This video demonstrates how to interpret weather forecasts and stay safe during rainy weather, explaining that a 100% chance of rain means precipitation is expected, while percentages like 30% indicate lower probability; the hosts show how to read radar maps to track storm movement, understand flood warnings versus advisories, and recognize severe weather indicators like tornado rotation on radar. They also provide practical safety tips including recognizing poison ivy (leaves of three, let it be), proper treatment with cool water and calamine lotion, and the importance of having a personal storm shelter for severe weather events.

>> Hey, Mark.
>> Hey, Dave.
It's a wet one out there, isn't it?
>> Boy, it is so nice, though. Good grief.
It is really nice. We're still getting rain here in Hopkinsville back in Murray. Uh Clarksville's getting some rain. Pretty much everybody has gotten some rain and uh >> you know, I I really do enjoy this. This is a good day. Um it has really helped a lot. And we see that uh wow it's raining down there at land between lakes looking over towards I think that's sparkly lake from Bumpus Mills and uh let's see if we can find one a little bit better. Here's one should be looking over at uh Stewart County and that's Kentucky Lake there we're seeing.
>> You see the clouds maybe a few little breaks. Not much though. You can see the heavy rain underneath these off to the right. Um, so yeah, there lots of rain around and um I measured as of yesterday morning. No, yeah, yesterday morning 3.1 no 3.3 ines in my rain gauge and I know we've got at least another inch since then. So we've gotten around four inches in my gauge. And what do you what do you measure? Well, um I measured mine this morning and combined total from the previous couple of days, uh totals was just over three inches. So, you're hitting about right there. And I know we probably gotten close to an inch today.
>> Yes, it has been raining pretty steadily off and on, dodging the showers. I got wet a couple of times. I did get my ears lowered a little bit. [cough] >> [laughter] >> I swear I was trying desperately to find somebody to cut my hair and uh stumbled upon the hair studio over there next to Dr. Helsley and they got me right in.
Man, I am so tickled. But at least I've got it cut and now I won't have to do it again for what, two or three months.
Um so tell us about the weather.
>> Okay. Well, I already see somebody asking about they're planning on a zoo trip tomorrow to Nashville. What do y'all think? And I think they're gonna get wet.
Uh we've got a 100% chance of rain today. Um dropping to 90 to 80% tonight.
Uh tomorrow, you might be able to get your trip in. It's a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms uh before noon. Then a chance of showers noon to 1. You know, they go through whole that whole routine, >> right? Uh Saturday night, uh we start off with a slight chance u of rain through the night. Then Sunday picks right back up to 70% chance of showers.
Sunday night, 60%. Memorial Day, 70% all the way. As far as the forecast goes, we've got rain in the forecast every day.
>> I know. I planted some trees yesterday because that's what I was waiting for for the moisture to get down into the soil. Good. And it is. It's down in there good now. And um even some of them had water standing the bottom off. Okay, this is nice. I had the holes about two foot deep. And uh I guess I picked the right time, but feels like I pulled something. I could barely walk this morning. It's gotten better as the day went on. But um man, it is so good to see rain out there and just so thankful for it. Uh we still, you know, just because we got this amount, we're not out of the drought yet, are we? No, we're not. I mean, the the last projection I saw was calling for a need for 13 inches in one month to get out of it. But if it keeps going like this, it'll definitely make a dent in it.
>> Yes, it will. U several are on with us.
There's Keith Thomas. I saw Mike Slater on with us. Eric Break and Ginger Major, Courtney Hecker, Darlene Tumi, uh Buffy Wade. I'm glad to see you guys. I know it's been uh it's been a little while since uh well I did a Facebook update just a little while ago. I'm a little late getting it done, but I did get it.
Um and uh just letting you know kind of how things are. We've got some special things on here that we haven't done before. I'm going to show you here in just a few minutes. Uh but we're making improvements on the channel and and I've got some going on. I've got some new sponsors hopefully going to be coming on soon. I'm really excited about some of them. Um, uh, let's see here. Mark, they say you're echoing bad.
>> She's the only one who's mentioned it.
>> Okay. So, anybody else hearing an echo from Mark?
>> I haven't changed a single setting. So, >> I do hope somebody checked the audio on these special features we got coming up.
We're going to talk poison ivy where >> I have an echo. How do I have an echo?
>> Nothing else is >> Eric says you do. So if Eric says sounds like he's in a well to me. Mike Slater says. Sakor says yes. But it's not too bad.
U I don't know. Look at and see.
Well, let's see.
So far, that's muted. That's muted.
I don't know where it would be coming from because everything except my main mic here is muted.
Well, um, yeah, others are saying you you got might ought to go back and look at it a little bit. Uh, I don't know where it would be, though. Talk to me a minute.
Let me see if I see anything up here.
>> Test test test.
>> Yeah, >> test test.
>> You're looking pretty good up here to me.
Scroll on down and see if anything else is showing uh in the sound uh settings down there.
>> Test test test anything.
>> Video ninja >> something.
>> Yeah. Mute that and see if that helps it. Whoever changes test.
>> All right. Did that help everybody?
>> Test test test.
>> Okay. Denise Darnell says that's not bad.
>> Okay. Test test test.
>> What song? See a raindrops are falling.
>> Okay. Eric says no echo. Now that did it. It was video ninja. So we took care of it. Okay. Good. I'm glad we found it >> now.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. It shows like it should now.
Yay.
>> Yeah, I'm I'm glad to see that. Um, let's see here. So, there's Kroger, John, Brian on with us. Tammy Tatum, Evan Miller, >> Denise Darnell, and Sakor says, "Sing a song. That would be perfect, Tammy.
>> We got We got to do something to him." I swear. I don't know. He He's done got too canankerous in his old age. But he does good work.
>> Yeah, he does great work. He says, "So Mark isn't going to sing now." Dang it.
