[00:00:02][music] >> When you zoom out, you clearly see the trajectory. The trajectory is that European allies are spending more. I have mentioned yesterday again the German example, but I could mention the Dutch example, the Polish example, so many examples in Europe, Sweden, where we are today, already reaching the 5% including the 3.5 core defense spending by 2030, 5 years ahead of schedule.

[00:00:39]And this is necessary not only to equalize with your spending with the United States, but also to make sure that we have what we need to deter and defend against our adversaries including our long-term threats, which is Russia.

[00:00:53]And the US will play a key role in Europe when it comes to the nuclear, but also when it comes to the conventional.

[00:00:59]But what you will be seeing over the coming time is a step-by-step process where the Europeans step up more, which is really important. The Americans acknowledge this. And within that process, you will always have, of course, decisions and announcements which are part of the longer-term trajectory.

[00:01:18]You know, like like any alliance, it has to be good for everyone who's involved.

[00:01:22]It has to be clear understanding of what the expectations are. And so certainly we'll try to lay the groundwork for that. One of the areas where I think we definitely can cooperate on is a defense industrial base. It is clear to the world and to all of us in the alliance and beyond that we simply are not able to produce munitions today at a rate that are necessary for future needs. That's something that has to be addressed.

[00:01:43]That's something that we can work together on. That's something we want to work together on. I think it's key not just to production, but to interoperability.
