Is Dangerous Pride Vegeta Actually Good? Hello, QC issues...

[00:00:00]Join me today as we take a look at the prince of all saints, Vegeta. I am so excited to finally have this thing. And stick with me because we have a bunch of neck pegs from AFM Customs so we can do some swaps. This is the latest of Vegeta figures and it is the one that introduces all the new stuff. Much like our games begin Goku, which is this version, and bringing in some of our Daima style joints and things, we now have this. Now, downside is this is made in Vietnam just like the games begin Goku. So, we should be seeing some QC issues back of the box. So, you got some figure shots. There's also a very important accessory missing from this one which is so off-brand for a Vegeta figure. This one doesn't do the things on the side. It actually has instructions on paper again. Kicking it back to the old school cuz I'm an old fool. Front of it tells you the accessories. We got to get things beware. Be be aware of problems. I just touched my microphone. Be aware of problems. But this isn't the problem that we need to be aware. We need to be aware of the other problems they didn't tell us about. But anyway, back of the box, this is paper. It tells you the other things. So, what's missing here is look at the hands. You got a decent selection of hands, but there's no I'm Vegeta hand with my thumb. So, they screwed up royally. It does seem odd that these that hand isn't included cuz it always is, but it's not. So now it's not always is. I'm curious. I think these hands are all new sculpts and then then maybe that's why they were like, "Well, we don't want to put in old stuff with the new." So whatever. And as you can see, we have some stuff in here that's not quite what you normally get.

[00:01:41]These shoes. So you can actually do two different sagas of a Vegeta. And maybe you want to buy two and have him with his shoes or just be, you know, don't be crazy and just swap them. But we also get wind windb blown hair, which is nice. Crossed arms, and then your standard set of hands and some face plates. So, let's take a deep look at this figure.

[00:02:12]>> That doesn't matter right now. WHERE IS MY BONE? A >> MAN, VEGETA, I I got to say, you're my favorite character in Dragon Ball. Of course I am. After all, I am the prince of all Sayans. Now, let's get back to what's important. I need to know where Balma is.

[00:02:32]>> Look, I I I don't know how to tell you this, but the last Balma figure that SH Vigorts made is from the Frieza saga.

[00:02:40]>> What?

[00:02:42]She was so annoying back then. How could this be? They finally made the perfect version of me, Prince Vegeta. But the love of my life is stuck as some outdated version. That blasted Kakarot gets a new figure every month.

[00:02:59]>> I know. I feel the same way. But hey, look on the bright side. The only version of Chi-Chi is her kid version from Dragon Ball. So, you know, >> well, that's what Kakarat deserves. I'm tired of him always winning. Today is about Prince Vegeta. So, get on with this review of yours and let the world know that even though I came from the same factory as the games begin Goku, the dangerous Pride Vegeta is superior in every single way. Aside from my easier to scratch shoulders, annoying armor straps, and my huge beaver tooth.

[00:03:46]on by default is his big old beaver tooth. I I don't think this is what everybody's experiencing, but goodness sakes, it it looks bad. I'm Fagito. It's just um it's very awkward. But other than that, the sculpt of the head looks great. And more than ever, I think he's got his crazy indented uh temples, which is such a Vegeta thing. It's usually a black line to differentiate that, but it went hard in the sculpt, which is nice.

[00:04:14]On by default, he's got some fists to do his classic. Oh, dang it. We have the windswept hair, which looks nice. We got a little bit of color in there. It goes from like a gold to a lighter yellow. We have some alternate face plates. A nice angry one with the eyes kind of shifted.

[00:04:34]I like that. Up next, we have a classic openmouth angry yelling. Looks beautiful. This looks fantastic. Really liking this sculpt a lot. Then finally, we have this just kind of stern face with the eyes a little shifted to the side. Looks good. I mean, you only get Super Saiyan. There's a little bit of bleed in the yellow, but you can't see that with your your human eyeballs. We have some crossed arm sloppy goober of a mess. What the heck? See, this is the problem. I I mean, I'm sure we've had some issues with Chinese factories in the past, but it seems like it's just a a guarantee. If it comes from a Vietnamese manufacturer, there's going to be problems. And this just looks very awkward. And having only two fingers is an odd choice for a sculpt. We get some classic fighting stance. And seems like there's a little bit of a wash or like extra paint in these. The sculpt does seem new and fresh. You got these, which could be key blasts or deflecting hands or just a good oldfashioned chop to the neck hand. A little messy, but I think we can clean that up. We got some alternate key blasts for a little bit more Vegeta specific look. And then these new hands look beautiful. So, previously, I feel like the hands were always just very flattened out, but the sculpt is pretty deep. And he's got like like the way his fingers I mean, this is way more anime with the the fingers just kind of all being off the same axis or whatever you would call that. This is beautiful. And like I said, we do have some extra shoes. They look fine. It's whatever for this. It's just going to be building your favorite version of Vegeta. So on by default, he's just got these plain white boots. So depending on saga design and all that stuff, you can just easily pop these things off.

