First-Time Mom VLOG | My WIC Breastfeeding Appointment + Self Care
Added:I [music] made madiga [music] [singing] [music] and omega bitch.
[music] >> Y this is cute.
[music] >> Hey y'all. Welcome back to my channel.
It's your girl Danielle. Before we get started, hit that like button, subscribe, and let's get right into the video.
>> [music] >> So, what's up you guys? Today is Monday and it's my day off. Praise the Lord. I am actually about to go to my wick appointment and I want to take you guys along with me. So, you guys are going to come with me to my wick appointment.
This uh appointment is the breastfeeding appointment. I really don't know what they're going to be talking about there for this appointment, but my appointment is at 1:30. It's 12:50. So, we about to head out. I might go get my nails done after because I really want my nails done. But I would get something to eat in between cuz I'm hungry too. So yeah, we just about to head out. Let me get all my stuff together and y'all can come with.
So this is kind of like my wick appointment vlog. Yeah, I'll see you guys at the wick appointment office when I get there. Okay y'all, I just made it to the wig office and I'm about to go in there right now.
It is super hot in Kansas City. I cannot believe it.
>> [music] [music] >> pocket.
Okay. So, I just made it into the W office and I'm waiting on my appointment. So, I will tell y'all how it goes and what we talk about and just give you a little recap when I'm done.
>> However, we see with breast milk has more things in it that I maintain my milk supply.
Okay, >> our bodies can make the milk, but we have to do the work in maintaining the supply to help keep it going. Get breast milk. They have the reduced risk of constipation, constipation, uh diarrhea, collicky behaviors, okay, asthma, allergies, ear infections, and colds. Um childhood cancer. So the pink block there under the antibodies block.
Uh we've discovered hamlet cells in the breast. Those cells are in there to help from the uh cells in the body from becoming cancerous in the body. Okay?
And these are things that become a one.
So I'm going give you a few seconds here to look over the bolded parts and I those cans of corn that's added on there.
>> Okay.
>> Then the bottom row, the red row says breastfeeding or package where we're giving you the max can of formula we can give you each month. Boos for you stop after six months. Again, less food there, but that stops after 6 months.
And then again, less food for baby at 6 months, but you're getting a max appointment that we can give you each month.
>> Okay.
>> Okay. Flip that over on the back side.
Your baby girl will be considered a child on the program when she turns one and can stay on through 5 years old. So the first covered is from age one to two. Okay.
>> Okay.
>> Now you're not locked into one category.
>> Okay. So you're not locked into one way.
>> Okay.
>> Okay. Any questions on that?
>> Uh no, not so far.
>> All right. Let's take a quick look at this handout. Then to start building antibodies to whatever strand of virus it is that you were exposed to. then it naturally will put those same antibodies in [music] the breast milk to now give baby that protection from that strand of virus. [music] So it's almost like giving your baby girl her first like a vaccine or you know some [music] protection to that to where she doesn't catch it as bad as you are [singing and music] going through it or sometimes not as off not at all there was times I had the flu I got the fevers chills and all the things and my baby was chilling like [music] dang mama >> [laughter] >> Right.
>> Yeah.
>> Like, but they were chilling because they didn't catch it as bad. Maybe a quick little sniffle and it [music] wasn't as long >> or they didn't catch it at all.
>> Right.
>> Because I was giving them the antibodies. So, they're already getting the immunity to that strand of virus.
Okay. Vice versa, let's say baby girl is at daycare and she catches something from the daycare. You're fine, but she's sick. Okay. When we go to breastfeed, if you notice the little bumps around your areola on your nipples, those are called your Montgomery glands, [music] okay?
They have several jobs, but one of them is they act as receptors. [music] They pick up information from the baby's saliva. When she physically [music] t attaches to the breast, her saliva has information and it tells our body what's going on inside of her. So then we get the signal, oh, baby is coming down with a cold. And immediately our body kicks in to start building [music] a antibodies to help fight that off and put that in the breast milk. So we are giving her medicine to help fight that off. Um so she doesn't again get sick as bad or as long or you know recovers easily and that's our body's doing the work for her cuz her immune system is still growing right. Mhm.
>> So we can give her those antibodies to the breast class one and then they'll give you um for class two. [music] Today in class one we just chitchat a little bit about breastfeeding kind of start wrapping your mind around it what it looks like, what it could look like for you. My job is to give you an informed or give you the information to about breastfeeding to help you make an informed choice, >> okay, >> of what you want to do, right? So ultimately I want you to uh feel comfortable and confident in how you want to feed your baby. Okay.
>> Class two when we come back for that that's where we get into how to breastfeed. So we talk about the positions and latching and more about pumping and things like that.
>> Okay y'all. So I just came from my week appointment. I'm about to go get me something to eat and get my nails done maybe. I don't know. The appointment was long. It was like an hour almost. So yeah, basically I'll just talk with the lady and she gave me some breastfeeding like information.
Um, that's my first class. The next one I'm going to have another class. They're actually going to teach me how to hold the baby with the doll and the breast and we'll talk about breast pumps and insurance. Um, so I just learned, you know, a lot of useful information that I did not know at first. Um, so yeah, it was like a little class session type thing at my breastfeeding wick appointment. So I think that was very helpful and useful.
