Wal Mart Now Carries Arrow Video Steelbooks!!!!!

[00:00:06]Hey everybody and welcome to SteelBook Obsessed. My name is Jake and today I'm right outside of Walmart. Hey, look at that. I heard that there were a few new SteelBooks out this week and I had to find out for myself if they were at my local Walmart or not. They have a pretty pretty stacked physical media section normally, so fingers crossed that I'm able to find a couple. I already have Avatar uh Fire and Ash. I got that from Disney, but there are a couple of new Arrow Video titles and by new I mean not new in their catalog, but new in the SteelBook format and a couple of Arrow Video titles I don't yet have in my collection. So, if I find them, I'm going to be grabbing them and adding them to my collection. If you like this type of content, please like the video, subscribe to the channel, all that fun stuff. But now, let's waste no more time and start going into Walmart. Oh, boy.

[00:00:57]Uh Now, I have been told that the Walmart in my hometown looks a lot better than a lot of the other Walmart's that some of you watching this have around them.

[00:01:08]That's very unfortunate, but I'm really hoping that [laughter] I get lucky and find these Arrow Video titles. Um it looks like there's one Avatar Fire and Ash SteelBook left. Uh at least the SteelBook came into the store, so that's nice to see and they're selling pretty well obviously. But there's a bunch of Avatar's in here. I'll make sure that it stays there so people can see it and buy it. Here is the 4K slip cover which looks mighty nice. The A's on all of these though drive me crazy on the spine. The Blu-ray slip cover also looks very and span. We have Fallout Season 2 on Blu-ray. We've got Reminders of Him. We've got It Welcome to Derry.

[00:01:47]We got Mercy. I love seeing the 4K's. I love seeing The House Made even too. Um more 4K's. Good luck, have fun, don't die. Marty Supreme is also 4K.

[00:01:57]Um I am trying to show my support cuz the more that we do, the more 4Ks will appear. Blu-rays are nice. DVDs are the ones that really sell a lot of volume.

[00:02:08]But for my money, 4K is where I'm currently at as a collector. And as we get over to this side of the end cap, we see new steel books, people. And maybe not new steel books for these. The Mandalorians also in 4K. The first three seasons, I guess the only three seasons, are here in steelbook format. Very cool.

[00:02:26]The tie-in to Mandalorian Grogu.

[00:02:29]Yeah, I am not that excited to see the movie. I like seasons 1 and 2 of Mandalorian. Season 3 fell off a cliff and I feel like that's where the movie's going to be at, too. But oh my god, The Warriors 4K steelbook is now in my hands. Thank the good lord. I love this movie and I missed out on the Arrow Video box set. I am happier than hell to go and get this steelbook as opposed to that box set. Looks like Speed Racer has sold out already. And there's only one more copy of Conan the Barbarian, as well. I love seeing these Arrow Videos sell like hotcakes, absolutely. This is another box set that I sold out on or that sold out before I could pick up and add to my collection. Here's Alligator from Scream Factory. Scream Factory and Arrow Video back-to-back. Oh, look at those scales. I like the scaly effect on that steelbook. Scream Factory, Arrow Video, hand-in-hand at a Walmart in 2026. What what world is this? I did not think I would say that sentence ever.

[00:03:27]SpongeBob SquarePants SpongeOut of Water is here on steelbook, as well. And yeah, here's just a little bit of the ends.

[00:03:35]The Island of Misfit Toys, I like to call this section. And speaking of sections, dear god, here This did not used to be movies last time I was here about a week ago. This was all vinyls. So, it's very cool to see that all the movies are all like in one spot where you don't have to walk all over cuz they were kind of just weirdly put together. I didn't really understand why. This makes a lot more sense and I'm hopefully sales show that, too. I thought that was a steelbook. That's just a DVD of Godfather, but they had Dogma here on 4K. They also have Oh, they got Over the Garden Wall as well. I love this show and it's been out of print for a very long time. So, very happy that now that it's back in print, it is now here at Walmart. I'll probably have to pick up a copy of that as well for my kids.

[00:04:22]And it looks like there's a bunch of Cartoon Network goodies to be had here.

[00:04:26]Always love to see that on physical media. And there is so much TV on DVD and Blu-ray. Don't get me wrong, but this is the main format that I don't collect for in physical media. Takes up too much space and for me, space is at a premium. I am okay with streaming the majority of TV shows. Like there are some highly acclaimed that I would love to get 4Ks of Breaking Bad being like the main one I want to have in my collection on 4K. I've got Ted Lasso on 4K, but like a lot of the episodic stuff, I'm just okay with streaming it.