[00:06:11]Hopefully easily. I don't know.

[00:06:12]Actually, I say that, but you never know with these things.

[00:06:17]Uh not too bad. It's probably safer to just add a little heat from a hair dryer and then put these on. I know sometimes with these uh these types of joints, they can be bad. Like my games begin Goku's a mess. Otherwise, look, it's a pretty solid design. I think some people could probably have some like h maybe just not totally fans of this cut in here, but I'm not really sure how else you do it. You have it on that version and then the older style was this was this cut. I think this is definitely more seamless as it goes all the way down versus this just kind of like disappearing in regards to overall design changes. I mean, he's he's definitely shorter. The head sculpts are just so much better. God bless. These older ones are just brutal to look at, especially now. But even when you had like third party heads, this is just not good. As far as the body, I mean, you got a huge difference in the way the shoulders are designed. You had the arms that went into the shoulders where now they overlap the shoulders which is definitely a better look. There's a huge difference in the size as well. These kind of look awkward now. I think this is I think this is great. I mean, as far as a design of a new Vegeta, the this is the most accurate and will most likely give us the best articulation and the best butt in the business. I imagine this is softer. Yeah, like the da the da stuff. I don't think anything else is soft, but maybe we'll I mean, yeah, it seems everything else is a little harder. This windswept hair putting the face plate on reminds me of the games begin where we're not looking at holes that are properly scaled to fit the face plate. So, we're getting a bit of a gap there. So, that's uh that's going to be irritating for sure. Anyway, let's get into articulation cuz this is where things can kind of stand out compared to our previous guys. The head and neck do as much as they need to do. I think it doesn't go into his chest like it used to or other versions have. He looks up okay. So, the neck and head altogether is just it's just fine. There's nothing really to highlight as a good thing. The arms go way up. The plastic and then the joints and everything definitely feel more like the Daima version. So far, a lot of movement happening here with the butterfly joints. The arms go in pretty decently. These little plastic parts on his armor are a problem, though. So, I'm curious if they're just going to reuse some parts and then make like older armor options for him and just to reuse the body. But this this lifts up. They don't talk about it in the instructions at all as if it's like a selling point for more articulation. But the biggest problem is when you start moving the shoulders around, they like they cut right against this plastic. It's like the plastic edges here are way too sharp. and we're getting that matte finish, which is nice. But much like a lot of the Vietnamese matte finish products, they start to scuff up, which is a a huge issue. Otherwise, the range in the arms, great. We have the bicep swivel. We have double-jointed elbows that only go that far, which I hit the mic again. They only go that far, which does seem just mediocre. I don't think it's going to be a problem, but it does seem limited. Ball pegs for the wrists should be standard. body articulation.

[00:09:38]I mean that crunch is okay. This is sometimes the hardest part is separating these joints. So leans back that far, barely crunches. If you take advantage of the stomach and the legs and everything else, then you can get him into his like crazy da level of articulation where he is I have to stretch every day to be better than Kakarot.

[00:10:04]Oh my. Then you get that sweet butt cheek setup which means it can go back.

[00:10:11]It's all very soft. A lot of rotation in there side to side. Anyway, we're just talking about articulation too much.

[00:10:16]It's all this is great. Moves great.

[00:10:19]Pretty standard. He doesn't have that deep of a cut on the side of his boots like you get with Games Begin Goku where he gets like crazy level of articulation. You're just getting an okay I mean it still goes to a decent amount. It's just not as extreme as Goku. And then toe articulation. So boot designs, all these cuts, everything looks so much nicer. I have to say, I love that he is shorter than his previous versions cuz he is the short king, isn't he? Well, he's a short prince. The short prince of all sayans.