Thank you, Buffy. Thank you all of you for helping us with that. I appreciate it. So, now we are back and good. Okay, we got a lot of things to show you.
First thing I want to show you is we had talked about uh adding fishing reports and and u uh pollen count. So, first thing I'm going to do, I'm going to show you the pollen count. Show you what difference the rain has made.
And here it goes. Where? There it is.
Okay, everybody can still hear me, I'm assuming. U you see that the current allergy stuff is almost non-existent.
That's because of the rain. And u as you see the graph there, you can see where it was really high and then the rain set in and now it's really low to where it's almost non-existent. This is something we're going to keep that updates continuously.
And uh we're going to add this over to the 247 channel so you'll be able to get the pollen count and everything. Uh >> the important part is the forecast for that which is that uh those bar graphs on the right hand side there.
>> Yes. Yes.
>> It's Friday, Saturday, Sunday goes way up on uh >> Monday, >> Monday and Tuesday. Probably this rain is going to cause some stuff that hasn't been uh flowering or putting pollen out in the air to start putting some out.
>> So that's one of the things I wanted you guys to see. I thought you would like to see that. Uh, I have a fishing report.
Uh, unfortunately I didn't I didn't read what the fishing was doing, but I got a fishing report. Let's look at this.
Watch this. There we go. Um, so you can see it tells you it's got light rain over there. Temperature 66.
Got a north wind there at the lakes.
We're talking about Kentucky Lake, uh, and basically Lake Barkley over there as well. U, you can kind of see what the weather is like. Uh, the lake levels. Um the upper is at 359.6 which I think that's about the normal.
Um but anyway look over here where it says largemouth, smallmouth, crappie, bluegill, catfish, white bass, and yellow bass. This shows you the fishing report and u with that you can see largem ba bass the largemouth and smallmouth bass is average you know for this time of year crappies as well. Bluegill says it's not available, but I happen to know that uh this is a they are biting pretty good.
They've just come off the beds. They're probably not as uh not as uh uh active as they were. Um but anyway, it is pretty nice. And I [clears throat] will tell you the catfish, they're on the beds and uh this is about the time of year they do go on the beds. They may be getting ready to come off of them, but catfish is really good. So is the white bass. Uh we call them I call them stripers. A lot of us around here do.
And the yellow bass, but uh usually when you get a run of stripers and everything, you'll see uh shad jumping in the lakes. You just throw a a a hook out there. Um you would really catch some fish. I've caught three fish at a time on one line cast. It's kind of crazy.
But u what else do you see about that, Mark?
Uh they've got a generation schedule on there for when the dams are going to be opening up the gates when they're generating power and uh more gates because a lot of people like to fish in the turbulent water right below there for some water lake water temperature 73. So it's not too hot yet. But I know in the summertime it gets up in the 80s.
>> That's true. It does. And uh so like I said, I I think it would be pretty nice.
Okay. Mike Slater, he ain't right. He says, "You can't fish at M. It's a whole lot easier to catch.
>> They put they put it on the plate for you already dressed." Yes, sir. You better believe it.
>> That's pretty nice, Mike. Thank you for that.
>> Yeah.
>> Uh let's Last time I had that uh uh last time I had catfish over at Moz last week or so, I swear they put a f five pound catfish on my plate.
>> Oh my goodness. I ate the five pound. I know I did. I got two pieces and that was the biggest fish I ever ate in one sitting.
>> Uh I tell you what, it's it's really nice. And and Ma has some great stuff over there. You know what? Real quick, I'm gonna play her commercial just because we're talking about her. And watch this.
[music] >> Daddy's home from base. Memories on the table in that warm Kentucky place.
Oh, M's [music] kitchen homestyle heaven on a plate.
Golden [music and singing] sausage biscuits. Best in all the state. Crispy [music] catfish Fridays. Meatloaf mighty fine. One bite and you're hooked, boys.
Till the end of time.
>> And that is really nice. And you know what? While I'm doing the commercials, might as well do one more. Let's talk about these storm shelters since you may need one by the end of next week. I was seeing maybe some signs of a possible severe stuff coming. So, watch this.
>> Wrong one.
It's a stormy night and the power just went out.
Then you hear it. The distant whale of the tornado siren. Tornadic storms are bearing down. The nearest public [music] shelter is miles away. And they don't allow pets. You should have a Midsouth storm shelter right at your doorstep.

>> And take advantage of that. I tell you, you're going to have get that. We don't have any severe weather area right now.
We'll go back to radar in just a minute.
By the way, this is a big cup of green tea with elderberry and ginger and peppermint. Oh my goodness, some breakfast of champions. Mike Slater says, "I'm just addicted to Ma." You know what? So am I. And it shows.
>> Yep.
>> We've done decided we're going to have to stay away from there a little bit. We gained a little too much weight. But anyway, yeah. Uh S the Sakor's favorite place, too. He he u he has a special chair there she has just for him. Um you can see the good thing about this now we've got where you can see the radar right here above me while we're talking about the sponsor.
So therefore you get to watch and see everything. You don't miss anything. And uh in fact I'll zoom it in a little bit so you might can see it just a tad better. Um, this is basically Hopkinsville, Clarksville, and Points Westward, Murray, and all that. Uh, where the main action >> seen a few breaks in the rain on the radar right now, but then you get down into Tennessee, there's more stuff forming up. So, we're far from being over with it.
>> Yeah. Mike Slayer says he's getting stronger by the day. I'm glad to hear that, Mike. We sure missed you when you weren't on. U, it really does make a difference. I I I don't know. Denise Darnell says, "Yes, her food is wonderful." So, S Cindy's allowed to be on here in a minute. She always likes to pop in, say hello, and if she does, her head's going to get big from all the all all the good stuff we're saying about her. But, uh, next thing I want to talk about, hey, I can't help I can't brag about these guys enough. Just can't do it. Quality privacy fencing. Mark Thompson is one of the I've never seen a fencing company do the kind of job these guys do. I'm impressed. I'm serious. And they did mine mine and I said, "Oh my gosh, I wish I'd known about them back long time ago." But watch this.
