A Yoder loop is a hot gas loop that runs around refrigerator door perimeters to prevent doors from freezing to the compartment; when this loop leaks and cannot be accessed without major disassembly, it can be bypassed by rerouting the refrigerant line, allowing the refrigerator to be repaired and restored to working condition without scrapping the entire unit.

The Secret Refrigerant Line Hidden Inside Your RefrigeratorAdded:
All right, so we did all the dryers.
Now, we're moving on to the refrigerators. I do the dryers first cuz they're super easy. So, now that I've done the most easiest thing, now I'm going to do the most hardest thing, and that is the refrigerators. This one has a Yoder loop leak, and if you think I just made up a new word, I'd say nay.
And if you don't know what that is, that's okay, cuz I'm cutting that thing out. A Yoder loop is basically a hot gas loop that goes around the perimeters of all the doors on your refrigerator, and it stops the door from freezing to the compartment of the fridge. put your hand on the partition between the fridge and freezer, you can actually feel your Yoder loop. Say that three times fast. I tried to find it in the door jam, but could not do so, so I'm bypassing it.
It's not essential to the refrigerator, and on this model, to get to it, you'd have to rip the fridge apart. It may condensate around the doors, especially if this ends up being a garage refrigerator, but if it's in a climate-controlled home, it's less likely to do it. My assumption is that's where it's going to end up in someone's home, but I guess we will find out.
That's up to the Lord. While I have never bypassed a Yoder loop before, I do know that it is possible. I have heard it talked about, so this is my first ever attempt at it. The most frustrating part about sealed system repairs like this is that they take so freaking long.
For example, if you look at the screen now, you notice that it looks like I just took a picture, but I didn't. The standard procedure for this repair is to pressurize with nitrogen to 100 lb, and then let it sit for a half hour to make sure that all of your braces are good and it's not leaking any nitrogen. Now, obviously, I went to public school, and I learned many a lessons. And one of the lessons that sticks with me even till this day, and I didn't believe it at the time, but the kids told me that bigger and blacker is actually better. And at the time, I didn't know what they were talking about, but I had no idea they were talking about these 3/8 Appion Speed Kit 5 Megaflow vacuum hoses. It's incredible that they were so ahead of their time. What's also ironic is that they are HVAC technicians, as well. All jokes aside, these hoses are worth double what I paid for them because they have halved my sealed system repair job time. I'll put them in the description below. Don't feel obligated, but somebody mentioned them in a video that I was watching and I swear I wish I could remember who it was cuz I would shout them out. I think this is also a good time to point out that if you guys don't go and like the video right now, you probably never will and I will be sad forever because of it. Ladies and gentlemen, the sealed system is now preparing for departure. Please ensure all fittings are secure and all hoses are properly connected. At this time, we will begin our descent to 500 microns.
Please close the air balance and verify the vacuum pump is operating smoothly.
Cabin crew, prepare the Schrader valves for opening. We are now charging refrigerant to a cruising level of 47 g.
Please remain seated while pressure stabilize and the system prepares for normal operation. Thank you for flying Appliance Fixer Guy Airlines. And now, no matter how much you hated to hear that, I hated to do it even more, but I couldn't miss out on the opportunity. I have friends that watch this So, let's just pretend that it never happened and we'll go about our merry way. It was nice of that guy to leave the price sheet in the refrigerator.
It's starting to cool down and I'm coming for that suck on the next video.
