him dangerous. Then he starts singing that he's always been discriminated because of his appearance, and that no one has ever paid attention to what's in his heart. But suddenly, we see that his friends were fighting, and Bobby manages to get there in time to save one of them. So, the villain says he's going to get his revenge, and we see the anemone arrive to tell what happened. We return to the crabs, and they have become a couple because of their feelings for each other. But suddenly, we see that they end up being judged, and Ramona begins to think that Armand is ashamed of her. So, Ramona decides to return to her family, but she is very weak from her time on the surface. While the crabs are organizing to get their revenge, and Armand realizes they are very far from the ocean. Then the crabs prepare for their battle on the surface because they are angry about their friends' disappearance. But suddenly, we see that their friends have returned, and that Armand manages to arrive in time to save Ramona, which ends up causing her to come back to life, and the crabs to realize that they were wrong. Then Armand confesses to them that they became a couple, and we see that they are accepted by both species of crabs.
