10 CRAZY 3D PRINTED PUZZLESAdded:
Behold, 10 brand new twisty puzzles, one of which hasn't even been released to the public yet. These were all designed by one amazing puzzle creator. And believe it or not, I actually helped in inventing one of these myself. And we're going to unbox these one at a time.
Starting with this guy. Here it is. I'm laughing because it just looks like an ordinary 5x5, except look at this guy.
It's missing a bunch of layers. And yep, it turns super smoothly. Oh, how cool is that? I really, really like this. But there's one thing this guy can do that 555 x5 cannot. You ready? It's this or make a turn like that. I can continue to turn this. Dude, this puzzle shape shifts. Oh no. How do I undo this? Wait, wait, wait. Oh no. What have I done? Is it this? No. Is it this? Yeah. Yeah, it's that, right? And then it's this and and then this. Oh yes. My heart rate was going so fast just then. Dude, if I scramble this, I have zero confidence in myself to solve it. But I mean, 10 puzzles. I need to solve at least like half of them, right? Puzzle number two is the two circle puzzle. I think this is one that I can solve, but I don't want to be too confident. That doesn't look too intimidating, right? Looks simpler now. What? Woah. Oh my gosh.
It's on both sides. That's actually super cool. So yeah, it just turns around like that. These are apparently 3D prints, but they don't feel like my 3D prints. Like, these are done really, really well and professional. I mean, this one's not too hard, right? If we just mess it up like this. All right, look. Far be it from me to be super overconfident, but I reckon I can do this. Yeah, I'm so confident I'm even going to time myself. I mean, if you look at this, you can kind of guess what your first move's going to be, right?
Let's see if I can do in like 3 minutes.
I reckon 3 minutes is reasonable. All right, here we go. 3 2 1 go. So, I'm actually going to start by making yellow. Actually, I don't know why I would start by making yellow. Yeah, why would I start by making yellow? Oh, I already have a lot of red there. Isn't that That's a good sign, right? Bro, I got this, bro. Bro, bro, bro, bro, bro, bro. Oh, wait. Maybe not. Oh, yeah. No, no, no, no, no. Let's do this. And let's put it back, dude. Let's go. And then, how do you get this last bit done? Is it like Oh, wait. Wait. Won't it just be like this and this and this? And then if you move it, then you move this.
>> Let's go. Yo. Yes. By the way, all of Kenya's crazy puzzles can be found at the cubicle.com, but make sure that you use discount code Tingman if you plan to buy any of them. That was actually way more fun than I expected. Puzzle number three, however, is significantly harder because it is a square one. Well, hard as in you probably can't figure it out all on your own. I mean, maybe you could, but I mean, if you do need a hand, I have made an entire square one tutorial. A tutorial I'm very proud of, I must say. But when you're a puzzle designer, wait, can I show you what a normal square one looks like? This is a regular square one. It's about the same size as like a regular Rubik's cube. I think slightly same height, but I think slightly thinner. Is that right?
Something like that. But Mr. Canyon, he went ahead and he made a big square. It is so strange. Yo, it feels so weird when you get used to a puzzle size, right? And then you just suddenly get like a really massive version of it.
It's like, what is this? Suddenly nothing feels right anymore. Wow. Why does it turn so well though? Like what is going on there? Now I can solve a regular square one in I don't know, 30 to 40 seconds. So let's see if I can do this in under a minute. You know what?
No. No. Let's make it harder. Let's do under 45 seconds. Oh no. Wait. Where do I even begin? All right. I might have overestimated this. Okay. No, no. Let's just give it a go. 3 2 1 go.
Uh, that one. Oh, no. I overturned it.
That one. That one. Okay, I think I was too confident. Wait, wait. What am I doing, bro? Yeah. Okay, got that. Now, we're going to do this. 30 seconds.
We're good. We're still good. Just really, really don't want parody. And I think it's looking like I'm going to get parody. That's actually terrible. And it's 45 seconds right now with parody.
Can I remember the parody al? Oh, wait, wait, wait. Is it this one? No, no, no.
The pill was too big. I lost all my muscle memory. All right, scramble.
Let's try it again. Sub 45 seconds is the goal. Here we go. 3 2 1 go. And this. And this. Yeah, that's good. And then we won this. And we have scallop kite. And then this should get us to cube shape. Cube shape. And we're going to go with um let's go with let's go with this one. Ah, not this case. It's this. Bro, it's so weird when you don't have like normal muscle memory. Uh, we're going to go with this. Yeah. And then what is case is this? I have a really bad feeling that this is um parody again. Bro, I think it's parody again. Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? It is parody again. All right, here we go.
