AI art generation raises significant ethical concerns because it trains on artwork created by human artists without their consent, effectively stealing creative work to produce derivative content that lacks the human creativity, effort, and soul of original artistic creation.

Ranting about AI “art”
Added:Hello. So, today's video is going to be a little bit different. So, we're going to be drawing today, but we're also going to be talking about the ethics of AI. Me personally, I never use AI in my art. I do not think that AI should ever be used in art, but there are some ethical applications of AI that I do use, such as generative captions. But today, we're going to be focusing more on the art aspect.
So, AI art is soulless and it is slopp.
I do not think that AI art is real art whatsoever.
I also do not think that using AI art is ethical. I do not care what your excuse is. I've made a video about this before talking about how I do not care if you do not know how to draw. You still cannot use AI. I had to learn to draw and other people can just use commissions if they don't know how to draw. That's the purpose of commissions for people to get artwork even if they do not know how to draw. But the thing is people don't want to pay for that. So they use AI.
AI is a soulless replica of what human artists do.
I am young and I recently just learned about how AI works. AI works off of stealing art from creators.
If you didn't know that or are simply just unaware of how bad it is, then I can, you know, give you some sort of leniency. But AI solely trains off of art that human artists made and they did not give consent for it to be training this bot. It should not be used and it definitely should have been asked for at least at the at the very least. it should have been asked for. This is a very strong opinion of mine and so I am not going to argue with anybody in the comments. I can't even reply to comments. So if you are commenting please just keep it short and concise and just state your opinion and I don't know just keep it going. Also in my artwork if you can see some of the proportions are off do not worry I will fix those at the end with the wet liquify tool.
But using AI is cutting corners that shouldn't be cut in the first place. If you don't have enough money to get commissions and you don't have the time to learn how to draw, then you simply should not get art. Because the only way that you should get art is if you either buy a commission from a human artist or you learn to draw yourself and you put in the work and you draw it. I don't know how many times to say this, but artists are not born, they are made. You have to train. You have to learn it. I was a horrible artist. Okay? I was garbage. And I still am garbage. But I'm doing a lot better than I was. You know why? Because I learned. People can learn art just like they can learn anything else. The only difference is that art is creating something that never existed.
And it requires creativity. As long as you're creative, you can make art. It's that simple. You don't need this AI to make the art for you. You just need either an artist to help you visualize and describe this art piece or you need to pick up a pencil and you need to figure out how to draw yourself.
Sometimes it's just that way. I don't know how to say it without sounding mean, but that is just how it works.
Okay? There are no excuses here. And even if you don't want to learn to draw, there are other ways to make creative applications. Just use a stock image, okay? And alter it. Just figure out other ways to visualize something. It's not that difficult to try and figure out ways to do this without using AI, which is thiever thievery from artists. And that's what we're going to get into next. The fact is, if you are using AI art and you are relying on it and you're like, "Oh, hey, I use AI to make this cool storyboard thing and I post it online and I do all this stuff and I claim it as my own." You are quite literally stealing from all these artists that help train that AI non-consensually.
They did not want to train that AI, but they did because of the messed up system from which AI is trained. Using AI is just as bad as taking someone's art directly online and using it as your own. While technically no one will know, they didn't give permission for you to do that and they don't know what you're doing with it. I've seen so many ridiculous posts of people running people's art through AI and quote unquote fixing it, but that's simply just disrespectful to the original artist. You are running their art through AI, training it with their art non-consensually, and then you're also claiming that the AI slop that it created is better than the original art. It's just ridiculous that you think a robot that just oh uh guesses where pixels go based off a platform and smudges irises together and makes monsters with six fingers is somehow better than a human artist who put blood, sweat, and tears and hours into making their art is like I don't understand how you can think AI is better than a human artist.
I genuinely don't. So, as you can see, I feel very, very strongly on this topic, but there's not very much I can do about it, unfortunately, besides just talk about how much it angers me.
So, this is what I'm doing to try and help raise awareness about how bad AI really is and how people should stop using it. I'm not going to lie, I understand the temptation of AI just because it's so easy and it's so quick, but you have to think about the results that you want because you're going to get slop if you use AI. You're going to get slop. You are obviously going to get slop. Okay, I'm going to repeat that until the ends of the earth. You are not going to get art if you use AI.
So, it's best to just draw it yourself or just commission an artist. It's it's worth the money. I promise. And there are artists out there that are cheap enough for you. I promise. Okay? There are people that charge way less than they should simply because they want you to buy their art.
Anyway, the most most of this is just me ranting about how much I hate AI and AI art in general. Even though there are ethical uses for AI, nobody will ever actually use them in a way that is ethical because, you know, who would want to do that? But if you are using AI art, even on occasion, um, please take this as your sign to stop using AI. I promise that it'll be a game changer to just start commissioning human artists.
I promise. Even if it might drain your bank account just slightly, I promise it'll be a game changer for your art.
So, this whole video was my opinion on AI. Let me know what you think. Thank you so much for watching and scan the QR code if you want to check out my art account.
