Underground Oil Tank SpillAdded:
Good morning, children, and welcome to the Tank Masters YouTube channel.
So, I was told last night by Craig that it's a 275 above-ground removal right here in Florida.
I said, "I'm not going to that. I got two site inspections."
And he called me up 15 minutes ago, "Dad, it's an underground tank." So, we bust out here, you get a little bonus video.
Let's see what we got.
This is Florida, New York.
Okay.
Probably hasn't been in use We're going to have to Yeah, I obviously this is this house is getting sold. So, whatever you got to do with this patio, yeah, it's [ __ ] whatever.
Can we throw what the whatever loose pieces back in the void when we backfill?
So, you want me to put it to the side?
Okay.
Well, I'll do whatever you guys want, you know?
You want me to keep them off to side and then just put topsoil back?
Actually, if if they're going to get use this as a patio, probably just a crushed concrete fill it with is better. Yeah, exactly. But I also Are you the owner?
No.
Well, I'm I'm basically family of the owner of the owner.
>> So, but I also have a concern of it's possibly leaking.
Yeah, I understand that.
>> Yeah, so I mean if it's leaking then we should just leave it open. I'll put a fence around it and then do the remediation then all this shit's going to get dug up. Yeah, we will. Hopefully we Play it by ear, right?
>> Hopefully there's not much going on in there. Yeah, okay.
All right, we'll get at it. I I'll go get a probe or a metal detector or see what we have.
Uh, they definitely don't have the metal detector.
Well, you should probably get the Corey, you're going to get the metal detector? Yeah. Okay.
Why did we bring this truck?
Why did we bring this truck? It was full already? No, but it was full in the trailer, so Oh, we should We we should actually have crushed concrete.
Cuz it's full in that paver area.
He's going to put a paver He's going to carry He's putting the paver back.
>> I well, I don't know. I You know, 1951 that If that tank's not leaking, you know, I'm not Irish. He's friends with him.
Buddy of his. Okay.
I'm going to try and back this thing now.
Uh All the way in front of the dumpster so we can still get a truck by. So, can you get in with that big red there? You got to back that up?
>> I think I'm good. All right.
All right.
So, that that tank's 75 years old.
There's no way.
They did make the tanks much better 75 years ago.
You know, when the fill is not there, they probably knocked that out or screwed it out. So, water has been getting into it.
And here I thought I was going to be sitting at home bored.
I'd rather be here doing a removal any day.
All right. Let's get the machine off.
Is there? Yeah.
There you go, buddy.
I think you I think you nailed it.
You don't think you nailed it?
>> No. Yeah.
There you go.
Right here.
But it goes under the the uh window well here. What's that called?
What does he want with these?
>> Um window well. These weren't even out of the back so Huh? We are. He said he he he didn't >> So, you shouldn't you want to sit on this?
No. If you want me to, I will.
>> I'm just saying so you don't crack the asphalt.
I don't I don't The final drive is not working on this side.
>> This guy said to put the bricks to the side. Did he? Yeah.
I don't know what Corey's talking about.
I heard him say just use it. Yeah, and but then he changed.
What's that look for now?
I was looking to see if you're done. Oh.
>> [clears throat] >> Can this process go any quicker?
What do you say? Yeah, if you were to get up. Okay.
>> [laughter] >> All right.
Good point.
Point taken.
Makes sense.
Makes complete sense.
Probably two men is better than one.
You want to see if we were right before we do any more or just Sure. Yeah.
Another good idea, Craig.
What?
I still don't know if it goes this way, but >> Can you get that plastic out of the way?
>> [clears throat] >> All right.
I feel like I I hit it.
That window well is going to have to come out though.
Craig, just see if you can get the end of it.
Cuz it may start right there and go over.
What metal detector say?
It right in that region going right to the edge of the asphalt, but we just want to make sure. Is it sitting No, this this way. Yep.
But the metal detector has been known to be wrong.
It's only as good as the operator.
>> Yeah, I was going to say it's user you you you you you you you you >> user I need one scoop there.
Can you get some more bricks?