No way. No way. No way. No way. Yes. It was a very sad time, but I actually remembered it. All right, take three.
Surely vindication.
This is it. This is it. We are going to get our sub 45 seconds here. Dude, I got parody again. That's actually crazy, bro. Let's do a really fast parody. Come on. Come on. Come on.
I did it as fast as I could. 47 seconds flat. Okay, you buy this giant square one for yourself. Tell me that it doesn't give me parody every single time. Ridiculous. But three puzzles down and we've been able to solve two of them so far, which I'm really happy about because I don't feel the same about this one. I mean, it's literally called Ghost.
Okay, not going to lie, I didn't realize it would be like fully black.
You can barely even see it. Let Let me move this away. So, this is a square one because it's Well, it's square one. It's cut the same like a normal square one.
Three layers, right? But the middle equator slice only has like one way that you can turn it, which is that one there. Except a ghost cube is one where you can't actually scramble it like while it's in cubic shape. You need to misalign the edges and then once you've misaligned them, bruh, that actually stinks. The square one needs to be solved into this state. You can't even tell whether that's right. And then you fix it into the normal cubic and then it's done. Do I even want to do it? You know what? Sometimes you've just got to do hard things.
This actually is not even going to happen. Okay, we're going to give myself 5 minutes and see like how far I can go.
I would just skip it. But I need to solve at least five of these puzzles because if I don't actually, what's my punishment? I don't even know what happens to me if I don't. Maybe if I don't, I need to like contact the puzzle creator and like dedicate to him my next child or something. No. Okay, I'm definitely not going to do that, bro. I actually don't even know what I'm doing.
I'm just making random turns. Okay, that looks like it belongs there, right?
So, that's the top layer and that looks like it's the bottom layer. Dude, step one is like bring it back to cubic shape. But like I don't even know what I'm doing. Oh, wait, wait, wait. I do I do know what I'm doing. I need to thingo. Okay, so the way you do that is you bring all the middle things together like this. Wait, I suddenly remember how to solve square one. Okay, so I've got four together there now. And then I've got these two. Yeah, great. So, I can do this and I can probably make a kite scallop like this. Yeah, I make kite scallop. Wait, wait. What do you even do once you have kite scallop? I can't even remember what you do once you have kite scallop.
Oh, yeah. You do this. So, I need like the two big fat ones and the two middle ones. So, you do this and then you do like the two skinny the two edges there and then you do the two thingos there and then you do this and you should get kite kite. Kite kite. I got kite kite.
What do you do with kite kite? Wait, wait. Why do you do a prank height? Oh, yeah. Yeah, you just line them up. Why does everything feel so different once it's like ghost cube? Yo, I think I did it. I think I actually got it into cube shape. This is cube shape. This is a cube. Just like that.
>> 7 hours later.
>> Yeah. Nope.
I know when to admit defeat. Dude, I actually think I can do it. I'm just choosing not to in this video, right?
Dude, this is such a good puzzle. It's really stretching how I think about square ones. And thankfully I never have to think about square ones again because puzzle number five. This is square one.
Canyon bro, what is it with you and square ones? Hang on. That's not a square one. Wait, wait. That's right.
Cuz it's a 2 by two. So this one is a a combo of like 2 by two on the bottom, right? But the top is square one. How does it even work? How does that even scramble like that? That's not too bad.
That should be okay, right?
Why is it on the product page for this?
It says that the parody algorithm for this is 70 moves long. That makes no sense. I guess I just have to like try and hope that I am lucky and don't get parody. I mean, it looks it looks simple enough.
What did I just do? It's such a weird looking puzzle. I'm going to try and scramble this as much as I think I can.
I honestly can't even scramble it much more than this. All right, let's see how I do with a 2 by two square one. Dude, if you like puzzles, you really have to give these a go. They are like really messing with my brain. Okay, I think I just I need to get start with cube shape, right? Are those easy? Oh, wait.
Hang on. No, that's not the right cube shape. This is cube shape. All right.
And then now I want to do this one. Got it. All right. Bottom's already solved.
And the top is top is up.
No, dude. My upup doesn't work. No, I can't do my upuper. Alk. What? Then then then how do you do a up?
>> 6 hours later.
>> Why was that so challenging? It's somehow so innocent looking and yet so deceptively hard. I bet you as soon as I turn the camera off, I'm going to solve it in like 5 seconds. This ain't looking good. I've got five puzzles so far and I've only solved two and I need to be able to solve five out of 10. Otherwise, I'll have to call Canyon and ask him to give me a punishment. Thankfully, I feel a lot better about puzzle six and also puzzle seven. Six and seven should Oh, no. But this is a puzzle I'm very, very excited about. Okay, I need to give you a backstory. I was talking to my friend Steven Winingham about >> how funny it would be if a pyramids was actually a cone shaped.