>> Every year, storms tear wooden fences apart. Pick it snapped. Post pulled.
Privacy gone in minutes. If your fence wasn't built right, the next storm won't ask. It'll take it. Quality Privacy Fencing builds real wooden fences, heavy average 6-in diameter posts, tight pickets, and braces that stand up when storms hit. Don't wait for the next storm to win. Quality privacy fencing.
Fences done right. Call 270-4843058 for a fence that endures where others fail.
And right now, I know they're a little slow because of the rain. But I'm telling you what, you ain't got to worry about their fencing coming down the wind. That is a strongly built fence.
That was my fence was compared to when you saw that comparison. Mine was the one on the left is all tore up. And that other one is the shot of it after they they came in and installed a new one.
Very impressed with it. And don't forget about my good friends over at u All Clean. Watch this.

>> Okay, so roofing issues. Boy, Michael Vance has it together. And I'm going to go back off the sponsors now. We've done several of them. We're going to come back and do some more here in a little bit, but I want you to go back to the radar.
And there we are. Um, let's see here.
Is that Montgomery County, Tennessee, or is that Montgomery, Kentucky that that flood thing is on?
I can see Clarksville does get is getting some pretty hefty rain, but it's a flood warning.
I don't believe that's for McGomery County, Tennessee, but we'll see here what it says in a second.
Yes. Missouri. Okay, it's Missouri.
>> Flood warning I see for Kentucky is over to the east of us there where they got five inches of rain.
>> Oh, wow.
>> Mezanet >> and they're getting some good rains up around Harford, up around uh uh let's see here, Liverour. Central City's been getting some pretty good rains, too. Uh really everybody's been getting some just great rains. This is something you can't can't hardly buy. Beaverdam's getting some rain. Um >> that's Warren County that's having a flood advisory for Kentucky.
>> Yes.
>> And then several of the counties a flood watch way up in northern up to the northeast part of Kentucky over beyond Louisville.
>> Yeah. I bet a friend uh well it doesn't look like a friend Dave would be in on that flooding up there in that part.
He's close. Well, he might. There's Huntington. Um very well could be a new camera up here at Louisville. Oh, no. This is uh >> that's the nature uh preserve up there.
>> It is. That's right. We look at it real quick. Yeah. Okay. That's nice.
[laughter] Um uh let's see. A warning for Sparta, Tennessee.
>> Ah, okay. I know where Sparta is. I've been there. Let me find a a radar we can look at here close.
>> Come on. I know there's one here somewhere.
>> Well, we I know Nashville's got a radar.
>> Yeah, it's over to the east of Nashville.
It kind of came up out. They did have some special weather statements there before. Now there's a radar indication and uh they said that might happen over in that area. Uh the SBC's got that under a marginal risk. Uh the marginal risk starts right about where we're at.
Goes off to the east and south.
But so far, uh, it looked like to me all the indicators were well off to our east and and down to our south for any kind of >> Okay, hold on. We got >> activity.
>> We've got a camera there. They're trying to find it. It Man, that looks like there's some serious stuff off in there.
I thought I saw it back. Go on back.
Come on. Come on. Back left some more. I thought I saw a funnel whenever they first went on there.
right there.
But it's not I don't guess. I don't know. It's some wild cloud formations. I don't know.
It's not on the ground. Whatever it is.
>> Yeah. Are you looking at the one in Fire Tower Road? Um, yes. I >> see a lot of uh >> upperland fire towire road.
>> Yeah, I see a lot of scud on that and stuff, but I can't really see that there's anything >> that might be that.
>> Certainly some turbulence there.
>> Yeah, some rotational energy.
>> See if I've got another one anywhere close.
this little gadget I got on here. I don't know what that is.
Um, I see another camera. There's one right up here in Sparta.
Don't see anything there other than heavy rain.
2.70.
This one more time.
That's some pretty heavy winds right there. Look at that.
They evidently think that may be where the problem is. Let's watch this just a second.
Yeah, the area rotation they're looking at is just about where that camera is.
>> It's just over that hillside there. If there's one there on the ground.
Yeah, there's not a lot of rotational in that, but there is a little bit. So, >> it would be [clears throat] a lowend tornado if there is one there.
>> Looks like the winds have calmed. So, whatever it was has moved on a little bit right there still.
Probably some rear flank downdraft that's they're getting a little bit out of there, >> I would say. So, >> okay. Well, we will move on.
>> It's off off to the east of our coverage area.
>> Yeah, we don't have any reason to stay with it right now, but uh if anybody was watching, of course, we would try to get back to it, but right now, >> yeah, the action warning just does say radar indicated rotation.
Bowling Green still under that flood war I guess from the rains previously.
>> Got another area of pretty heavy rains about to cross. Well, it is crossing Kentucky Lake right now.
>> Yeah, remember you have to remember all these cells in this rain is moving more northnortheast.
Glad I fixed a double shot of that green tea. [laughter] >> But, uh, you know, this is what we're going to see probably throughout the rest of the day and through the night and through the day tomorrow and everything else is just we'll see storms and showers keep popping up and coming across us and moving on through.
>> This little area down here in Tennessee looks like it's developing. Uh, let me put it in motion. see if we can see if it is in fact developing.
Yeah, it does look like it does look like it's forming up.
>> Yeah, >> that's what would come across us.
