The story effectively deconstructs the trope of heroic sacrifice by revealing how Storm’s divine ascension becomes the very catalyst for multiversal ruin. It offers a sobering look at the insignificance of individual agency when caught in the cold machinery of cosmic entities.

Storm Is the Reason the Multiverse Is Dying!Added:
Storm is standing outside the multiverse entirely, being told by someone wearing her dead mother's face that the whole universe is dying. But it all starts with a murder mutant in her sanctuary and a friend's corpse being turned into a weapon. This here is coming out of Storm's Earth's Mightiest Mutant with issue number three. I'm Murawa Aodelli and Federica Mensine. So, let's keep it comic. So, look, I'm going to be very upfront with you here. This is a very dense one and we're dealing with multiple mythologies here, multiple realms, multiple timelines, and a whole lot of moving pieces all at once. But we're going to work through it here together. And I promise that by the end of it, it's going to all make sense. At least mostly.
So, we jump back here. This is where we start off with a flashback, which is after the Thunder War, but before what happened here in Beerit. Now, we're in the Alissian fields here, the underworld, the afterlife paradise here from Greek mythology. Now, Storm is here and she's walking with Maggot, Japth, her friend who was assassinated here by the FBI in the previous arc. Now, one of the things that Maggot talks about are these storms that they keep on having, which in Alisium is supposed to be literally impossible. They've got a whole no negative emotions rule going on. And Storm's like, "Yeah, I suspect that death gods may just not be very fond here of storm gods showing up in their space, which is entirely fair."
Now they walk up to something very interesting here. This massive skeletal giant and Maggot explains what happened that Hades and Preciphany stepped down from the underworld throne and gave it to their daughter Macaria and Maggot was told that it wasn't nepotism that it's just monarchy. Either way, Kronos, the king of the titans, grandfathered the Olympian gods himself, looked at Macaria and decided that she was weak and tried to take Elissium from her. and for his rebellion. Well, that's basically where he was left. So, they get into this whole thing. She wants to know like, "Hey, how exactly has Magga been?" And Storm tells him that she spent the past 2 months visiting every afterlife realm in existence. Vajala, Helheim, like all of them, right? She lists out all of them and she says that none of them are a paradise in the way that we usually presume. She was looking for Dr. Voodoo, her friend, the one who, as we know here from the very last arc, was kidnapped by Mistress Death and was forced to become her Avatar, but she didn't find him, which means that he's still alive somewhere. But on the other hand, she did find her parents. Now, Storm says that her mother continues to avoid her company. And Maggot's response right here is absolutely funny to me. He's like, "Well, uh, how about you give her a grandkid?" You know, because parents love grandkids. which 100% by the way is a plug because we already know that she has a daughter here that appeared in the X-Men Hellfire Vigil. I believe that was like a oneshot series here. And from my understanding in the very next issue that drops after this, we're going to be seeing her here officially. Like that's supposed to be her proper debut. But what Storm continues to explain here is that she gave away her mother's ruby.
The only thing that Nadair ever left behind for her, which is something that Storm gave away to secure medical services here for mutants that were in need. Something that we saw back here in her very last arc as well. And according to her, she's like her mother taught her about sacrificial given, so Storm figured it wouldn't upset her. Well, it it actually did. So then Maga asks this last question here before they part ways. He's like, "If bringing him back to life would start a war between the underworld and earth, would it be worth it?" And Storm's response is, "I would war against every single realm in existence to be able to do that." So, what we do next here is that we jump over to the present, 2 days, by the way, before Akujun's invasion of Earth. And for the sake of this video here, I won't go through that again because I explained that back in the very last issue. So, definitely go check out the playlist here for the series. But what we saw at the very end of last issue gear is that in her current sanctuary out in Berits, there was a mutant that was murdered at her sanctuary that was found dead here under a tree. And no one knows if it's an intolerant human or a mutant trying to frame a human for it.
Either way, someone played sick games with an innocent life in the one place that Storm built to be safe. And this is a thing right now with Storm. She's like, I am dog tired of losing people to meaningless death. And she goes on, she's like, "Humans, mutants." You all continue to bicker and fight, leaving piled corpse in your wake. You were asked, "Who will inherit the earth?
Humans, mutants, cohabitation, separation." And I kind of like these next panels here where we're kind of goes black and white as he's sort of like in this rage mode. She's like, "No, in the end, death is always your answer.
This innocent mutant killed by either an intolerant human or a mutant hoping to frame a human for the murder games. Sick games with an innocent life. Nothing is sacred to you. An army assembles itself at our doorstep, wishing upon our ruin and destruction. Yet you would rather do their work for them. And then she screams it, "What more would you have me do?" But then we shift here to where the color comes back in on the panel and there's this person in an astronaut suit that just says that's easy just give up.
And it's here where this person snaps and what we see next is that she is dragged into this location that is beyond the confines of their multiverse.
So she's like, "Yeah, what the heck is the meaning of this? What is this place?
Who are you?" And the response is, "I am sorry that I brought you to this place without asking you first, but trust me, this is for your own good." And when Storm looks up, she's like, "Oh, Jean, I missed you, sister." But the person is like, "Uh, that ain't Phoenix. That's the raptor. And we got to hop on up out of here."
Because the raptor turns powerful beings into building blocks for the wall. So, basically, here they go on this retreat.
They kind of like jump over this cliff.
Storm is catching in all the sights that honestly to her look really beautiful.
And I'm not going to lie to you, like these are drawn pretty well. So, as they're falling, Storm is asking the question, "Hey, like can you fly?" To which they're like, "Uh, no, I can't and I'll probably die when I hit the primordial amniotic fluid that's down below and you'll be stuck here forever."
