Charges laid against owners of dogs that attacked 11-year-old girl

[00:00:00]An Amesbury dog owner is facing three bylaw charges and a muzzle order after two dogs broke free and attacked an 11-year-old girl and the German Shepherd she was walking.

[00:00:11]One for allowing dogs to run at loose, one for a dog attacking another animal, and one for a dog attacking a human being. And I've also put on a muzzle order for the two dogs that they can't be out in public even on a leash without a muzzle cuz they're obviously biters.

[00:00:31]The incident last Tuesday morning in Amesbury was caught on surveillance camera, town officials say. As you just heard, charges fall under local bylaw rules covering dogs at large attacks or on other animals and attacks on people.

[00:00:44]While no serious injuries were reported, Nina Di Maria and her daughter, Angela Perez, were left shaken after the incident. The attack happened shortly before 10:00 a.m. on the front lawn of their home on Cohen Court in a newer residential neighborhood. It went on for several minutes before it was brought under control.
