A cold front moving through an area brings cooler temperatures and reduced humidity, but as high pressure shifts offshore and a ridge of high pressure establishes, warmer and more humid air returns, causing temperatures to rise significantly—potentially reaching near 90°F by Sunday.

From Cool Mornings to Near 90° by Sunday - CBS 42 News at 4 pmAñadido:
And let's get a check of our forecast now with Storm Team Chief Meteorologist Steve Nesbitt. What can we expect on this Monday, Dave? Well, Carla, we're going to see some cloudy sky tonight, but we're going to deal with some cooler temperatures out there tomorrow morning as well as into Friday morning thanks to the two fronts that have moved through.
The first one already coming across our area now and another one during the middle of the week. Lows in the 40s and 50s for some of you. That cold front midweek will bring us maybe a sprinkle, but that's about it. Otherwise, partly cloudy sky and that slightly cooler temperatures, but then as we get to the weekend, weather pitch out pattern changes. Big warm up in store for us, if not a heatwave. We're talking highs in the upper 80s this weekend, maybe some good pool weather. Uh, believe it or not. So, right now though, some high clouds continue to kind of block the sun or filter it out quite a bit. You can see from our Hoover higher Regency camera. 76° right now there in Hoover with a north wind of 13. Nice breeze.
Dew point still a little humid in the lower 60s. We'll watch those numbers gradually drop though. We're at 72 in Hamilton, at 77 in Carrollton, Tuscaloosa, Moundville at 78. Same for you Asheville, Gadsden, Talladega.
They're in the 70s. 7 in Ranger, 76 here. Dry radar for us right now, but we do have those clouds continuing to sock us in and we'll see that throughout the rest of the afternoon and the evening hours. Even though our front is pushed to the south, we still have some flow coming in and from the west here and that's helping to keep the cloud cover.
Little wave pushing along the front though, keeping the bulk of the rain though down along the coastline as high pressure builds in from the north. So, temperatures go from 78 at 5:00 down to 67 by 9:00. Plenty of clouds out there this evening. Overnight, we'll see low temperatures. Lower 50s along Highway 28 there from Hamilton all the way to Gadsden. Uh, from Carrollton at 57. Same for you Alabaster, Birmingham about 56.
Rockford at 58 and 53 for you over in Lineville. So, we are talking little cool weather out there. We're a few more nights of these before things start to change. So, after cool start in the 50s, we do warm up to the lower 80s in the afternoon. Morning clouds giving way to some afternoon sunshine. A dry, pretty day for our Tuesday. Now, the chance for rain zero tomorrow.
Can't rule out a sprinkle Wednesday with our front. Then after that, we're going to dry out all the way through Monday, and you can see little to no rain over the next 7 days. Maybe a few of you could pick up a hundredth of an inch of rain, but that would be about it. So, here's our next weather system, this front coming in. This is Wednesday morning off to the north. During the day Wednesday, it moves through the area here by 5:00. Maybe a couple of sprinkles, but really not much really rain, no moisture to deal with this one.
High pressure building in behind as we get into Thursday, making for some beautiful weather, quiet conditions, but eventually that high is going to slide off to the eastern seaboard, and that's going to allow us to become more humid as we get into Friday and Saturday. So, drying out Thursday, the muggy weather comes back for the weekend, and that's when we'll be dealing with some warmer temperatures, too. So, a little cooler there Thursday, upper 70s, but how about to the mid uppers 80s as we get into your Saturday time frame here, and it's all thanks to this ridge of high pressure off the east coast here that southerly flow brings back the warmer, more humid air from the gulf, but our jet stream's going to stay to the north.
So, any kind of weather systems not coming through, that high is going to block them from passing across our area.
So, the weekend, how about some pool weather Saturday and Sunday? 87 to 89° out there, nice and warm. The UV index pushing your 10 for the upcoming weekend, and that warming trend will continue not only for the weekend, but into next week. Potentially could hit 90°, maybe Tuesday and Wednesday with a few pop-up showers.