Sor says, "I hope we don't get anything serious here tonight because I'm so going to bed in a bit." I don't think I don't see anything serious coming for us other than the heavy rains. Um, [clears throat] it's strange to say flash flooding, but the reason you would get flash flooding is because the rain's coming down so fast, it's not soaking into the ground fast enough. So, that could be uh what you would call uh flash flooding. But anyway, >> hey, there's my sister. Hey, Sheila.
She's handwaving me. [laughter] Uh, let me go up there and look at what she's got over there in Franklin.
It looks like it's clearing out a little bit. A few showers around. So, uh, be more coming though. As you can see down here, might be a little while. It looks like that maybe once this gets through tonight, we'll be a little bit dry in the morning and it'll stay that way. Well, there still be a little chance of showers, but I think what it'll do is uh by tomorrow evening, we got another system coming in, right?
>> Got another system. Actually, it's the same system. It's just we start getting these waves that move across it. So, we kind of dry out for a little bit and then another wave comes through and puts us under back under rain.
>> But you know what? This is a perfect drought buster.
>> It is >> the way it's coming in and >> it is. It's a perfect drought buster.
Hopefully once this is done, we're finished with the drought for a while, >> but hopefully for good. Uh, okay. So, you know, I said I did some tree planting yesterday out in my yard.
Uh I got some pawpaw trees and I've been holding on to them uh because it's been so dry. I thought gosh, I hate to plant them out there in that drought and the holes so dry you can't they don't have any moisture. So, I said if it'll just rain for a little while. Uh yeah, if anybody did say if anyone's in eastern Tennessee, the 24 channel is displaying any warnings to that area, too. So, I'll show you that here in a minute. But I did uh I did get out there and saw that the the holes were good and moist and wet and some of them had water down the bottom up. Perfect time to go ahead and plant them. So, I did and I was having to watch. I noticed there's some poison oak or poison ivy growing over on my property and I uh oh, that's a problem.
And uh but real quick, let me go over to the 247 channel so you guys can see what he's talking about.
Uh there's a story about ticks on there.
So anyway, >> you hit the wrong button.
>> No, that was the that was a 24/7 channel.
>> I thought you were playing that for >> No, it had 24/7.
>> It had the tick story on it. U but it'll come back here in a little bit as soon as this is over with. It won't be on long. It's just a little short about ticks and um I'll show it to you here again a little bit. Uh, but I was talking about the poison ivy and I just absolutely abhore that plant. Uh, let's see here. Eric says he had we've had three inches of accumulation this week via the Kentucky Mesinet. I think that rain gauge messet's not quite right.
Something don't seem right about it. Hey man, what you eat?
Huh? What you eat?
>> Mind your business.
Anyway, SCore says still showing the alerts, but anyway, we'll go back to it in a minute. But I want to talk to you about poison ivy. And I've got a little I did a little story here on this with help of Syakore. And uh anyway, maybe you'll learn something from this about poison ivy. Watch this.
One plant can ruin a perfect day outdoors. This is poison ivy. And here's how to recognize it, what to do if you touch it, and how it's different from its cousin, poison oak. Poison ivy is a native North American plant, often a vine on trees, a low shrub, or a ground cover. The trouble isn't the leaves themselves. It's an oil called irial.
When that oil gets on your skin, many people develop an itchy, blistering rash. [music] You can't catch the rash from someone else's blisters, but you can spread the oil from tools, clothes, or pets until it's washed off. Remember the old saying, leaves of three, let it be. [music] Each leaf is actually one of three leaflets on a single stem. One in the center, two on the sides. The middle leaflet often has a longer stalk.
[music] Growth habit matters. Vine with aerial roots clinging to trees like a hairy rope on the trunk or shrub and ground cover with no support. If you're unsure, don't touch. Use a field guide or plant ID app and keep kids and dogs away from thickets you can't identify.
If you think you touched poison ivy, act within about 10 to 30 minutes if you can. Rinse the skin with cool running water, not hot water. Plain soap helps.
Specialty poison plant washes can help, but aren't magic. Wash under fingernails and wash anything that touched the plant. [music] Clothes, shoes, tools, and pet fur separately from normal laundry if heavily exposed. for mild rash, cool compresses, calamine lotion, or colloidal oatmeal baths, and over-the-counter hydrocortisone if your clinician says it's appropriate. [music] Antihistamines may ease itch. They don't cure the rash. Don't scratch. Broken skin can get infected. See a doctor urgently. If you have swelling of the face or eyes, trouble breathing, fever, pus, or rash over large areas, or if you inhald smoke from burning poison ivy, that smoke can seriously injure lungs.
Poison oak is a close relative. It also carries your rushial and causes the same type of rash. Instead of the classic ivy vine on eastern trees, poison oak often looks like a small woody shrub or [music] ground cover with leaves and threes. And the leaflets can look more loed like miniature oak leaves, especially on the Pacific form.
Outdoors is worth it. You just need a sharp eye. Leaves of three. Let it be.
Wash fast if you're exposed. And when in doubt, step around it. stay safe out there.
>> And I really enjoyed doing that. That is uh a lot of information there on poison ivy. Uh the one thing I did I do want to tell you though is they have when they mature, they have red berries on them which is very appetizing to birds. So you need to get rid of that vine before it produces those berries because the birds will get the berries. They'll eat it and then they'll they'll poop it out.
>> Call that.
>> Yeah. Uh but the problem is that that'll germinate the seed somewhere else. So you might have it stopped in one part of your yard and then next thing you know you got it popping up somewhere else.
Well, that's because the birds. So it's important to kill that vine before those berries form. And hopefully uh uh you won't have you'll eventually be able to eradicate it, but they're hard to get it's hard to get rid of. Um Stephie Rug says she just saw a tornado warning for Tennessee. I'm going to go to the 247 channel now and see if that's uh showing. And there it is. Uh you can see down there in the in the uh radar the red box which is where the tornado warning is and you see the the warning going here across the bottom of the radar telling you where it's located and all the information you need. So if we're ever not on and you have something pop up, you want to check it out, get on there and it'll tell you everything you need to know hopefully. Um, and there's uh the live camera there from the Hopkinsville elevator. We'll show that here in a minute on our channel. But I just thought you guys like to see all this. At least now you know what what this can help you with on this 247 channel. So, let's go back to the radar.
