Spider-Noir 1x1 REACTION!! "Step Into My Office"Added:
Hey guys, Coral Blindwave. I'm Eric.
Rick.
>> I'm Jan.
>> I'm Aaron. And this is Spider Noir.
Guys, they did Nick Cage Spider Noir. We get to watch it today.
>> Yeah, we do. Man, >> does anyone need a hat?
>> In black and white.
>> In black and white. That's like my newer one, but it had a lot more sun.
>> Yeah, it's fit you.
>> It's a Will it fit me? I don't think I have a sh the head shape for it.
>> No.
>> Yeah. I don't know. They uh you know they say fashion like comes to circles, but men being like in hats like this by default never came back. I feel like >> neither did the capes.
>> What do you mean? We we just got to do it. That's it. I'm going to start wearing this from now on.
>> Well, hey, I'm excited. We get a Nick Cage TV show and it just so happens has something to do with Spider-Man.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. I'm excited. It's uh we had Spider Noir in the uh the Miles Across the Spider-Verse uh yeah movies and stuff like that too. And I was like, "Oh, that's Nick Cage. That's cool. I like that." And then we saw the trailer for this and I'm like that I want to see what he does and what this is going to be like cuz even him in the trailer seemed unique.
>> Yep. As he is, as he should be.
>> So, I'm excited for this.
>> As it should be. Uh guys, also we're going to be getting these up uh as quickly as we can, but they're going to be coming out every day. Um there's like four this week, four next week. So we'll have one up today and one up tomorrow and one up the next day. But we'll have them up as soon as we can over at the website. So if you're wanting a little bit faster, uh if you're on Beyond, you can get it right. Well, whoa.
>> As soon as we have them up. Maybe not right right now, but maybe we're trying to get them done quickly. So >> while you're there, we got some other Nick Cage reactions as well. Willies Wonderland.
Uh, >> watch.
>> I think we watched Wicker Man, but I don't fully remember all that.
>> We watched Face Off.
>> We did watch Face Off. I remember that one. Yeah. So, some fun Nick Cage stuff.
So, >> but now we get some Spider-Man or Spider Noir.
>> Let's do it.
>> So, let's get started.
>> Someone once asked me what universe this was.
Strange question that stuck with me all these years later. Am I an extraordinary man?
>> Yes.
>> Yes.
>> Am I an ordinary man?
>> Yes.
>> I'm neither. But aren't we all?
>> You.
>> And I fell in love in this city.
>> Mistake I'll never make again.
>> I used to be the spider. This city's hero. Always on guard, always ready to swoop in and save the day.
>> That was sweet.
>> Ruby once told me that with great power comes great responsibility.
>> Every Spider-Man has one of those.
>> Mhm.
>> Oh, she was the greatest responsibility I ever had.
>> You ready?
>> Excuse me, sir. Sir, >> you have you got to keep that, man.
>> It won't end the way you want it to.
>> It never does.
>> And the cars are rolling by at like 3 m an hour.
>> So, I love the shadows USING >> OH, WHY WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? It's getting late and it smells like [ __ ] back here.
>> I tried to warn you.
>> What?
>> Oh. Oh.
>> Oh, not here.
>> In the oil place.
>> Burn it clothes off. Dude, you should start shooting.
>> Now you run.
>> Uhoh. Now you run. Uhoh.
>> Oh my god.
Jeez, >> this [ __ ] guy investigator >> this goddamn city.
>> Are you open? No.
>> Yes.
>> It's about my wife.
>> That's his wife.
>> He's judging hard.
>> You a rich man, Mr. Cardy?
No, not particularly. Possessed of a keen wit then, huh?
>> Explosion. Extended oil. Read all about it. Explosion extended oil.
>> Breakfast 25 cents.
>> Just the more you pull back the camera, the more work you have to do.
>> The city's a mess. Ever since the spider disappeared, Silver Mains got this city by the throat. Now the people, the people could use a hero.
>> Well, I hope they find someone.
>> You used to be.
>> I know who I used to be.
>> So, this guy knows.
>> Yes, >> there's always going to be another Silverman, Robbie.
>> Oh, no point in fighting it.
>> Like Robbie. Robbie, >> I can't help but wonder what Ruby would think if she heard you talking like that.
Damn. I thought she died.
Oh, >> damn. My buoyancy.
>> I wonder what happened.
>> He's been dead a long time.
>> Hey, it's Silver Main. Really?
>> I don't think it was the C. I think it was the day.
>> Evening, sir. How can I help you?
>> I got a delivery for Boris Carlon.
All right. Don't bother. I'll see myself out >> to the penthouse. Well, how will he get there?
>> All right.
>> Oh, I thought it was a hub.
>> Hub?
>> A hub? I was joking.
