This rescue exemplifies the necessary patience required to provide medical dignity to animals that perceive help as a threat. It is a pragmatic application of animal welfare that prioritizes long-term health over immediate cooperation.

HISSY FIT! Another TRAPPED Cat Rescue!追加:
All right. So, I have caught my second feral kitty cat. This thing is pretty high. What's your name? What's your name?
And uh I'm trying to find myself a handle.
Okay, hold on. I'm just trying to get you out of here. Okay, I'm not trying to hurt you. I just want to look at you for a minute. You're so pretty.
You're so pretty, but you are too big for that little cage. So, I'm going to move him over or him or her over right now. You're so pretty. Are you a boy or a girl? Oh, you're a hissyfisty.
I just want to make sure it doesn't have kittens. That's the main thing you don't want to do is catch a mom who may have kittens somewhere. All right. And so, we got to be careful about that.
Now, I can't tell from here. here. I won't be able to see until I can get her out of there. And I do not have gloves, but uh don't forget that we have a lot of stray cats living over here in these woods behind us.
And um I just can't it's too it's too dark to see what I'm doing to be honest, guys.
All right, we're going to transfer this kitty cat into this larger cage because that's too small of a cage of a trap to transport. Uh, hey, Stella, come out of there, Stella. Move. Move it. This is way too small of Oh, the kitty cat's upside down. Guys, we're going to trans transfer this kitty cat into this cage here.
Uh because I do believe I'm going to need Jamie's help for this. I do not want this cat to trying to be transported into uh all the way over to the JL ranch in this small of a trap. So, give me a moment here. Okay.
>> Some scratches.
>> All right. So, look at this big old scratch over on its back end. Oh, I'm sorry, baby.
>> Poor baby. So, it has a really big scratch over on its back end over here.
>> Hi, sweetie.
>> And so, Jamie has seen this cat around a lot. Big catfish head >> like live settle down in the in the horse barn here.
>> Yeah, it's been out in the horse barn.
>> My baby.
>> And then I did look under it and I do not see any udder. So, I not Millie, what is she doing? You flea bag. Stop it, guys. She's barking for no reason.
There's probably another cat over here.
I was just going to say there's probably another cat somewhere.
>> What do you see up there?
Why are you barking for you old flea bag? All right. So, what were you saying, babe?
>> I see this cat out in the barn.
>> Yeah. Look over here, babe. Now, could that be mange?
>> No, I think it just rubbed it raw. It's fresh.
>> Okay. Can we spray that with some purple horse spray, you think, while it's right there? No.
>> I have some that medicate it while we have it.
>> That I'll get it.
>> Okay.
He may scatter when you put touch him with that stuff.
>> Hold on. So, you got to look over here and then >> Oh, smart, babe. Smart.
>> You're so good. You should have been a vet. Made a lot of money.
>> Shoot.
>> Would you be a small animal vet or a large animal vet?
>> Be an all animal except reptiles.
>> All except for reptiles. That would be a fun question for you all in the comments. If you were able to be a vet, what would be your specialty animal?
>> It's okay.
>> Your specialty animal or would you be an all except far? And what would be your except far? Jamie would be an all animal vet except for reptiles. No snakes.
>> Thank you for doing that. Jamie thinks that that cat got scraped up in the trap. That's not like some kind of an injury or a wound. It's just scraped hair from being in that smaller trap.
So, I put some SSD on it. And then >> you got to be a little bit louder, Rick.
The fan.
>> Yeah, I put I put some SSD on it. This is uh silver sulfad ciaine cream. Okay.
>> And that's a wound cream for like burns, scrapes, cuts, whatever.
Hopefully hopefully this cat just allows that to be on there and doesn't lick it off. If we see it's linked off, then we'll be seeing it.
>> Okay.
>> But he looks pretty stressed. We will take him over to the JL tomorrow and then we'll have to at some point make an appointment for him.
>> I think it's going to turn out to be pretty sweet. Actually, >> he or she now has food and water and a whole lot more moving around room until we take it over to the JL tomorrow.
Jamie wants the cat to have something to cozy up to. So, she's going to put an old t-shirt in there. Don't you let that cat come out of there.
There you go. Who's making that? Stop it, Maro.
Marorrow, leave it al >> Well, here's what I'm thinking. Listen, for anyone who's upset about taking that cat away >> from living in the wild, what we're going to offer that cat is daily food, daily on the shirt, >> daily clean water, shelter from the elements. That cat will never have to go hunting for survival, and it'll be spayed or neutered, which means it will not continue to populate with more cats.