Uh, hold on. Let me punch this off. I always forget to push that button so it'll automatically start again. But uh Stephanie, that's what that tornado warning for Tennessee was. It's nowhere near our area. So we're not really actively covering it, but if there's someone who wants who is curious about it, they can go to the 247 channel and if you're on your phone, you can actually zoom in on the radar. Um which I didn't know you could do that, but I looked at Yeah, you can. I was surprised. So, u anyway, I'm always learning new stuff and I sure do love my my green tea with elderberry in it. It makes you so happy. I got a double shot.
I got I got a big I got one of our big mugs right here. And uh I got to get a handle for it, though. It seems like it's a little hard to hold, but uh anyway, uh [clears throat] so while we're here, if you guys don't mind, we're going to look at some more cameras while we're at it. Um, >> do I want to do that or do I want to do some more commercial? Let me do some more commercials real fast.
>> That flood watch is for Montgomery, Missouri.
>> Yes. Not not uh not Tennessee. Uh, I want to talk about my good friend Jacob Mud over at Mud Wealth. He's sponsoring part of that 247 channel and I think you guys would enjoy it. >> Okay. Also, if you happen to be over in Russellville area, oh, you've got to go to Royy's Barbecue. We've got a new commercial for them. I hope they're watching. I'm going to bring it over and show it to them. But I think they love this commercial. Watch this.
>> Seeking refuge from the storm.
>> There it is.
>> Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
Welcome to Royy's Barbecue.
>> Legendary barbecue, juicy Angus burgers, chicken, and more.
>> And Roy Barcue.
When you're the best, you're ahead of the rest.
[music] And Roco, they truly do have the best barbecue I've ever tasted. I really mean that. I don't have anybody on my channel that I don't believe in. I do. Every one of them are the best they are at what they do. That's why they're on here. Uh, and I got to me also my good friend Taylor Freeman and his father Donnie Freeman.

The storm is tough, but we're tougher.
That's a good good slogan. Uh, I also want to talk to you about um let's see, what was it here?
Let me see. Hold on a minute. Well, there's there's our online store, DPWW.shop.
It is own. Uh, but that wasn't what I was wanting to show you. I wanted to show you Lakeside Campground Marina.
It's owned by Michael Vance. And it's a time of the year when uh he doesn't say he wants to take us fishing. But you know what, Mark? I don't think rain's going to quit for a while. [laughter] But anyway, watch this. It's the hustle and bustle of everyday life getting to you. Now you can enjoy quiet, relaxing days filled with the natural beauty of Kentucky Lake and its abundance of activities. You can find that and more at Lakeside Campground Marina located on Jonathan Creek on the western shore of Kentucky Lake. They offer a selection of lakefront campground sites and a fullervice marina and many other amenities. And I got to admit, this next sponsor is very impressive. Lover to pieces, uh, Kathy Dres at Pampered Pets. If you want your pet to be pampered, it's hard for me to say that. It's like Peter Piper picked a pack of pickled peppers.
[laughter] I can't quite get all the peas out, but anyway, Pampered Pets is a special place. It really is. You and I went up there and they don't have cages. I don't think they've got a cage in there, but uh they they sure do pamper your pet. If you got a place you want to take and get your your fur baby taken care of and and pamper and just they just they they almost won't want to come home.
[laughter] >> But anyway, watch this.
>> Give your pet the pampering they deserve at Pampered Pets. Your ultimate grooming destination. Expert grooming for clean, fresh, healthy, stylish coats for all fur babies. No mats or overgrown nails.
Just confident pets. Luxury boarding and daycare. Always climate controlled.
[music] We do not use cages. Mention promo code 2025 and get two free Pet Alert window decals. Big or small, we love [music] them all. Call 270-889-9494 today.
>> And they just look happy sitting there, you know. [laughter] But anyway, yeah, and get that promo code. definitely mention uh promo code 2025 and you'll get those window decals to help in case you ever have a fire at your house. They can save your uh your fur baby. Um and that's kind of important. Anyway, uh also I want to talk about our locally ownedarmacies.
Absolutely love these guys too. I swear, like I said, I don't have anybody on here I don't believe in. But watch this.
Have you ever stood in a long line at one of those big chainarmacies only to find they didn't have the medication you needed? That's one of the reasons I like to go to a locallyowned and operated pharmacy. The staff knows me there. They know my medications and they're always there to answer any questions I may have. And when I can't get out, they deliver what I need right to my doorstep. They even carry items for my fur baby. Two of the best locallyownedarmacies are Tom's Family Pharmacy on Country Club Lane in Hopkinsville, and Save More Drugs on Fort Campbell Boulevard, also in Hopkinsville. You'll find a friendly smile and great service at your locallyownedies, Save More Drugs and Tom's Family Pharmacy. [snorts] And they really are, it's really nice to have somebody local that you can go in and talk to and that knows your prescriptions and everything, knows you.
Uh, so I would recommend either one of thosearmacies. They are absolutely the best there is. Now, I do want to talk one a little bit here about Finish Line Car Wash. Uh I've been meeting with them about a sponsorship. Those guys are really good at what they do. It they've got a a special price on their top uh top wash with the graphine in it. The graphine is what makes your vehicle beat up. I mean, I can go for at least a couple of three weeks without having to wash my vehicle. But even if it rains because the water continues to beat up, it's because of that that graphine wash.
But they've got a limited time for the Hopkinsville wash only. They have 12 other locations. But the Hopkinsville finish line car wash. Limited time. The price is $15. It's $30 anywhere else.
