Yeah, I quit smoking six weeks ago now.

They had put a feeding tube in me and then I gained like 10 lbs back.
a lot of movement in my left arm and my left leg, but slowly but surely coming back.
See, when these exercises help fasten your recovery, excuse me.

I think I'm getting better grip in that hand a little bit. That's good.
Try to do this for at least 10 minutes.

If you have a loved one or family member that survived a stroke, get you one of these for them.
keep their legs and the arms busy.
Yeah, this is for your feet, but you can do these for your arms, too, if you lost your arm from having a stroke. I lost my left side ability using my arm. So, this is going to help speedy up that recovery. Just giving it some arm movement, working those muscles, not feel so sedentary.
Working that heart muscle is so important.

It's qualifi historical plates. Any vehicle over 25 years old is qualified for you a qual a historical license tag plate on your car.
My car is like a back to the future car.

Six shifts are fun to drive, but if you got a hurt shoulder and a hurt neck, it can be a pain in the butt to drive, especially when the clutch is like getting too tight. Trying to shift it gears can hurt you.

Ah, guys, I've been playing it. I downloaded a video game on my phone through the Play Store. It's a fun video game.
I'm trying to think what it's called.
It's It's called Linger Man or something. It's kind of a mystery game.
I enjoy it. I get stuck on the puzzle part, but no worries. You Google the video game name and stretch strategy book re and it takes you through the whole game what to do through the whole game. So I kind of cheat mode. It tells me what to do, how to get through those puzzles. But it's fun to play.
I can play with one hand. I don't need both hands to play it either. I just use one hand.

Thank you all joining me and uh doing these uh it's it might be easy workout for you guys, but if you're a stroke survivor like me, these are difficult. Honestly, that's not working. You just got to do your best as many as you can and never give up and do these every day. Yep.
Every day for a speedy recovery.
How old am I? What caused my stroke? M well age factor is one.
The stroke happened on April 1st, day before my birthday. My birthday was April 2nd.
I just turned 46.
So I am a woman going through perry menopause which is a high risk factor.
Our hormones change and uh stress levels goes up. It's just the way our hormones flunctuate and you got to be careful for for other women my age. Just do your best, keep your stress levels down and uh which was oh because twice a week I would teach a stretch and relax class and I do the stretches with my students and it help relax me too for the hour and meditate. Meditation's good.
Uh but that I did that for and I was a yoga instructor for a good 12 years.
Well, and then my recent classes were just just stretch and relax. Easy, gentle stretching before the stroke. And um I gained weight. Menopause, you gain weight. It just happens. I gained 20 pounds out of nowhere. It happens to women. It's very normal. But the doctors like, "Oh, you're obese from that 20 pound weight gain out of nowhere."
It's just it was a struggle to lose that 20 lbs. Those that were with me in my channel, I was doing so well on that treadmill all the time. But I went from a 208 down to 188bs and I was still overweight.
What are you talking about, Kelly? I don't know what you're talking about, my dear. Oh, risk factors. We're talking about risk factors. I say smoke cigarettes.
So, if those of you quit, better quit smoking cigarettes now as you get older.
No, it's a big no no.
And no smoking weed. Weed can cause strokes, too. Especially if you have high blood pressure or low blood pressure. You got to be so careful what what you put in your body. Inhaling.
And I had high cholesterol. I was not taking the medicine. I was going against doctor's orders, thinking I was fine.
Exercise and stretching was going to help me. I was told wrong. So, make sure to follow your doctor's orders. We have high cholesterol. You better take that medicine.
Yeah. Uh, the nicotine nicotine patch is working really hard. I quit smoking the day of the stroke. It's been six weeks now since I have the stroke. It happened at the gas station down the street where I used to work at. I was on my way to go visit my son and I got confused trying to pay at the counter and I lost my balance and I fell down and they called 911 for me.
I think it's Keies. I'm trying to think is there anything else? Um, eat a better diet. Fast food. Cut it out. Fast food is poison. It dares your arteries also, especially if you're already dealing dealing with high blood pressure. And you got to be so careful what you're eating. Now, stay away from sugar. No more pop. Water. Water. Water.
Iced tea is fine. Just no sugar. And no more alcohol, guys. I wasn't much of a drinker anyway on alcohol, just on rare occasions.
Don't drink alcohol. It's bad.

It's going to be a dream come true.
It feels so much better to lay on your back on the floor on the yoga mat than laying on the bed. The bed's too soft to really get the full effect in these stretches.

Oh, be careful, John. Um, just know your limit. All right. And uh it's um just whenever you have a start date planned and um yeah, drinking is bad. Drinking's bad.
Alcohol's got sugar in it, too. And can cause too.
Smoking is definitely hard to quit.
Trust me, these nicotine patches work.
You can get them prescribed through your doctor. Depends if you have what kind of insurance you have. And um it's cheaper to order them on Craigslist or I mean Amazon and get them at the store. At the store they're like 50 bucks, but if you get them online it's only like 15 20 bucks.
Losing weight can be a struggle too.
It's and it's all about what we eat and make sure to get plenty of sleep. Eight hours sleep.
It improves your stress levels and your blood pressure a lot that way too. I wasn't getting enough sleep before the stroke, too. I would I would get maybe four or five hours sleep.
And I've now been like going to bed way earlier at night getting make sure I get eight hours sleep.
But I'm on all kinds of medicine, so I still rest throughout the day. Stroke survivors, rest, rest, rest. It helps your healing, too. You just got to rest it out.
Typically, they say it takes 3 to 6 months to get better.
It's only been six weeks so far.