>> Yeah, he's not going to do it. He's not that guy anymore.
>> How old is Nick Cage now?
>> He's in his 60s.
>> He's in his 60s, right?
>> What the hell?
>> That guy likes >> stamps.
What the hell?
>> Mail himself to England.
>> Get off of me.
>> Come here.
>> Oh, what the hell?
>> He did the thing.
Does he have organic web shooters?
>> I would have to assume.
>> Yeah.
must be like, "Ah, I'm running way down there." You're like, "What would you think?"
>> Yeah. I don't know.
>> Morning, Winston. Car for a cup of coffee or maybe some tea or you just want to order both and see which one comes first.
>> Save your breath, Riley.
>> The other PI you hired told me you offered him 50. So, I'm not telling you for a penny less than 200.
>> But give me one good reason I shouldn't plug you.
>> How about 38 reasons?
>> It's actually a 32, but I doubt your organs will know the difference. Now, a guy like you in a suit like that, you didn't cook this up on your own. So, why don't you go back to whoever it is that sent you and find me $200, and then I'll tell you where Addison is, and I'll keep the 30 as a tip.
Janet will keep the 30 as a tip.
>> The other guy going to follow him?
>> Probably.
Say, could you be sober by 9:00 a.m.
tomorrow, right?
>> He's here early.
>> And if you get 200, you can definitely pay him his 50 or whatever. And >> Mhm.
>> the burned down mansion, huh?
>> So remains.
>> Did Roy tell you where Addison is?
>> Shake down. He won't tell me where Addison is unless he gets more cash.
>> Pay him whatever he wants. Do whatever it takes.
>> Fine, Addison.
>> How'd that go?
>> Dead end. How about this?
>> Um, interesting. You got some great shots.
>> Can't you tell?
>> I couldn't resist.
>> I do have one question, though. Am I crazy or is that the goddamn mayor of New York?
>> Oh, is that who it is?
>> Say, does this look like a guy who died in a fire to you?
No, but he sure as hell did. I was there. They yet.
>> James Addison.
>> [ __ ] Do me a favor. Hold off on printing then. I want to warn a friend before he gets himself killed.
>> What? It's just a migraine.
>> Is his spider sense like detective punches?
>> Yeah, I don't know. What's it telling him?
>> Damn it, Don. Where the hell are you?
>> Wake him up.
That >> ain't going to be so easy. He's dead.
He >> isn't so faking it.
>> Do you know I shot him dead? He had some kind of crazy powers. He burst into flames. What about the name of the man who hired Addison to kill me?
>> I don't know.
>> Fair enough.
>> Damn.
>> Is there somewhere we can talk?
>> Here suits me.
>> It's business. It concerns your trip to the Red Cliff last night.
>> Flint.
>> I'm trying to help you. I >> Mr. Riley, I'd like you to meet my friend Flint Marco. He's >> a gorilla. Do you mind?
>> Got some change for hungry orphan boy.
>> I got a tail. White suit.
>> Sure do, mister. Thanks.
>> White suit.
>> Who's in a white suit?
>> Uh, flint.
>> Let's flint in the white suit.
>> Yeah, >> I know. A terrific hamburger joint. Open all night. Let's sit. Talk it over.
So, you're not hungry? How about a drink?
>> Last chance.
Opium.
>> The negatives. I drop you.
>> Well, the thing is I'm not really scared of heights.
Even the action is shot like the whole black and white movie with the big reaction shots.
>> Yeah, he's powered too.
>> Marco Polo, you know how I feel about that game.
The werewolf is gone.
>> Whoa.
Is he like >> It's like a sand.
>> Sandman.
>> Yeah.
I guess. Okay.
>> Flint Marco is >> Clint Marco.
>> Usually Sandman.
>> Yeah. I just wasn't thinking about it without a striped shirt.
>> Yahoo.
>> Now look away.
>> Nick Cage is Spider-Man.
Oh, he's a spider.
Oh jeez. He's also out of practice.
Yeah, a little rusty.
What happened?
>> What the hell is this?
>> Just leave us alone, please.
>> But you guys followed him.
>> You're the negatives on the house.
>> Damn. Quit giving away all your money.
>> I can't believe you did the negatives and for free.
Cat Hardy.
Meet my secretary, Janet Ruie.
>> Ex- secretary, I just quit.
>> Shame. I came here to offer him a job.
My friend Flint, the one you met last night, he's disappeared.
>> $50 retainer up front. Then it's 10 a day plus expenses.
50 bucks a day.
You don't want to see this, right? I don't think so. I don't want to see it.
I'll see it.
>> I hope there's nothing else after that, but we paused it so we don't see it.
>> It's interesting watching Nick Cage be the spider.