>> We realized that a cone-shaped pyram actually does not exist. Steven then called his friend Canyon and within several hours, Canyon created a prototype of what eventually ended up becoming dude. He made it a cone shaped pyram. An actual working cone-shaped pyramids. It turns and everything just like the pyramid would. See three layers? Crazy.
And then pyrams can turn that way. Guess what? So can this guy. difference is of course once you end up turning the cone it shape shifts because well it just goes out of cone shape. Yeah. And so puzzle six is one that I got to invent myself. Yeah. Together with Steven and Canyon this is the first puzzle that I've ever I guess conceived come up with the idea for with the absolute genius of Canyon of course. But then of course inevitably we thought hang on since this looks so much like a cone another puzzle exists that's called the Yeole. I may or may not have something to do with its naming.
How funny would it be if the ye ball could go in this like an ice cream cone?
Retold the idea to Canyon and build puzzle number seven, the ice cream coneings with a concave bottom so that the yeet ball fits perfectly inside.
It's actually ridiculous.
That's the most satisfying thing ever.
Now, I've seen several videos of people trying to speed solve these two puzzles.
I think the fastest time I've seen it done is like I don't know 30 seconds or something, which is pretty phenomenal.
Is that something I can do? Probably not. But I mean, as as the inventor, I do feel a responsibility to at least try and break that world record. If you own the ice cream cone, by the way, I challenge you to try and beat the 30 secondond barrier yourself. But okay, I think that's scrambled. Here we go. 3 2 1 go.
Oh, wait, wait. Let's do that one first.
Put it back. Oh, that's good. That's good. That's good. So now if I um Oh, how do I do this? Let's do that and move it away. And I move it back like that.
Oh, no. No, no, no, no. This.
Yes, you done. Um, come on. Come on.
Come on.
Ka mates. Ka mates. And what case is this? Is this like a two flip and ice cream cone? I forgot. You have to end it with like holding the ice cream cone. Oh, 1 minute. No. How do you get 30 seconds? All right, let the record show that I am persistent. I may not be good at solving puzzles, but I am persistent. Okay, I can see how I can do orange and blue at the same time. 3 2 1 go. So, orange and blue and this both.
And then, why not? Let's do yellow. So, let's do yellow like this. Sweet. I'm done. I'm done. What were the odds of that? That was a very lucky skip. Um, and then let's do this.
And then yo, is this already a two flipped? Uh, left, left, out, out, and out, out, in, in. No, it's a up. No, bro.
Ice cream kind of makes Oh, I saw the wrong case. I got the ice cream in 46 seconds. I am very happy with that improvement. Oh, no. It's a plus two as well. No, I'm clearly going to have to grind the ice cream cone. But if you get this puzzle, which I do recommend you I mean along with the eat ball, it's so much fun. Although the regular cone, I mean, it's it's really fun as well. Get it and see if you can beat my 30 secondond challenge or 1 minute challenge. Dude, these puzzles are really really fun. But that is a third puzzle that I can solve. Oh, actually, can I count it if I do this one, too? Is it a fourth puzzle that I can solve? Let's see if I can do this in under like um 30 seconds. 3 2 1 go.
Yeah. Nice. And then we're going to go this.
Wait, why did I do that? That like took a piece out. Mistakes were made, bro.
Ooh, that's a two flip. In, in, out, out, and then out. Out. In, in.
Let's go. Dude, did I miss the tip again? Codex gets me every time. That means I've solved four puzzles so far. I only need to do one more, which is good because this next one I completely forgot. Is it actually a puzzle I can solve. Oops. This is the aptly named Canyon Gear Cube stand because I mean it's a bit of a puzzle, right? Like how do you even use it? If you start twisting things, look what happens. Ooh, it's such a simple, elegant, beautiful mechanism. Oh, wow. You can do this. But look, it's designed for three cubes.
Three 3x3's which Oh, what are the odds?
Look what I have right here. Uh, the Dingman, Ola, and Ting Boy cubes. Three beautiful 3x3's, which I highly recommend, by the way. Put them in like this. Check this out. Looks what Look what happens when you rotate, right? Dude, this is mesmerizing. Also, I think if you hold on to like one cube, you can Yeah, look. You can spin the others around it. Dude, that is so satisfying.
That's actually crazy. Oh, of course you can do this, too. Yo, I could actually do this for hours. This is a really fun way to display your 3x3's. But that means we only have two puzzles left and I need to be able to solve one of them.
