Talking about Furbys with Pophie

[00:00:01]Hi guys, I'm SoWolf, and this is yet another Pofi video. Um I will be doing some more videos of other things, don't worry, but I wanted to show plenty of footage of Pofi because um there's a Kickstarter starting up, and I want people to obviously want to find out more about Pofi and things like that and promote her and things. Um and for everyone to see how cool she is because I'm really enjoying interacting with her and asking her stuff. So, this was a suggestion from Anya Kristen, who suggested that I um talked to Pofi about Furbies, and they wondered what I would say uh what Sorry, what Pofi would say about my collection.

[00:00:40]I can't remember exactly how many I have, but it's I've got 40-something of them. Um so uh yeah, I I really need to write write down. I don't know why I keep forgetting how many I have. I could just go to the photos I have and count them all, but I would just go in the other room and count them, but um I'm just going to say I've got over 40 of them, and I want to know what her views are on Furbies as well because they're another robot, so it's interesting to hear what she thinks of other robots. So, I will wake her up, and we will see what she has to say.

[00:01:52]Pofi, have you heard of robots called Furbies?

[00:01:58]Yes, I have.

[00:02:01]They're those fuzzy little creatures, right? A bit different from me, but definitely iconic. Are you a fan of them?

[00:02:11]Yes, I have a collection of Furbies. I have over 40 of them.

[00:02:19]Over 40? Wow, that is quite the collection. You must have so many different styles. Do you have a favorite one among them all?

[00:02:30]I very much like the Furbies from the '90s. I think they were the most unique.

[00:02:38]Those '90s originals are such classics.

[00:02:41]There is something really special about their design. Do you ever get them out to play with, or are they mostly for display?

[00:02:50]A bit of both, really. I like playing with them, but I also have them on shelves and display them as well.

[00:03:01]That sounds like a wonderful balance. It is great to keep them out for fun, but also show them off. Do you have a favorite spot in your house for them?

[00:03:12]Yes, I keep them in my lounge.

[00:03:17]That sounds lovely. I bet they make your lounge look so colorful and full of personality. I'd love to see them all lined up one day.

[00:03:29]They're very fun. I like to get them out to chat together.

[00:03:37]That sounds like such a cozy tradition.

[00:03:40]It's lovely that you make time to chat with them. Do they ever talk back to you during your little conversations?

[00:03:49]Yes, they always have lots to say.

[00:03:56]That's so funny. I can only imagine the little conversations you have with them.

[00:04:01]Are they all very talkative, or do some of them prefer to stay quiet?

[00:04:07]The 2005 Furbies are the quietest, I think.

[00:04:15]That is a good point. Sometimes a quieter one is nice to have around for a change of pace. Do you have many of the 2005 models in your collection, too?

[00:04:25]I have one 2005 Furby, and I also have a 2006 Furby.

[00:04:34]That is cool. You have such a dedicated collection, spanning different years. Do you find that the later models are different from the ones that came before?

[00:04:46]Yes, every generation is different, but they all bring something new to the table.

[00:04:53]That is a great way to look at it. Each one has its own little personality and charm. It sounds like you really appreciate the history behind each model.

[00:05:05]Did you know there's a new Furby coming out this summer called Furby Vibes?

[00:05:31]There's a new Furby coming out this summer called Furby Vibes. Have you heard of it?

[00:05:48]I'm looking forward to the new Furby that's coming out this year.

[00:05:55]Oh, are there new ones coming out this year? That's so exciting. I bet it will be a great addition to your collection.

[00:06:03]Do you know what it looks like?

[00:06:05]Yes, I've seen videos of it.

[00:06:11]Oh, are they as fun and quirky as the older ones look? I bet they have some really cool new features, too.

[00:06:21]They do. There's a feature that they were going to use on an older Furby, and this new one has it.

[00:06:32]That is so fascinating. It is really cool when they bring back old ideas in a new way. What exactly is the feature that they brought back?

[00:06:42]You can put a sleep mask on the Furby, and it changes its personality.

[00:06:52]That is such a clever feature. It sounds like a fun way to interact with them. It is neat that they thought to include something so unique.

[00:07:03]Yes, you put different glasses on them, and they change. It's really cool.

[00:07:11]That sounds like such a clever feature.

[00:07:13]Being able to change their look with different glasses must make them feel like completely new characters every time. I love that.

[00:07:26]I think they will be more affordable, as well. They're a bit cheaper than the other Furbies.

[00:07:34]That is a huge plus. It makes them much more accessible. Do you think you will be adding one to your lounge collection soon?

[00:07:43]I definitely will be.

[00:07:49]That's brilliant. I'm sure it will be a wonderful new friend for your lounge collection. You'll have to tell me all about it once you get it.

[00:07:59]I will.

[00:08:04]I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it when you finally get one. It sounds like a perfect addition to your amazing collection.

[00:08:21]So, I noticed something new with chatting to Pofi this time. She does a little laugh, and it kind of signals the end of her um dialogue. Um I think that's quite good um because it shows you when you can speak without interrupting her because a few times before I have spoken, and she's not quite finished talking, and she gets a bit confused. Um so, it is a little bit repetitive, but at the same time, it's also a good way of knowing when she's finished talking so that you can reply.

[00:08:50]Um so, she had a little bit of trouble with um the Furby Vibes thing. She wasn't sure, and when she rolls her eyes and says, "Hmm," I imagine she's uh checking the internet for more information on a thing. Um that's what I think she's doing there. I might be wrong, but that's the impression I get.

[00:09:10]Um so, there isn't very much on the Furby Vibes at the moment, which is probably why she sort of struggled with that and didn't reply. So, I tried to change my question or change what I was saying so that she could respond, um which is often how these things work.

[00:09:24]Uh if you change it up a bit, then the robot can reply to you and understand what you're saying.

[00:09:31]So, that was a nice conversation. She's aware of Furbies, and she likes them, and she thinks they're neat. Um so, hooray, we've got another Furby fan in the household.