[00:10:50]I like that. His arm is all twisty McGee now. Also getting very scuffed up in there, which is which is great. Love that. Don't you Don't you love it when your figures get all scuffed up and it's been like 5 minutes? Cool. Anyway, look, this is a this is a highly articulated best version of Vegeta. It definitely has its issues and we knew that as soon as we saw as soon as we saw man, even the promo images showed off that his all of this was getting scuffed up. Like when when Tamashi got him and started doing their posts pretty recently saying it will be shipping soon, all of that scuff was there and I was like, "Oh god, please let that just be like a production sample." Heightwise, we already did talk about this. This is He's much shorter, which I appreciate.

[00:11:38]As far as compared to his Daima adult, basically the same. And to games begin, does this height seem accurate to you?

[00:11:48]Is this exactly what you were hoping for from a Vegeta Goku combo? Does it make him look a little too short and like a kid because he's not as muscular as he should? I think he should be stronger than this, shouldn't he? While they do look similar, these are new sculps for him because he is a more muscular version of himself, but it doesn't seem like he's that much bigger than he should be or something, however words work. So, we got to talk about head swaps. This is using a totally new neck system, which is great. So, did I miss something here? Did this just not This is the same thing that the new Goku is using. So, maybe I missed something here. The head does go up and down because of that joint, but it's Yeah, it didn't make a difference. Okay. So, when it's a joint like this, much like the Games Begin, we need some hero. There has to be a hero out there that can fix this. And there is. AFM Customs. It's usually like two bucks or whatever to get a new neck peg pack. Otherwise, it's basically what we've seen before in the neck and stuff. So, we need to find some neck pegs. Let's start off with our older 2.0 things. So, the brand new pack here from AFM Customs. This Tonsen, isn't that right? Or TK, I can't remember anymore. Pretty sure this is the Tonsen head, which uses the same 2.0 head sculpt. Now, we will take this ugly thing just for the sake of it because there are a lot of 2.0 Vegetas out there. So, you can take whichever one you want. Doesn't have to be this. Could be Super Saiyan Blue. Could be Superhero. And pops right on and looks great. I mean, as far as, you know, as good as it can without looking at the face. Oh, man. That's beautiful. I loved these head sculpts anyway from Tonsen Art. And it it just finally finally it's been 14 minutes and uh I'm already like finally we have this Vegeta with standard hair. God, just move on you idiot. Up next we have the peg that fits all of your older uh Beast Deities, Kong Studios, whatever. And then the Red Bolt Studios, which is the same thing. So if you want your Super Saiyan 3, which should look awesome on here, let's find out by putting it together. Duh. And start off with Super Saiyan. Yeah. I mean, looks good. If you like these face sculpts, I love the hair, though. The the especially in comparison, these faces are are certainly better to me than these beast deities ones. Beast deities ones. The hair though, I love that gold is so vibrant and gorgeous.

[00:14:26]And I think my favorite face in the pack was this one. It does look like he's got a little bit of a big head with this body because the those bodies are substantially larger than these. This does look good. His skin tones obviously don't match, but if you want that option, it's pretty solid actually, too.

[00:14:42]It doesn't feel like the weight is doing a lot to mess with his neck too much.

[00:14:47]And we have this recustom Ultra Ego Vegeta. That one was a lot tighter, but uh yeah, I mean, looks pretty solid if that's what you're going for looks wise.

[00:14:57]Obviously, story-wise doesn't make as much sense with this armor, but it does work. And that is probably the best looking combination out of all of them scale-wise because this head was intended for the da body, which is ultra tiny, and this is working. Yeah, this is definitely working. And these pegs are much stronger. So, most of the weak points are really at the base of the neck. So, if you're worried about it being a loose thing because of the ball pegs, it's not. It's very tight. Again, it's really the base of the neck that causes any loose issue concerns. This looks fantastic, though. My goodness.

[00:15:36]Yep. If you wanted a little bit beefier version instead of the small dinky da body, this is definitely it. Obviously, I don't know that you can even get this head sculpt anymore. So, good luck with that if that's something you want. It looks beautiful. Looks right out of the anime now. And I do not need to buy the premium Bandai version, although I probably will because, you know, for the review Anyway, there we go. I love it. If you like it, I'll see if I can find links to it.