$15 for that for that graphine wash. I got to tell you, go in there and get that. Tell them you saw it on the Weather and Wisdom channel. Uh that's important because right now I'm in negotiations with them. Tell them you saw it on David uh on David Pal weather and wisdom and um you'll see more things coming from them in the near future. I hope so. Uh but take advantage of that one time limited time uh offer of $15 for that top car wash. Normally, like I said, it's a $30 value. You're getting it for half price. You cannot beat that.
So anyway, I got to say that for him. I thought I'd give him a plug. That's across from Fort Camp across from McDonald's on Fort Camel Boulevard. And uh I think you guys will be very very happy with the results. You know, I have to put sunglasses on just look my vehicle after I go through there. Um it's so bright and shiny. [laughter] Okay. Uh let's see here. Where else do we need time? One more on the Midsouth Storm Shelters. We're about done. Uh oh, and Mike Slayer saying that's $15. It's unlimited washes per month. So you've got you've got to take advantage of that. That's when if you become a member of that club, I think um they have all the details there. Just ask them about it. Mike also takes advantage of it and I know he's very happy with it. But anyway, um let's look one more time at Midsouth Storm Shelters. It's the middle of the night and tornadic storms are approaching. The nearest public shelter is miles away and they don't allow pets.
You should have purchased a Midsouth storm shelter. [music] Midsouth storm shelters offer you the security of having your own shelter at your doorstep. These sturdy and roomy shelters come in below ground or above ground styles. Both styles accommodate 10 people comfortably and will give you peace of mind anytime severe weather threatens. When the weather gets severe, [music] have no fear with a Midsouth storm shelter. Call today at 27-7256020.
Mention the promo code weather and wisdom and you will get $200 off.
Financing is available.
>> And don't forget that $200 off. Um, you know, I do want to give a shout out to, you know, I was really panicking about getting my haircut. It it had gotten so long I thought I was going to have to braid it, put feathers in it to go back to Native American style look.
>> But but anyway, I got to looking around.
Everybody was full. One place stood out.
There was a beacon in the in the rain.
[laughter] Maybe I'm getting a little dramatic, but anyway, hair studio. Uh I called him up.
They said, "Yeah." He said, "Dave, pal."
OH YEAH, COME ON IN. [laughter] But anyway, they did. They got me in right quick. And I mean that that the best job. I'm pretty proud of it. Feels like a 100 pound 100 pound slider.
Feel a little cooler. And so I'm real happy with it. So give the hair studio a call out there. They're located out there across from uh uh on that road going over to the u the hospital. It's uh where shooting tuning law for firm is on. Dr. Helsley's office on that side.
Well, they're on the opposite side of the road. Uh it's the hair studio. And man, I'm I'm really impressed. So, if you guys out there want to find somebody that really cuts your hair good, and I'm not talking about just a beauty shop.
This is a hair studio. And they do a great job. Yeah, I'm talking too much.
I'll just get off of it. But I just want to tell you one other [laughter] one other play. I'm going to hit hit this one more time on Quality Fence and then we're going to look at some cameras and other stuff. Watch this.
Every year, storms tear wooden fences apart. Picket snapped, post pulled, privacy gone in minutes. If your fence wasn't built right, the next storm won't ask. It'll take it. Quality Privacy Fencing builds real wooden fences. Heavy average 6-in diameter posts, tight pickets, and braces that stand up when storms hit. Don't wait for the next storm to win. Quality Privacy Fencing.
Fences done right. Call 270-4843058 for a fence that endures where others fail.
So, give them boys a call while they're not covered up right now because of the rain. Give them a call and get your name in the pot on that. You need to get uh the uh privacy fence done for you and get them on the list to come get you next. So, anyway, um now one of the things we've Let's get back here.
And as you can see, we we're going getting some more rain and we're in a little lull right now. But believe me, if I pull this out a little bit, you can see there's more forming back here in Tennessee. This will be coming up later on this evening. And so we'll expect showery uh weather for a while. Uh but we always been talking about our cameras. So we got some new cameras. I want to look at the Eagles first. Uh let's see here. Put it over there.
What in the world? Okay, that's Owens.
How'd I get Owensboro on here? Let's go to the Eagles. There we are.
>> Now, now we're we're cooking. Little windy. Looks like uh boy, the eaglets, they sure are getting big. They're almost as big as the parents. I'd say if they mature a little bit more, they'll be ready to leave the nest.
>> I don't think it'll be too much longer.
No, >> it don't look like it. Uh, but let's check on the red tailed hawks that we have.
She's got looks like three, no, two chicks in the nest.
Looks like they've been feasting on squirrel. [laughter] >> Yep.
>> Isn't that neat? I got to find it. I I can't remember where this was. I've got to go back. I've been meaning to do that and I've been so busy I haven't stopped on to check out where these cameras are located. I do know this next one is in Colorado. It's the snake uh whatever it is. Uh >> rattlesnake den >> it is. And it's and it says on on the video says undisclosed location in Colorado. They're not going to tell you where it is. I guess because people would disturb him, but there's literally hundreds of snakes that emerge from the den uh every year.
And this is the peak time. I guess we have to look at them early in the morning. I don't know.
They're looking for them.
Every little crevice in there has got a snakes in it. How would you like to walk up there and stick your head in one of them holes?
>> No, thank you.
>> No, not me either.
>> Rattlesnakes are fine as long as I'm not in too close of proximity to them. Okay, we we zooming in on something here, huh?
It's fascinating to watch them.
I guess it is interesting if you catch one on camera. That is on camera.
>> Yeah.
>> And we got a new bird bird feeder. I like this one.
Got all kinds of neat stuff on there.
That is a There's a morning dove. That's a uh What is that back there in the back?
It almost looks like a cedar wax wing, but it's not. Oh, it's a blue j.
