Newcastle or Newercastle?

[00:00:00]You might be wondering why Newcastle is called Newcastle. Is because of that behind me. There isn't it? No, not exactly. This is a reconstruction of the original castle. So if anything this city should be called Newer Castle, shouldn't it? The story goes that William the Conqueror had harried the north, but northerners still weren't playing ball. And so where religion had its cathedrals, those mighty intimidating Norman structures, for power and maintaining it by the Normans who came over from what we know now as France, castles.

The Normans are here and they're not going anywhere. I think if I were living in a straw hut with the legacy of the Romans, I would feel rather intimidated by the castle like this.