Yes, sleep is the best recovery for your brain. Definitely. For sure.
And they say the nurses told me our brains is like it's like a a power circuit. So, from a stroke, uh, it affected my left side of my brain and there's dead brain cells and eventually there's going to be new brain cells that take over. I don't know if it's from the left that moves to the right. I got to research that.
And then it just slowly will bring the muscle fibers back in into memory. But it's our job to do these exercises to retrain to retrain the movements and the muscle memory will come back eventually. It takes time. They say first is your leg and then your arm and then your foot and then your hand and then last your fingers.
Hi Shy. Yeah, I'm sorry to hear about your hubby. Um, it was a slight stroke.
Yeah, those were scary, too. I had slight stroke before a couple times before this stroke happened. It was like a year ago. I remember I got upset about something. I was stressed out and all of a sudden my body just shut down. Both my arms were numb. I had to take a seat and it only lasted a few seconds and I was like, "Whoa, what just happened?" And I I was not aware that was a mini stroke I had. I should have called my doctor right away. Let her know that happened.
Got to keep the stress levels down for sure.
You saw more pictures on my page. Oh, which ones? Which ones? Um yeah. Um I'm turning my I I I I side fun hobby idea. I like to I do modeling and I found out you can turn pictures into videos. So that's what those short videos are. I turn my pictures into videos and then I share put them in shorts.
There's so many pictures to share with you guys. Like yeah, I'm sharing pictures from 10 years ago actually. Like well those pictures I just shared recently I think with the rose that was like from 2020 year 2020.
I should have started a YouTube channel in like 20 years ago. I do have a Facebook I started in 2012.
I think that's as soon as I didn't have my first cell phone until I was like 32 and then I had my first cell phone.
Is my nerve okay? I do take nerve pills called gabapentin.
I take one in the morning and one at night. I take a lipur at night and the zolaf at night. And every morning I take a baby aspirin.
If I feel any pain, I take a Tylenol.
Oh, thank you. Oh, gee. Yeah, we go back. Oh, gee. My treadmill my treadmill videos, you know, from having the stroke. I lost 20 pounds, you guys. I had a feeding tube in me for a week and then um when they transported me to the rehabilitation center I was able to eat soft food.
I'm grateful my esophagus is working.
The stroke could have made me like really bad you guys. Luckily I'm still here. I can see. I'm not blind. I have my memory. I feel very grateful for that.

How long did it take you to heal?
I had a blood clot. I had a blood clot in my right brain. Doctors are still trying to figure out how it how it formed there.
And they want me to come back in July do blood more blood work. They think numbers were high for something called anti-cardio lipid which can be linked to lupus.
So they're checking me for that.

Yeah, the first week quitting I was I was hell on wheels.
The nurses dealt pretty good with me though. They did a good job dealing with my anger like withdrawals. Like I was a hot mess.

to um thin the blood th blood thinner.
You still haven't got right function of your right hand. I'm sorry, Leroy. How long ago was that?
Do I need help? I'm I'm not completely I got my dear friend Roso I stay with. Yes, it's I I'm I'm going to I'm went down tound the the last weight check was 178 lbs.
Before the stroke, I was at 188 lbs.
And it seems like every time I go back to the doctor, I'm losing more weight.
My goal weight is 160.
I'm under the BMI now. My BMI was at I think it was at 27 or 28. And if you're over 30, you're considered overweight, which is a risk factor for stroke.
So, everybody's got to keep their weight in check.
Stay away from fast food. It's not helping maintain good weight. So, salad, salad, salad, veggies and fruits.
Do I have kids? Yes.

Uh yeah, my age being a female going through perry menopause is real and it's a risk factor for stroke too for women if you don't manage your stress and all the risk factors with you're going through pmenopause um hormones change and you just get triggers of the if any stress rises up and I already deal with high blood pressure and that was a risk factor for me smoking and not taking my high cholesterol medicine and it caught up with me and gave me a stroke happened at the gas station. There's a minute down the street from me. I was getting ready to go visit my 18year-old son and luckily people working at the counter there called 911 for me just in time to help clear the blood clot out of my right brain. Could have been a lot worse. So time is everything and help from the ambulance mean it can save your life and and help you your condition getting any worsening.
Did I lose my tooth? No.

Just do your best what you can every day and do your best to get up and do something every day. You don't want to be sedentary because sedentary can lead to a heart attack. So make sure not to not to sit sit everybody down all day and do nothing. Try to do at least one thing a day. Whether that's doing dishes, doing some kind of chore, just like get your bodies up and do at least one thing at least one thing a day and maybe work yourself two different things a day.
Recurring exercise. Yep. We're about to do them right now. Laying on our backs.

