Ontario to extend last call to 4 a.m. during World Cup

[00:00:00]The Ford government will be allowing bars to serve up booze late into the night or early into the morning during the FIFA World Cup next month. Under the plan, bars and restaurants would be allowed to make last call as late as 4:00 a.m. for the duration of the tournament without needing a special permit. The move would apply from mid-June through mid-July, doubling the usual last call time. The province says it's aimed at supporting businesses and hospitality workers during the global event. We talked to some Torontonians this morning to get their thoughts.

[00:00:34]I guess especially if they're going to be watching the game uh alcohol is I guess part of that and having a good time and having a beer or two well so I think 4:00 a.m. is okay.

[00:00:43]Well, I guess it depends if the city is equipped to like handle all that and handle all the people and have like the trains like the TTC like running and everything too. So, I feel like there's a lot of aspects to consider.

[00:00:54]>> Probably all right. I mean you know, it's better than people being out on the street I suppose. It's already going to be crazy busy down here, so Yeah. I guess it's okay.
