Day 329: trying to get rad!

[00:00:11]Good morning and welcome to the adventures of the loaded pickle. 329 days ago, >> I pedled this bike away from Clearwater, Florida, and I am now in Salt Lake City, Utah. About a week ago, some friends drove down in that truck from Michigan to meet me in Flagstaff, Arizona. So, I basically packed Mr. Pickle away in that bed of the truck. But tomorrow morning, my buddies are leaving to go back to Michigan. So, I need to take this time this morning to pack up my stuff because I won't have time to do that tomorrow.

[00:00:51]After two amazing breakfasts, we loaded up into the truck and we are now at Lehi Skate Park.

[00:01:03]This is a way bigger skate park than I thought. They got a nice streetun section over here next to the massive, massive bowl. Looks like it's probably what 15 foot on this end, 20 foot on that end. Huge.

[00:01:19]I mean, that is a massive bowl. That's one of the biggest bowls I've ever seen.

[00:01:31]Yeah, this is sweet out here.

[00:01:35]We're going to have to take a bike from one of these guys pretty soon. I know I said I wasn't going to ride the other day, but yeah, I might do it.

[00:01:54]So, this is like maybe the fifth time these guys have ridden these bikes.

[00:01:58]These bikes are brand new. They're less than two weeks old and we already have a fatality on this thing. So, the bike shop put these awesome Odyssey pegs on, right? But these things have a steel core that's really thick. The bike shop used all these washers which pushed the peg off the axle and only allowed this nut like two or three bite two or three threads to bite. So I don't know if we can see up in here >> and I actually went up to do that.

[00:02:31]>> Those threads are gone. You know what I mean? Like the this was purchased from a professional bike shop, you guys. They should have known. This is kind of angering me. I've worked in the bike shops for a long time. So, either they have really bad mechanics that don't understand how long axles need to be for pegs or they just want to just push product and they don't care what they're selling. You know what I mean?

[00:02:52]>> But anywh who, we're going to try to get this fixed up because we want to keep these guys want to keep riding. Look at they're already shirtless, huffing and puffing.

[00:03:02]>> Dead bud. Yeah. Greg went to do a double peg and spun the peg right off and we're like, "What the heck?" It was only held on by three or four threads. Not even that many. Sorry, guys. There it goes.

[00:04:20]Oh yeah, it's time for a pickle break. I found these at a little gas station yesterday and I had to get a couple packs of them, but I only got the one left. I'm going to have to find more later. These are my favorite pickles of all time.

[00:04:50]One of the coolest things about today is we are shredding BMX bikes with reflectors and chain guards. Can't get any cooler than that.

[00:05:18]>> Looks like it's lunchtime.

[00:05:22]>> Looks like it's not lunchtime at that place. You had to be 21 to even enter.

[00:05:26]There was like three signs right in front of the building. So, he couldn't come in. We got to go find another place for a burger and two beers.

[00:05:52]That place was awesome, you guys, if you're ever in the area. But now we found a pump track that's only like a 10-minute drive away. So, we're going to think about going to ride a pump track.

[00:06:03]So, I grew up in a city called East Jordan, Michigan. We're in West Jordan, Utah.

[00:06:11]>> So, we heard there was a pump track here. And when we pulled up, we found out there are massive, massive jumps out here, you guys. Like massive jumps.

[00:06:24]There's also this cool thing.

[00:06:29]That's like, you know, a massive Land Mover dump truck. You got a skate park over here.

[00:06:36]massive skate park. Like this is a little Well, I don't know if it's bigger than the last one we went to, but it looks more fun. And then what we can't see right now is the pump track that's over on the other side way over there.

[00:06:48]So, this facility has everything. Oh, there it is. There's the pump track right over there.

[00:06:54]So, I'm going to stop teasing you guys.

[00:06:56]We're going to go ride I don't like all this up.

[00:07:46]>> It's so hard to hit that double.

[00:07:58]Holy crap, you guys. I know I said the other day that I wasn't going to ride, but coming to a park like this, this is my first time experiencing an actual like flow rhythm section. What am I trying to say? Oh my gosh, you guys. I'm out of breath. This is awesome. I actually hit the jumps behind us.

[00:08:16]There's a little beginner section down here. So, I started off on that and basically overshot the landings because there's just not a lot of kick to them.

[00:08:24]But then the next section up here, the medium one, it there's they're pretty big, believe it or not. Be a lot better on a mountain bike. I'd feel safer, but I launched them all on the on the BMX bike. And then this little section over here, there's like rollers that go over these big tires. I did that on the bike.

[00:08:43]I thought about getting the chest mount out, but it wiggles so much, especially if I'm on a BMX bike. That wouldn't be a very good shot, you know, very good angle or nothing, but Greg and Xavier just took off on the BMX bikes. I see Greg way over at the skate park now.

[00:09:01]He's on the other side of the whole park facility, so whatever. I'm going to sit down and take a little break.

[00:09:07]Greg just yelled at me, "Hey, watch my line." I think he's coming down soon.

[00:10:19]Well, we're back to the hotel room, guys. That hot tub was amazing. I almost passed out just sitting in it. It was so relaxing. But we got to play in the pool for a little bit. And then a bunch of other people that were staying here came down there and the pool got really busy.

[00:10:36]And then I actually saw somebody like say they saw somebody else pee in the pool. I got out of there. But now it's time to relax.

[00:10:46]Probably just going to have some ramen for dinner tonight. I can't really think of anything else that's easy to cook in here. But I do have a can of that beef barley soup I absolutely adore.

[00:10:57]So, I'm going to make some good ramen tonight. But for right now, I think I'm just going to go walk around, burn off some of my energy, and I don't know how I have energy, honestly, you guys. But I'm feeling kind of restless, so I'm going to go outside.

[00:11:12]>> Yeah, guys, this is one of my favorite meals of all time. Beef ramen with a beef barley soup. Might not look good that good, but it tastes really good.

[00:11:25]Well guys, I think this wraps up today's videos. Uh, was an amazing day. Had more fun today, I think, than we did the entire time. Uh, these skate parks were freaking cool. But unfortunately, um, I think Greg's getting on the road really early in the morning and we're not that good at goodbyes. So, I don't think I'm going to videotape any kind of goodbyes.