>> We have a population problem.
>> Yeah. And it's not us.
>> They're not our cats.
>> Yeah. They're not our cats. They are cats that have been dumped over here who live in that old shack back behind our property. And all we've been doing is feeding them for as long as we can think of. But, uh, we're doing the right thing for the cat.
>> So stressed.
>> And in return, hopefully they're going to help us with our predator issues as far as mice and snakes. Careful, bae.
A, it needs love.
>> I know it does. Don't let it bite you, though.
>> It's not going to.
>> Sweet kitty. Sweet kitty. Kitty kitty.
Sweet kitty.
>> It's okay, baby.
>> And we'll get flea treatment on it and all the other things like >> it'll be gets it vaccinations and all the things, guys. And this cat has never had a chance to see a vet in its life.
So, this is a good thing. Real good thing.
So, I did what you suggested, and I moved Ivy's food bowl over here to the center of the uh horse stable.
And I'm hoping that this here will help her want to eat all of her food because she does have meds in that stuff, guys. She does have her food packed with meds that she needs to eat.
I'm also brushing her now. I don't know if I should brush her while she's eating. I don't know if animals like that or not. Poor gal, guys. This old poor gal. Love this girl. Oh, I love this girl.
I remember the first time we got that phone call. while I was at work and Liberty County called me and says there's a donkey who needs help. Am I able to help her?
And uh Jamie was not living here at the time.
So I'm like, you know what? Sure, I'll help her. So I told my boss, I says, listen, I have to go.
And I'll tell you what, my life has never been the same. Right, sweetie?
Your life has never been the same.
Neither has mine.
Such an old girl, guys. She was 30 years old when we got her. And if you wonder how a vet can determine the age in animals, they look at all kinds of things, but muscle structure or muscle deterioration deterioration.
Teeth is a big factor. And there there are ways that doctors can tell the age, but their muscles begin to break down.
Their teeth grind down to a certain stage. And so it's easy for vets to tell you a really good estimate of how old a baby is. And so that was at least five or six, seven years ago, guys. So Ivy's probably a 35year-old donkey.
She's absolutely the oldest of our babies.
She's lived a good life though, guys. A really good life. And she's so happy.
She's always considered herself a horse, though. She never wanted to be a donkey.
Really? We had it with other donkeys.
And you all know what happened there, right? Ivy, interesting story. Ivy took over, guys. She stole a baby. That's right. If you don't know that story, Ivy was a donkey who stole another donkey's baby and claimed that baby as her own.
All right, you want to hear a story that's going to freak you out? Many of you guys have been around that long, but we had I'm a Jean who was pregnant.
I'mmaan had a beautiful baby.
One day I walked outside and noticed that Ivy would not let that baby go to its mother. Ivy was keeping that baby away from its mom. And we're like, "Ivy, what are you doing, you weirdo?"
Guys, next thing I know, Ivy has that baby nursing off of her. And you're going to say, "Wait a minute, Lester.
Ivy's too old to have a baby. How could she have that that baby nursing off of her?" Guys, I'm not making it up.
Ivy developed milk in her glands and she was able to feed that baby.
We had to literally take that baby and move it back to mom. I'mma gene where I'mma was able to raise that baby. And then Jamie and I decided to go ahead and allow Ivy to be bred.
Ivy did end up getting bred, had herself a baby a year later. That baby we named Ivan and Ivan is now Pawpaw's donkey. So we allowed Ivy to experience motherhood for her for herself.
And uh this is one remarkable little girl, guys. Just one amazing little girl here. She has really shown us some crazy moments in life and now she's living out the last years of her life here with all of our wonderful horses.
We love her.
Love her so much, guys.
We're going to certainly miss her when she's no longer with us. Everybody here gets along with her. There's never any issues with fighting or kicking or biting with Ivy. She's just kind of the OG. She's one of the original, guys. And everyone respects her for her for her being the elder.
They respect their elders here, guys.
They certainly do respect their elders.
And she just has a beautiful story. I don't want to brush too hard on her face with this brush. This is the kind that pulls a lot of hair out that needs to come out, but it can also scrape them and scratch them pretty good if you brush too hard on their face areas.
And I would not use this brush if she did not have so much hair that needs to come out. Look at all that. She's shedding good. I'm going to spray her with some fly spray now.
