WILDFIRE EVACUATION ORDER Whitecourt Alberta - Air Tankers Are Hitting It Hard!!

[00:00:00]We have a critical wildfire alert from Woodlands County. That's Whitecourt, Alberta. There's an evacuation order there due to a wildfire. The alert's in effect for everybody east of Range Road 114, 114, and south of Highway 43, including the West Ridge subdivision. A wildfire is burning out of control in the area. All residents in the affected area must evacuate immediately. Gather pets, documentation, medication, register at the evacuation reception at Allan and Jean Miller Center, 58 Sunset Boulevard in Whitecourt. I have approximate locations now to share with you, although the aircraft keep going not live.

[00:00:46]Uh how do I explain this? So that there's tanker missions have been going on.

[00:00:50]Currently, we have this aircraft over top. This is the bird dog. You can see where he's been circling. Now we got the beacon from ASB 482. That's an Electra.

[00:01:02]You can see where the run they've been making is. It's really close to the Sky View Alliance Church.

[00:01:08]You can see Township Road 591 there, and where they're making their passes.

[00:01:13]They're all circling in this area, just south of the highway. We've had the skimmers on it, the air tractors. We got now the heavy Electra at 6,000 ft. I think he's made his run and is now departing the area. So he's just made his run. We have this guy coming in now, too. Fox Golf Delta, another uh bird dog type aircraft. So multiple aircraft are in the area, circling around. This heavy has just made a dump.

[00:01:43]And is he circling back around? How interesting.

[00:01:47]Kind of lost him there for a minute. Now he's coming back around. Maybe we're catching him right in the process here.

[00:01:55]So we're having a hard time getting clear beacon signal from this Lockheed L-188C Electra, the heavy.

[00:02:03]So, maybe he's not made his drop yet.

[00:02:05]Hard to tell. But, this is the exact area right here that the air tractors were working.

[00:02:12]So, we know that this is the approximate area. There's people who've been spreading on social media that Whitecourt itself is evacuating. That is not the case. The fire is being hit hard right now by air tankers of all different sorts.

[00:02:28]And I think that uh they'll do their best to hem that in while they can as we come into the evening hours. Really interesting. It's too bad we can't seem to get a consistent beacon from this guy here. He's kind of all over the place.

[00:02:40]But, that's the Electra. He's working by himself more or less with these bird dogs keeping six up over top for him.

[00:02:46]He's coming in here. And somewhere in here has been his uh run. That's about the same area that the uh bird dogs were hitting as well, right near the Skyview Alliance Church. So, exactly how close we don't know yet.

[00:03:00]Um hopefully in the next little bit here we can maybe even find on firms uh an updated uh heat map. So far, the heat map last I looked had nothing on it. So, that makes it really hard to kind of guess what's going on. In fact, yeah, I'm just looking now. Yeah, still nothing on uh satellite heat map. So, everybody in Alberta, be safe. We're thinking about you. And uh please heed the evacuation order, and everyone stay clear the area while they're uh doing their drops and getting a handle on the fire. Okay. Take care.