And I have a feeling it's not this guy.
I was so hoping that there was all my square ones done and out of the way, but no, there is one more. Bro, 7 cm square one. Go square one. 2x2 square one.
Hexagon one canyon. Do you have a problem, dude? Is that Is there something you need to tell us? Let's see what you've got for us with the hexagon one.
Wow. So, the hexagon one is a square one but with two extra sides. Yo, it's rainbow. Okay. Okay. I actually now love this like 10 times more. I thought this was going to be cool, but this is even cooler than I thought. So, regular square one. Oh, okay. Let me Let me just solve this real quick. There we go. See, I do know how to solve a square one. So, the regular square one has What color is missing on a regular square one? I mean, obviously purple. Oh, yeah. Black.
That's right. So, normally a square one won't have like white, yellow, and black. Like, it'll be one or the other.
Yellow can be interchangeable with black quite often. And in this case, we've got every single color. And yeah, I I see why Canyon put yellow there. Cuz he could have put yellow there, maybe black here. But putting yellow here means you get the full rainbow, which is so pretty. I really don't want to scramble this. I feel like as soon as I scramble this, it's just absolutely over because I just can't see any way that I can like Well, can I checkerboard it? Maybe I can do like a weird checkerboardy thing.
Wait, how how do you even checkerboard it? It would be like this maybe. Okay, this is not a checkerboard, but I made a very very cool pattern. That is so cool, right? And so for the hexagon one, these corners are not as thick as the edges as the corners are in the square one relative to the edges so that you can squeeze them all in. I really just can't even figure out like what that would do to the puzzle when you're trying to solve it. Look, I really, really want to scramble this so I can give it a go because if I don't, it means that the final one is the one that I have to solve. Otherwise, I will get punished.
And I'm not even 100% sure what that final one is because it's not even publicly available. I don't want to mess this up. It's actually just too pretty.
I really want to leave it as it is. And I'm going to put all my eggs in the basket of the last puzzle. Hexagon one.
I'm going to leave you as you are. And let's see what puzzle number 10 is. Oh, I'm so scared. Oh, no way. I heard that he was making something like this, but I wasn't sure if Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Yes. Dude, no way.
It's a giant 5x55.
Look how small a normal Rubik's cube is compared to this. This guy is such a baby. Oh my gosh. And hey, for a big boy, that actually turns pretty well.
Can I solve the giant 5x5? I mean, a regular 5x5 takes me like, I don't know, 145 to do it. So, I'm going to give myself the challenge of 5 minutes to solve the mega 5x5. If not, I'm going to have to do whatever punishment Canyon gives me. Oh my gosh. And like I said, you currently can't find this at the cubicle. If you really want it and you think you'll buy it, like, let the cubicle know. I don't know. They might listen to you. Yo, this is actually crazy. Here we go. 5 minutes for glory.
3 2 1 go. Let's get blue. That's blue done. Let's get this next blue done as quick as I possibly can. I'm just being a bit careful with how I turn it. It's like pretty safe, but I still just don't want to take any chances, you know?
We're going for glory here. Okay, center is done. Let's get our edges done now.
Where is the white orange edge? Oh, it's right there. I knew that.
It's so weird looking for the edges on this cube cuz it's like so big. Oh boy.
I think my edge flip algorithm is going to be so slow. I just don't have like the exact same the same muscle memory, you know, that you that you normally would have. I feel like I'm going to have to be so much more efficient with the way that I do the solution. Okay, 2 minutes and then what have we got? I like to do all of my white edges first because I find they just stand out the most. I find them really easy to spot.
Okay, this edge flipping AL is literally taking me like 15 seconds every time I do it. No way. Did I not even need to do the edge flipping ALG? Bro, I didn't even need to do that ALG. Okay, that's actually sad. You know what? I'm just going to forget that. Please don't get par. It will be over if I get like parody with my last two. Like as in a flipped edge with my last two. All right, what have we got? Come on, give me some nice cases. These are terrible cases, bro. Oh, I told you ages take the longest. Oh, that's good. That's good.
That's good. I don't have parrot. It just legitimately takes so long. 3x3 stage done. I mean, the reduction phase done, bro. I I actually can't even speak English right now. Come on. Come on.
Come on. This is nuts. And we have got Ja. Come on. I really need to focus.
No, I just did. I I couldn't think. I I Canyon, you win, bro. Not only because you've made some of the most spectacular puzzles the world has ever seen, but because now I have to do a punishment that you tell me to do. Please be nice.
If you guys feel any pity for me at all, go to the cubicle, buy a cone, buy any of these puzzles, use my discount code.
Thanks for watching.
