God's wrath in Revelation 16 represents divine justice being brought into a world where there is no justice, particularly for those who are oppressed; unlike modern people who want mercy for themselves but justice for their enemies, God does not overlook wrongdoing, and without judgment and punishment, there can be no true justice.

SOAP Devotion 2026: Revelation 16 - Day 1追加:
So, in [music] this chapter 16, there's a lot said about God's wrath and in some ways I'm going to focus a little bit more [music] on God's wrath in this week than actually what we read in the text.
Um, wrath is kind of a strange idea in our modern world. It sounds really, really old-fashioned.
And what we need to understand is the idea behind this idea [music] of God's wrath is this idea of justice.
And [music] we need to recognize that God is bringing justice into a world there where there is no justice.
And the people that the texts are written to in the first instance are people who are being really oppressed.
In our modern world, we don't think about [music] wrath and justice that much.
Um, I've often heard [music] it said and I've said it myself that modern people want mercy for ourselves [music] and justice for our enemies.
And God is not like that. God does not [music] overlook some things. There are some things that are wrong and we need to understand and that. Um, >> [music] >> Richard Niebuhr once said about the modern perspective on the church is that what the what modern world wants is a God without [music] wrath who brought men without sin into a kingdom without judgment through the ministrations [music] of a Christ without a cross.
And it's really important that we understand that as a modern people, we [music] get away from this idea of God's anger or God's wrath and we shouldn't.
Our modern our modernity, [music] oh, I said that wrong, but you know what I mean. Our modern status doesn't do away with justice.
And without judgment, without punishment, there is no [music] justice.
You and I see it in the world, but we usually want justice [music] against the people we don't like.
And we don't like justice against ourselves.
Let's understand God is just.
And we need to accept [music] that.