[00:04:57]But yeah, this is very exciting. I'd love to see that every movie is very close to each other. There's this one little random end cap now with anime on one side and like new slip covers most own favorites on the other. I do like these slip covers and I also like to see 4Ks getting mixed in the slip cover treatment. More of that, please. I will It gives me a reason to go and buy movies I already have if the slip cover looks nice and crispy. That Jaws one looks good as well. There was a Thing one that must have sold out already cuz that one looked mighty, mighty nice.

[00:05:32]Oh, Over the Garden Wall is in two different spots in my Walmart. Yes, yes, yes. I hope if you have not seen that show, that limited series, you should go and check it out. I'm telling you, it is phenomenal. And uh here's a whole bunch of uh odds and ends, the novelty stuff.

[00:05:49]A penguin action figure, looks like a NECA figure, uh but I couldn't open it.

[00:05:52]Normally the boxes It looks like somebody tried to rip it open.

[00:05:55][laughter] That's not very good. Um but yeah, just I can't believe they didn't have a see-through box like they normally do on all of those. Here are some Mortal Kombat vinyl figures, I guess. There's one of Sub-Zero. There was another one of Scorpion with like a skull head. That one looks pretty dang cool, if you ask me.

[00:06:12]Um over here, what do we have next? We got a Terrifier, a Terrifier 3D figure lamp. That goes pretty hard. It's 35 bucks. I'm not going to spend 35 bucks on a novelty lamp, but uh I'm also okay with Terrifier. I'm not like a Terrifier stan, so I will just keep that there as well. Going over here, we got some Chucky goodness, including some T-shirts. And uh we also have some Day of the Dead figures. These were all laid out when I got there. What? I know the 4K is coming out, but I did not think that they would make new new action figures, old-school looking action figures, retro-inspired action figures of Day of the Dead. 30 bucks is a lot for that, in my opinion. Um but yeah, here's another NECA figure. Uh there's the Scream or the Scary Movie Ghostface on here.

[00:06:59]Um and this one yeah, this one opens up like normal. I don't know why the other one didn't. That Those Day of the Dead are just very cool to see in my Walmart.

[00:07:06]And all of this is very cool just to walk and have all in one confined place.

[00:07:10]Always love to see it in my Walmart.

[00:07:13]Hopefully your Walmart looks similar close to what this one does. Um but yeah, my Walmart also still has a $5 bin. I heard those are going away somewhere as well. I always got to do a nice little dumpster dive, see what I find. A four-pack of Scooby-Doo movies.

[00:07:27]Um for the price, you can't beat it, but uh there are some pretty decent movies, if you're just looking to buy movies that you like. I know a lot of the younger crowd is just getting into collecting and buying DVD players at Goodwill. You might want to hit Walmart up and see what they have for five bucks. But, here is what I got. I'm so, so happy. Let me talk to you more about it. Well, that was a nice surprise at Walmart. Dear god, I never really know exactly what I'm going to walk into whenever I step foot in that store. I normally have good luck though, and whenever I post anything in the comments, always just like, "My Walmart never looks anything like this." So, I don't know if I am just in like the right neck of the woods or not. But, I ended up leaving with three titles there. The two steel books, and before we get to the steel books, I also got Over the Garden Wall. I had this bootlegged because I could not find a reasonable copy on a price of this cuz it was out of print forever. Now that it is back in print, it is in my collection permanently. Very happy to add this. If you've not seen Over the Garden Wall, highly recommend. My girls and I really thoroughly enjoyed this. But, right now, let's talk about the two Arrow Video steelbook goodies. I bought both of these to kind of set a precedent. I wanted to make sure that my voice was heard. I love that Arrow Video is coming back and making steelbooks. I probably have around 15 of them in my collection right over here. Adding two more is just so, so nice. And these were two movies that I didn't have in the collection yet. These were two movies that um for some rhyme or reason I didn't pick up, and they sold out very quickly. So, I'm very happy that they decided to go back and re-release these as a steelbook.

[00:09:11]But, now we are going to unwrap these suckers and look at them individually just because I don't even know what these look like a thousand percent, and I kind of want to do like a first unboxing visitation with you as well. As you can see, they do have like the quarter J-cards on here. Always nice to see. I love this original artwork for The Warriors so dang much. It pops like mad. And honestly, I like this artwork a heck of a lot more than the artwork that they did on their big baby box set which kind of looks a little reminiscent of this. This is like very simplistic but this looks so dang nice. I love this opening it up like so. Boom.

[00:09:50]You got the front and back cover not really meshing too much but still giving off the same aesthetic which I really really appreciate. Here is where we can get some of the artwork. It comes with a poster. It comes with a promotional card. What's a promotional card going to be? Excalibur. That's not that fun.