So, now Storm realizes, "Okay, damn. I guess I got to save this person." And as they drop here into this water, the raptor runs out of space cuz it doesn't want to get in itself or hiss himself herself. Like we don't even know.
But they say at this point they're like rotten primordial oozeish stains. So then Storm has to rescue this person here out of the water. And then she twists the helmet off here. And she could not expect what she saw next cuz what she sees here is passed out. her mother, the same woman that she just said was still avoiding her when she traveled to one of them other realms. So when her mother finally awakes here, you know, Storm is just seeing crying. She's like, "You're not my mother, are you?"
To which she responds back, she's like, "I'm the dare Monroe like your mother, but not the one that you know." To which Storm is like, "A different universe?"
She's like, "Yeah, a different universe." So the question is like, "Why did you bring me here?" And please, no more vague, it's for your own good answers. And she just tells her straight up. She's like, "Your universe is dying, Auroro." And really for Storm, she's kind of tired of this old trope herself.
She's like, "Some being always comes to her and tells her that her universe is dying and how she, Storm, must fight to save it." And in the end, basically what she discovers is that she's simply just a disposable piece on their cosmic chessboard. And she makes the point by saying like in the end the universe is safe in a way that she was never really sure it was ever truly in danger in the first place but her body and soul are introduced to these new hurts and in the end she is the one who dies one piece at a time. So essentially yeah she's skeptical but also at the same time she's saying that she's really just tired right. So Nadir explains why this time is different. When Storm became Eternity's host, her fate became entangled with the universe itself. And the universe has been dying ever since she tore eternity out of her body. The oblivion void. The void that existed before creation itself is consuming the realm of death. And when it finishes, all that will be left is death and the void like it was before anything ever existed. And it's not just one universe.
It is the entire multiverse cluster. And Storm kind of breaks a little bit here, but not in a way that feels weak. In a way that she feels like a person reaching the limit of what anyone can actually carry. She's like, I'm hearing my dead mother's voice. I am seeing her face, and that voice is telling me about the universe, not what I want to hear.
This is the most that you've spoken to me in ages, and it is about this. But before we get to the continuation of that conversation, we got to show you what's been going on here with Dr. Voodoo. The first place that we go to here is Aun. Actually, I think it's pronounced Aun. And this here is the spirit realm of Yoruba, which is one of the most significant religious traditions here in West Africa and in the African diaspora. Now, the Orishas are the deities here of this tradition, and this is their home. And Dr. Voodoo is here for one reason and one reason only. Since Dr. Voodoo here was kidnapped by Mistress Death and forced to be her Avatar. His mission is to come to Orun and harvest the souls of the Orishas for Mistress Death's army. And the way that he's doing this here is absolutely wild. He's taking the bodies here of discarded X-Men, or as they're called here, the dead X-Men. The first god that we see them kill here is Arinlay, who is the Orisha here for rivers, healing, and medicine. Then we see them take out next, by the way, with more dead X-Men, Oun, who was the war god of metal. And the battle that we see here is massive, by the way. It's kind of weird, but also kind of funny at the same time, seeing a dead Magneto going up, of course, against a god of metal.
Like Dr. Voodoo 100% play this out very well. But the issue with this here for Dr. Voodoo is that he basically sets off an alarm that nobody really wanted to set off because it's mentioned here how the orishas are wardens to their father and how their father was banished to his realm and he has basically been sleeping within this atmosphere here for ages and their father is an elder god of many titles many mysteries who as they say would demand bloody retribution for the slaughter of his children so with that now now Dr. Voodoo as awakened Oladun the supreme here the creator god the highest being in the yoruba cosmology and instead here of running Dr. Voodoo doubles down. He turns to his ally Ilana who is working with him on Mistress Death's mission here and says to summon the immortal wreckers. And then what we see here is three portals, three beings.
The first one here is No, the symbiote god. We then see the first storm god here, Hadad. And then we also see Gore, the god Butcher. And the goal here by them is to kill Olaron so that they can recruit his wraith into their army.
Well, specifically Mistress Death's army. So, Death wants to collect that energy and add it to her army, which is basically like strapping a nuclear warhead to a force that's already trying to end everything. And these dead gods that he just brought back here are just like, "All right, death to life, death to all gods, death to our universe." So, then we go back to that part again where Nadair was like oblivion. I know this is repeated. Oblivion made death a part of it. That seed now germinates and spreads across our entire multiverse cluster.
Very quickly, all that will be left is the realm of death and the oblivion void like it was in the very beginning before creation. It will be the entire multiverse cluster. That is what is dying this time. And what Dr. Voodoo is doing is setting all of that as well in motion. And that's what Nadair continues on. She's like, "There's no stopping the war that's killing our multiverse cluster. There's no stopping the betrayals that's coming our way." And what we see here is Scarlet Witch where it looks like she potentially might have been the one that killed the mutant. Who knows? Then we get this picture or image again here where we see Galacta. And as Nadir's narration continues, she's like, "There's no stopping the secret machinations of your enemies." which is of course then we receive Akujin and her peoples doing what they said they were going to do here from the very last issue which is go to Toddus here in the underworld and then Nadir's last words are this you will only survive this by giving up on everything that you hold dear Auroro all right so that's it I hope that this made sense to y'all because reading it I can see 100% how this could get very confusing if you have any questions leave it down below in the comments also don't forget to leave a like here on this video for the YouTube algorithm Subscribe if you're brand new to the channel.