>> I was going to say >> that's a blue j. Yeah, that's a blue jay.
>> Yeah, this feeder has a pretty large variety of birds coming into it. It does what I've seen.
>> There's a woodpecker. That's a downy woodpecker, I think.
Yeah, >> we saw a uh yellowbellied woodpecker the other day.
>> Kind of neat though.
Looks like it be a job to fill that up.
Uh what else we got here? Let's look at the next batch.
Uh we got some more barns, I think.
Yeah. No, this is a great gay owl.
There's the adult. Uh we looked at the other day. Just had the chicks in. He's got she's got two chicks, but that's a great gay owl is what it's called. It's almost the size of great horned, but not quite as big.
You don't see these much at all during the day.
Beautiful animal.
>> If they weren't right there on that nesting site, you probably wouldn't be seeing them now.
>> No, you wouldn't.
It was funny how they picked just the right spot to have the chicks.
Hey, look over here. [laughter] >> Says, "No, I'm ignoring you."
>> Yeah.
Oops.
Uh, let's see here. Bos girl says, "Oh no." And Debbie Napier says, "No snakes not even watching this."
Now she says, Bos girl says, "Now I like that. That is a beautiful creature, though. Look at that."
>> Yeah.
>> They're very intelligent. They know everything that's going on.
>> Yeah. Great rodent control.
>> It is.
Anyway, let's go to the next one. Let's see. Which one's this going to be? This is um There's a barnowl up in the >> Yeah, >> I don't know if it's a nest >> corner.
>> I don't know if it's a nest box or what.
We had one of these over here at the salt dome, but it has left now, but it lived there for about a couple of years.
We do know it survived the winter because we saw it after that heavy snow and stuff we had in the ice. So, it survived all that, but then I guess it found greener pasture somewhere.
Now, this this is a free range camera. It's not an aquarium. This is actually in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Miami, Florida. And so the fish that are there are in the wild. They are not aquarium fish. And so they did this and you can you can see all different kinds of fish here. You never know what you're going to see here. Um I looked at it the other day. Some other fish are really beautiful going by. But uh again this is in Miami off the coast of Miami.
And uh it is what they call a free range camera where it's actually that's coral right there in front of you. But uh they're not enclosed in anything. What you see is in the wild.
You never know what you see. There's going to be some strange stuff come by sometimes.
>> Yeah.
>> Those little fish. May, if you're camping at Eddie Creek this weekend, uh, make sure your tent's good and waterproof cuz maybe just a bit wet.
>> Yep.
Especially going into Sunday, I thought that was pretty nice. I like the new wildlife cameras we've got. I don't know why Owensboro keeps popping up. I'm going to go back here and see what the problem is with that. Let me hit it. Okay. It was just punched on by accident. Let's go to Gothic, Colorado.
They zoomed out on it. That's a beautiful shot.
It is.
>> Let's see if Yellowstone has come back.
I meant to have Sakor check on this. I'm sure it's the URL has changed or something. We'll get that camera back at some point. This won't do it today. Uh you saw Orange. Let's look at I wonder if Lakeside Campground's not up yet either, but elevator camera is up. This is Southern Hopkinsville. It looks like pavement's wet where it's been raining, >> but it's not raining there right now. It doesn't appear. [clears throat] So anyway, uh let's see how things are down in Clarksville. This is Providence and uh Peters Mill.
Uh [clears throat] let's look at exit four.
Little backed up going up there. This is Let's see. This is Friday, isn't it?
Here's exit four looking up towards the mall.
Also a little bit busy. I bet you it's really backed up here. This is uh well, no it's not. This is Riverside and second. It doesn't look like it's backed up at all. Moving really good.
>> Yep. It's usually where you >> Yeah, this is usually where you see a tie, but it's not now. Here's exit 11.
Nothing unusual there. Traffic light holding traffic back a little bit.
Here's Madison at Highway. What is this?
What is this? This is in Clarksville.
It's supposed to be >> I don't think so.
Is that That's the stadium that we see.
Is that Houston?
Wait a minute. I see what it does.
There's Madison Highway 76. The other button was pushed by accident. So, yeah, that was Houston.
Allegra Pay says, "Hi, David Mark. Do you have your boats out ready?"
I love it when we were asked question like that because that means we're about to be over with the drive. It's like we got a flood warning for Murray come out.
>> I can see it. Let me go over here and look at that real quick.
Zoom in here on it. See what it says.
Flood advisory.
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected eastern Callaway County, West Kentucky until 8:00 p.m. tonight. Uh minor flooding and lowlying and poor drainage areas.
Uh, let's see here. At 4:51 p.m., radar indicates up to two to three inches of rain over the last several hours. Spots report a few areas of minor road flooding, and this may worsen for the next hour or so despite the heaviest rainfall ending. Some locations will experience flooding, including New Concord.
So, [snorts] there we have it.
say a flood advisory now for Murray and Callaway County due to the heavy rain has been falling there. The heavy rain is now moving up into Katie some fact. We'll be able to see it on the downtown Katie's camera.
Should be able to see it. Uh let's see here. Here we go.
It's not doing too much. Some rain falling.
>> Yeah.
you know, in between all these heavier showers, we are staying kind of drizzly and >> yeah, >> low clouds and fog and all the rest. So, it's just going to be a probably a good night to just uh >> sleep, >> find somewhere warm to curl up and sleep. Yeah.
>> Yeah, it's my kind of night. I had a cramp in my leg there. I'm getting cramps after all that work I did yesterday, so I don't know what's going on here, but I'll be all right.
Uh here is Scottville, Kentucky. Let's see what it's looking like over there.
Also getting some rain.
Maybe storm look like about get ready to move over there. Let's see. That would be maybe not.
Uh let's see. Let's look at uh let's go back to our other cameras. This in Clarksville. This is um pictures. First looking good. Uh let's go down here and look at Tiny Town.