Come on, Corey.
What? Hurry up.
You're actually doing good.
No school today?
I want to go to school. He just said he would do the bricks if he could miss school.
>> [laughter] >> What a bargain.
>> [snorts] [snorts] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> There's the stuff, huh?
There's about 15 inches of product.
That's about it.
A little bit of water? No water.
That's a good sign.
So far, so good.
Uh we need more content.
Mhm.
>> [sighs] >> No water, huh?
Uh that that there was no water on the water detecting paste, so You think it's all >> Yeah, it's black oil, absolutely. Damn, why Because the stick don't lie. Why the hell Why the hell wouldn't they pump that Pump it out?
Just didn't think about it, huh? Yeah.
Probably cuz oil back then was 32 cents a gallon. It didn't matter.
We didn't have kids dying over in the Middle East for it yet.
Hey, he always wants to use the sump.
Huh?
What happened? The sump pump he always wants to use.
Yeah. Sump it. We sump everything, dude.
I ain't using that. Well, why bother?
Thing's a pain in my ass.
I We should put that lever that shut off on the sump so it doesn't spill back in like it did the other time. So, that idea correct? Can we do that now? Yes, sir. It's genius, Craig. Craig's on the point today.
Not really. I said it was a USD.
[applause] Yeah.
Yeah, probably don't need you.
The 275 threw you off. Yeah.
All right.
Hey, my eye? Hey, Conrad.
My eye on?
Yeah.
What's Conrad the kid? Looks like he can ball.
There's nothing in Florida, so he has to play basketball, I guess, or soccer.
Hey, when I put that away No. Oh. You think he can play?
>> He can play war varsity football. Oh, yeah? Yeah. When I put that away, I think Corey's going to be pissed having to take that out. Why? Cuz it was nestled in there.
Slow mo.
Uh-oh. What?
That did not just happen. Bro.
The amount of dirt that just fell into that tank.
You got snot coming off your nose, heavy, Corey.
Oh, hey, going to take another scoop.
Wait, let's pump it first.
Let us pump this, and then we'll do it.
I I actually was just going to push it down. So so no more fell in.
>> That's fine. I thought a lot [snorts] really fell in. A lot.
I'm going to say 3/4 of a bucket.
I didn't get to eat my breakfast yet.
You guys are slave drivers.
You going in, Craig? You Craigy's going in. Craigy. You chicken? Craigy, you liking the tank?
Slow mo.
Corey, you coming our site inspections?
Sure.
More money. Go to Cheesecake Factory?
Anything's possible.
Did you say anything or anything?
Anything's possible.
>> Anything? Anything. Any? Anything.
>> Or any? I don't like Hennessy. Me neither. Tastes like gasoline.
And I've tasted gasoline. It's all right. It's all right. It was Nate.
Every single Yeah, he's tasted heat. He tasted number two fuel.
This is your friend's home?
>> No, this is my grandfather's, now my uncle. Your uncle? Grandfather built it.
Is it on the market?
What's it selling for?
I mean, my they usually put it on for 350. I mean, we've had offers right around low 300s.
>> Wow.
Do the inside look good?
It's got to be dated.
>> It's pretty It's pretty structurally sound.
We got Craig going in.
Oh, Mikey is in Boston.
Watching the Bruin and the Celtics playoffs.
Back truck guy's going to love that one.
>> Corey, you just did the tongue right there. Doing the tongue right there.
I never knew he did that.
>> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> Okay.
Maybe I just broke it to them. They took it pretty good.
>> [snorts] >> Hopefully it's not too bad we get in there.
This way I look like a hero.
>> [snorts] >> And I don't get pulled over by the police chief.
Yeah, Jim, he's a good guy, though. He's a good man.
>> [snorts] >> Just going to put a safety fence around this.
And we'll probably be back in a month.
I'm going to take all these bricks, throw them in the hole, and I'm just going to get more topsoil and seed it for them.
Make it look a lot better. They're selling, so that'll be that.
Okay, kids.
Turned out to be a good Monday.
That's another fine job by Tank Masters Environmental.