I also got a lot of paperwork and stuff like that in that little red folder I showed y'all. So I make sure I read over that, study that. Um, you know, so yeah, that's what I'm going to do today when I go back home. It is super hot outside. But like I don't know, maybe after I eat I'll feel a little bit better cuz I really don't have no energy to even go get my nails done. I probably look tired a little bit which is crazy because before I went to my appointment I literally just had woke up from my nap. But I know that the baby is probably growing like super rapidly. So I just been getting tired within like two or three hours.
Like the other day I went to sleep early. Took a long nap. I woke up I was still tired. So yeah, um [music] about to get my food.
I'm going to get Chick-fil-A. I I ain't even going to lie, y'all. I I usually get like a combo. The combo haven't been enough. I still been hungry after I'm done with the combo, which is crazy.
That don't even make sense. So, I might give me a little extra.
So, yeah, after I get my food, we can eat together or something. So, yeah, y'all.
Okay, y'all. So, I got my food.
I was kind of eating while I was driving. So, yeah. Let me show y'all what I got.
Sorry that the air is loud, but it's super hot and I cannot turn it off.
Okay.
Ooh.
So, I got some mac and cheese, a large fry, the pineapple, dragon fruit, Sunjoy, honey mustard, and a spicy deluxe sandwich.
Oo, I'm so glad I'm not driving no more.
I'm about to enjoy this for a little bit. Then I'm about to go into the nail salon.
[music] [music] [music] >> [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] >> by [music] [music] [music] make it Okay y'all, I'm at the nail salon for real for real. I don't know if y'all can see it, but it's kind of like down that way.
So, yeah. I'mma show y'all my nails once I get done.
This is a before.
>> Really ugly. Okay.
Now I'mma show y'all the after.
You and me [music] of our lives.
[music] around it now for the land to the state.
This one new color too.
>> Okay.
The whole construction over there is only made which is clay.
>> We got a new color we buy yesterday.
You can see this is >> okay.
Yeah, she did a good job.
Like, like, like.
Okay, y'all. So, I just got home and I am super exhausted.
Like, for real.
Oh, shoot. I should have grabbed the iPad before I sat there. Yeah, super exhausted. Yeah, super hot outside.
Don't make any sense. I finished getting my nails done. They look really cute.
The lady gave me a nice little hand massage.
Feel spectacular.
But yeah, don't plan on going back outside until summer's over because baby, it's too hot out there.
But yeah, like I was telling you, I went to my little wig appointment.
Got my wig folder.
I got my food. And I'm really just about to chill and edit this video.
Yeah, y'all. Well, I had to go back to work. Um, let me give you a little pregnancy update. Yeah, yesterday I turned 27 weeks pregnant. So, that means next week I will actually be seven months pregnant.
So, that is amazing. Like I said, [snorts] I just can't wait for being pregnant to be over cuz being pregnant is exhausting. It's really too much. I [snorts] wish God made the men carry the babies.
Maybe then they would appreciate women a little bit more. Um, but yeah, tonight I might try to clean up my house to get it ready for the week. I did my [music] laundry this morning, so I'm gonna fold my laundry.
But I do need to like clean everything and that will be a good thing to do because [music] when I be getting home from work or the week, I just be super tired and just come home and go to sleep for like 3 or 4 hours, which is crazy. [snorts] So, [sighs] I'm going to try to clean up. If I clean, I'll do like a cleaning vlog, a pregnancy cleaning vlog. Um, other than that, yeah, everything's going good.
>> [snorts] >> The baby is definitely getting bigger because the baby just be moving all day in my stomach and I could feel it like wiggling around. [snorts] Um, so yeah, next week is my 28 week ultrasound. So I'll take you guys with me for that. I forget which day it's on.
I think it's in the beginning of the week though. So look forward to that.
And hopefully they give me another 3D little picture so you guys can see the baby's face and stuff like that. And yeah, everything's going good. Once I get those um registry gifts in from Amazon, I will do another I think it's like part three of my registry unboxing. So yeah.
Also, Amazon has sent me their little I keep forgetting about it. Let me show y'all.
It's this little package that comes with when you have a baby registry on Amazon, they send you their little package. So, it's right there. I'm going to make sure I open that for y'all, show you what's in it. [sighs] Um, but other than that, yeah, like I said, I can't wait to be not pregnant because I could lose this weight cuz being this fat and this big is crazy. I never weighed this much in my life. I weigh like 170.
I never weigh 170.
I never weigh past 160.
My normal weight is like from 140 to 150. So, I definitely be like out of breath and stuff, y'all. So, so yeah. But that's just a little update for you guys. This was my little week appointment, my little maintenance blog.
Um, as y'all can see, my stomach is getting huge, but not for real. Not for real. So, yeah. Um, I love you guys. Thank y'all so much for all of the support and everything y'all been doing for the baby. I appreciate y'all. Sorry I've been absent the last few days. I've been just, like I said, exhausted and resting.
So once I get my energy back, I will be back uploading every day and regularly.
So yeah, I love y'all. God bless you and I'll see you in the next video.
Bye.