Looking good as well. So, no big traffic types, nothing like that. Uh maybe we'll take a look at our favorite place here in Niagara Falls.
>> Yeah, >> get a good look at I think Hopkins or Clarksville will be fine tonight. I think >> I think so, too.
Um, let's look at Louisville real quick.
They're getting some pretty hefty rain.
Ohio River looking over at the Louisville skyline.
Lots of clouds and rain socked in.
And um, go to Kansas City off to the west.
Like they got some kind of celebration going on there.
>> Yeah.
Little vendor tents or whatever set up down there in the uh >> in the open area.
>> Yep.
>> We don't have Tracy Run on with us. Tell us about it though. Uh let's go to a beach. Let's go look at Myrtle Beach.
One of my favorite places. What a bright colored camera.
Quality looks good. That's a nice camera. Here's Panama City.
Ah, marks Friday afternoon. Panama City Beach.
>> Yep. Be a nice place to be sitting watching watching the waves, wouldn't it?
>> Yep.
I went there when I was in college or spring break that is.
Here's Myar Beach and we were doing a little tour around Um, I'm going to go back look at the stakes real quick. I don't see nothing yet.
Oh, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Was that one? Right. Uh, thought I saw one for a second. Maybe I was wrong.
>> Yeah.
I'm sure if they find one, they're going to stop and focus in on it.
>> Yeah.
You do that and then suddenly yell boo, you're going to have half the chat jumping chat.
>> I wish I had one of those things [laughter] where the the thing comes up in the screen real fast. Everybody jump.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay, we've had enough of that.
Yeah.
>> So, let's go back here on air.
>> And again, watching the rains continue to fall. This area of storms down here has formed a line now.
And >> they're going to move up. Probably just come up.
They may clip Hopkinsville, but wherever they get, they'll train over a certain area. that area will get a lot of rain.
And there's still forming up. If we go back here at the radar down here, you can see more rain forming.
In fact, they have a severe thunderstorm down here in uh this is Columbus, uh Mississippi.
>> Mississippi.
>> Yep.
>> Yep.
But again, so far everything that looks anything like it's might be severe is well off to our south or well off to our east.
>> That's true.
So anyway, I think we're in good shape.
I hope all you guys enjoy this. Evan Miller says, "I'm eating some ice cream and you didn't bring us none." Evan Stanley Ro said that was the line we were worrying about. I don't think there's anything to worry about there.
Stephanie Mike Slitter said you can relieve those cramps by squirting a little yellow mustard in your mouth and swallowing.
Okay. Stand. Hannah is asking if Clarks will be okay tonight. Did you already answer that?
>> Yes, I did.
Tell Hannah we said do not worry.
There's no need to fear. Dave Pal is here.
>> I'm sorry. Just joking.
>> I'm an underdog fan.
>> Hey, you don't look like you don't look much like underdog.
>> No, man. I must had a lot of green tea in that.
Okay.
Well, Mark, anything else? You want to go ahead and give another re recap of everything?
>> Yeah, Stephanie wrote, she would be welcome to come up and meet us anytime that you would like to make an arrangement to come up. We're usually here most, you know, most of six days a week anyway.
>> Yep. uh every day but Saturday normally and sometimes even Saturday. Depends on the weather.
>> But yeah, we'd love to have you and her to come up and we'll give you the grand tour and show you all around.
Might even find a pet cloud in here to give her.
>> Might we got a few floating around.
As far as a recap for the weather again, you know, rain, rain, more rain. a little bit less chance for Saturday, about a 30% chance, but then we go back up to 70% chance by Sunday and on through early in the week. Uh and again, there's a chance for showers and thunderstorms in the forecast all the way out through Thursday as which is as far as our local 10-day forecast goes right now.
>> Right. [clears throat] >> And uh our temperatures today, we were supposed to get up in the low 70s and we got up to around 71, 72. Not too bad.
>> Yeah. But uh uh beyond that, we're supposed to be up around 80 tomorrow, maybe in the low 80s on Sunday and Monday and Tuesday. But then as we head on through the week, we start to cool back down. I think >> that would be with another cold front and that's when we may be looking at severe weather. So we'll watch that very closely. We are aware of that and we're just getting a little bit >> very far into the forecast. We get back up in the middle 80s. Yeah. And again, that'll be right ahead of that next system coming in.
[clears throat] >> I thought I felt something crawling on my headphone cable.
Slap it. [laughter] >> Yeah. You got to watch those headphone cables. There's >> Oh, yeah. Yes, sir. Uh, okay. Well, you know what? As much as I've enjoyed having this time with you guys, it's already we've been on an hour and 11 minutes. So, I spent more time with you than I meant to. Well, no, I'm glad to have spent time with you. Uh, but anyway, I hope you guys have had a great time with the channel. I hope you're liking some of the new stuff we're showing. Like I said, we're doing the fishing report some. We're going to improve on that. Uh, you'll see the pollen count uh come up every time and you'll see that also showing up on the uh 247 channel. It'll stay on there.
>> So, u you'll be able to see some things there. And uh let's see here. Sakor says, "Headphone cable bite you and you become allergic to music."
Uh anyway, uh so with that, I think we'll get ready to close out. Why don't you take us away with your last thoughts, Mark?
>> Okay, everyone. Have a great Memorial Day weekend. Remember, this is Memorial Day. It's not Veterans Day. That's the day for those who served. Memorial Day is when we remember those who gave their all and gave their lives for our freedom and our country. So, if you uh if you get a chance to drop by the veteran cemeteries or something like that to visit someone, uh our condolences for their loss and our happiness that they gave their life and we have what we have because of it. Otherwise, we'll see you again Sunday.
>> Yep. And um if I don't see you here, well, I'll see you here.
Bye everybody.
