It's a 500 Year Old Swimming Library. It Doesn't Know That. | Case #008本站添加:
So, what do we make of the Greenland shark? Up to 500 years old, possibly older, moves at 1.6 km/h, functionally blind, reached maturity at 150, shows almost no signs of cellular aging, is currently being studied by scientists trying to understand how to extend human life. It was there when every single human alive today was born.
And it will almost certainly be there when most of us are gone. Time means something different to the Greenland shark. And that is the most unsettling thing I have ever put in a case file.