Uh, I went to physical therapy for it last year. It was really painful in my neck. They told me I'm dealing with arthritis now in that area. Winter time, you really feel it. And doing these stretches every day really help prevent that soreness in the neck area.
There'll be times my neck feels really stiff. I can't move it very good side to side.
I just feel I feel paralyzed.
just just going to happen to me eventually in life because the narrowing of my spine is getting thinner and thinner as I age. It's deteriorating.

It It's the best thing ever. I think I used it too much. Also, my neck. I've read on Google that massage chairs, if you have herniated disc on your neck, if you use it too much, it can cause a it can cause a stroke actually for somebody like me, too. I did use that massage chair quite often. And I would press hard on my neck on it.

Oh, yeah. Not with a normal well the neurosurgeon I talked to last year said there's no surgery that can help me with my neck and there's going to come a time where I'm going to be paralyzed.
So I'm just grateful to have each day to be able to move while I can.
A yeah, I know. Just like I said before, take each day as a blessing. Don't take each day for granted. Just say your prayers and tell Jesus that you're grateful for to your health, everything that all your blessings. Let Jesus know you're thankful.

Try those exercises I showed you and those back those back stretches. Another good stretch for your back if you're able to.
You want your uh legs straight and you reach forward for your toes. If you can't touch your toes, don't worry about it. Reach for your knees or your ankles.
And just hold that stretch at least 30 seconds every day.
You'll feel a stretch in your back and your legs.
That's a good one. Another good one is if you're sitting up tall, you can do a twist. Sit up. Twist and just have your this hand over this leg and just try to face your chest towards side of the room. I like to overlook each shoulder. Feel a side neck stretch.
And that will help release tension in your back and your spine too and your low back.
You got to do both sides.
Balance.

It was so icy on the roads. I almost wrecked.

You guys are going to be my witnesses to see me recover, get back to healthy so I can go back to the gym and teach my fitness classes.
Also, I'm supposed to teach Aqua Fitness this summer at the pool outside and the pool opens up in like three weeks and uh the manager knows I had a stroke. He said, "Try to get in as soon as possible, teach my classes." I told him, "Just wait on me. I'll get there as fast as I can." And uh I'm hoping I recover in July so I can teach my aqua fitness classes for my students and um make the summer the best of it.
So hopefully I get back to normal in July. We'll see. We got another month or so, six more weeks of recovery.
Hopefully I can get get myself able be allowed to drive and go work at the pool.
I'll be safe at the pool. There's good the best lifeguards there to help keep me safe.

I hope I hope I won't never get another stroke. I've been having nightmares.
I've been getting strokes. My nightmares like I just been so scared happening again. Like I I hope it never happens. It's the worst thing. I don't wish it on anybody to get a stroke.
Well, all I can do is spread awareness and um know your awareness about having a stroke. If you feel dizzy, if you feel confusion, if you feel off balance, you can feel your speech slur. Um if you feel numbness in one side of your body, go ahead, sit down immediately and call 911 as fast as you can.
Yes. Stay strong.
Yeah. Motorcycle. Yeah. Strokes are no joke for sure.
So there's many strokes too. So if you do experience a mini stroke where what I just said, dizziness, confusion, lost feeling of your body and it lasted like a few seconds. do a major damage but that's a mini struggle. So you want to get a hold of your doctor right away that happened to you and get on the right medicine be stay close to your doctor so you can be prepared for a more fatal stroke that's probably a warning sign that's coming later in life for you.

What causes stroke? All kinds of factors. Age, smoking, partying, drinking, certain foods. Stay away from fast food.
Stay away from alcohol. Stay away from sugar. Stay away from pretty much everything.
Keep your stress levels out and get plenty of sleep. Sleep eight hours.
Stay away from COVID vaccine. Yeah, I did had the vaccine in 2020. Actually, did this happen March 31st? No, this happened April 1st, 2026.

Athletes um it's really scary. They're so young. They're um they're passing away. There's been quite a few incidents here in the US.
It's all pandmic.
The government is trying to depopulize.
If it's not through the clever shot, it's through our food and water now. The water supply through their plastic pipes.
It's terrible. I know. But just have faith in the Lord and and everything's going to be okay, guys.
Just have faith in the Lord. It's going to be all right.
And I I want to say three stars out of five being in a rehabilitation center hospital.
Some of them nurses are very nice to you, but you got to be careful with some of the other nurses. I don't like being there's been times where I'm like, some of these nurses don't have compassion. They should not be working in hospitals.
So, I feel bad for those that are totally alone that don't have anybody checking on them. Any friends or others?

And all those strikes making people get a shot to keep their job too. It's not right.

Uh, I was 20 years old. She was 42, two weeks from her 43rd birthday.
And I met my dad when I was 24. And I met him again when I was 32. And then he passed away when I was 36. He passed away from heart heart attack in the jail. He was a heavy alcoholic. He was got pulled over DUI and he also has cerosis in the liver.
He p he was 58 when he passed away.