[00:10:06]The inside artwork here as you can see it only has a 4K disc inside.

[00:10:10]I believe so. Yeah, it's everything is on this sucker right here and then it has a nice shot of The Warriors on the inside. It's been a far too long since I've seen The Warriors. I've heard this 4K is phenomenal. And I really enjoyed watching this movie when I did God probably 15 years ago now.

[00:10:28]But I like how they're including posters even in their steelbook sets just adding a little bit more value.

[00:10:34]I don't know if you saw the video but I'm actually hanging up some of my posters. I might do it for The Warriors cuz this is what the original artwork looked like.

[00:10:41]The box set the newly commissioned artwork looks okay.

[00:10:45]This though. Oh my God that's all types of sexy. I loved this movie and I watched it back when the PSP version of The Warriors video game came out. I played it. I loved it and that was before I even saw the movie. I watched the movie afterwards because that game came out. Back when Rockstar Games would make more than one game every 5 years.

[00:11:06]They would come out with at least one a year and The Warriors beat them up game that came out back in the PS2 Xbox and PSP days like mint. That game was so so fun. But there is The Warriors and now here's a movie Conan the Barbarian the movie I have not seen yet.

[00:11:26]I I was very on the fence on picking it up cuz I didn't know if I was going to enjoy the damn movie or not. But, uh once the steelbook comes out, that I was I was here. Um I'm definitely leaning towards the buy it side of the fence now. Um very very happy I added to the collection. Very happy I didn't buy the Conan Chronicles because I've heard very terrible things about Conan the Destroyer. If I would have got the individual box sets, I would have felt like I would have needed both of them as well. Now, it just takes up a little piece in my collection, and uh I'm okay if I only own one out of the two. So, again, the J-card like so. There is Conan the Barbarian. I'm really hoping for no scratches, no dings. Doing a very slow pan here just so we can kind of discover that together. And no, I got a flawless flawless cover. Um I actually I actually bought a version a day before I went into this store um and recorded the the footage that you saw. I recorded a short. And uh during that short, I didn't look through all the copies on the shelf like I should have. I was kind of in a hurry. I bought a copy with a nice dang ding in it. And I had to return the sucker. And returning anything at Walmart, oh my god, that is what purgatory looks like. That >> [laughter] >> is just so uh I'm not a fan. Not not a fan of that at all. Waited forever. Just tests all of your patience on a lot of different levels. But, at the end of the day, I waited like a 20 minutes to get up there, returned my copy, and I was able to get a nice pristine copy. So, shame on me for not looking. Back in the day, when you would go to your Best Buys and uh everywhere that sold movies, you that's one of the main benefits on why I would love to go. Is going and having your pick at the litter, looking at all the copies, finding the most pristine edition. I must be out of practice cuz I did not do it with this one. But now, I had a second chance, and I was able to finally get it myself. Here is the front and back cover. Looking mighty mighty nice if I do say so myself. Once again, we do have a poster.

[00:13:27]I open it up here. Ooh, okay. This is the original poster and then they also have just like a nice one shot of Arnold glistening in the sun and so is his big old sword. The gladiator the thief warrior gladiator king.

[00:13:43]There's also rumors and tidbits that they're going to make a King Conan movie with nowadays old what 76-year-old Arnold Schwarzenegger. And how he's going to get the throne. I think he talked about this being very similar to the movie Unforgiven. So that could be interesting. The promo card is this wild style, but this one actually comes with two discs, which is mighty mighty nice of them.

[00:14:08]Both one 4K one Blu-ray. The the feature is over here with the movie and then you get a Blu-ray chock-full of special features. Always love to see that and on the inside here might as well kind of complete the whole unboxing. We got a little baby Arnold right there. But Yeah, that is that's my trip to Walmart.

[00:14:28]That is all the goodies that I found. I feel like I haven't had a physical like new release pickup like this in a very very long time and I am kind of kind of thrilled kind of giddy that I was able to relive a little bit of that cuz like I said this used to be a weekly ritual for me.

[00:14:46]And now it's very few and far between very slim pickings, but not today. Today your boy is eating good. Let me know in the comments if you are able to find these in your Walmart's. I have to just be like in one of like the the main tester bets or something like that. I have to have like one of the better Walmart's around me cuz there's a few that are in like a 30-minute drive that look pretty dang similar to this.

[00:15:14]So maybe I'm just a lucky one. Maybe I live in Iowa. Maybe this is just like physical media Mecca and people still buy it per capita more than a lot of other places in the US. I'm not sure, but all I know is that I'm happy. I'm happy that I'm able to pick this up in retail. Thanks for watching and until next time, I'll see you.