>> I just >> Ben Riley >> and Nick Cage and Noir. Yeah, >> it almost has like a parody feel to me that it's a 60-year-old Nick Cage as a Spider-Man, but I also love it. I don't know why.
>> Oh, he's Spider Sense and it's like his detective hunch.
>> So, he has organic webbing.
>> Yep.
>> Yep. Spider sense.
>> And the spider sense.
>> He can climb on walls. I don't know how long he was the spider, just that he was the spider and now he's five years off.
>> Yep.
>> Yeah. Which means he stopped being Spider-Man, you know, in his 50s. If if he is meant to be 60 here, maybe he's meant to be 50, >> which seems like a reasonable way to stop being a superhero.
>> Yeah. Like like like Gaddy saying, you're retired. You're done. You're not doing this anymore, you know? Especially like what year are we in? What year?
>> I don't know. You know, >> the Great Depression.
>> Yeah. So feel like if it was 3 years old the story wouldn't have changed much.
You know >> the closest I can think of to find is they showed Ruby's grave and we know that that was 5 years ago. So if we are able to see the dates on her headstone.
>> That's right.
>> Damn it. It's dark.
>> 1890 to I can try to just let it play and we just catch it quick.
>> Yeah. Back it up. And >> uh 1890. Yeah.
>> Well, that's when she was born >> to May something.
>> Okay. So, how old do we think she might have been?
>> I don't know cuz they paired her up with Nick Cage. They You don't want her to be >> She looked like she was in her 30s.
>> I would say 35.
>> Maybe it shows it again in a different angle.
>> I don't know how how old he supposed to read.
>> Maybe it's supposed to be like a little ambiguous.
>> Yeah, >> they don't they don't show that date.
>> No more than 50 years later.
>> Right.
>> Right. Like that's like the max it could be. I feel like >> I would say >> sure.
>> So I don't know.
>> I mean that puts it in the 40s, right?
>> 40s would be a little late for our depression. But >> they didn't say the depression was happening. The Great Depression, right?
>> Yeah.
>> Well, they said they're in a depression.
>> In the depression.
>> I mean, they wouldn't call it >> they wouldn't call it the Great Depression in the Great Depression. They didn't call it World War I when it was World War I.
>> Yeah. No, because if you did then you're like but that implies there's a second war.
>> Yeah, they could they just called it the Great War.
>> Yeah, the Great War.
>> There's been a few things like I whenever I saw I heard Flint Mark I was like oh Flint Marco okay interesting but I was like I'm not going to say anything just yet cuz someone might not remember anything.
>> I remember once you've been like yeah Sandman Flint Marco. Oh yeah. But I just in passing here I was like okay Flint Marco didn't even bring a bell to Sandman.
>> Yeah you were like where's his striped green shirt?
I think it's more >> guy wasn't on wings.
>> But there's a few things like that I'll wait and stuff to see. But there's every once in a while they mention something like I wonder, you know, >> there's a couple of names >> cuz sometimes it might just be it might just be a shift because of a different universe. So it might not be exactly the same or it might be a nod to whatever.
>> This font on this gravestone is crazy.
By the way, they had to shoot it that way for black and white cuz gravestones never have raised lettering like that cuz raised lettering gets eroded much quicker >> than recessed lettering.
>> Well, that's why it also has the little, you know, like it it covers the rain a little bit. That's why it's kind of in there, you know, >> like an arabesque.
>> But it makes the shadows look cool, >> you know.
>> Yeah. Well, they need the shadows to highlight the >> Yeah, I think the shadows in this have been so fun, >> especially in the black and white sense.
I wonder if it still feels that way in the color look.
>> I had heard that they filmed it planning for color or for black and white, but then it was like, "Oh, well, we should have a color version for people who don't want to watch Black and White."
>> There was nothing in there, at least so far, that I was like, "Oo, I wonder what that looks like in color." Other than maybe, I suppose, just the opening with with all of the Spider Noir stuff. When we were getting that in the opening, I was like, damn. Okay. Is this going to go this hard? It's a television show.
You can't do this all the time. It'll be too expensive. And >> sure, >> they had to slow it down.
>> Cuz like even him like I like the little window. It makes me think of a comic book kind of thing when they showed the window like panels of like memories and stuff, but then there's like the CGI spider climbing up the wall, but they just have like his legs a little bit.
Like they kind of like get him out of there real quick.
>> I'm like, okay.
>> And you're supposed to be paying attention to the windows and the memories more.
>> It it covers it enough where I'm like, okay, I get what's going on here. And then there's just a dude walking on the on the top. You know, >> I been >> I felt like that opening theme too had the Toby Maguire elite motif from from the Rambami Spider-Man, too.
>> Yeah. Had the theme song. It had like a >> which I imagined from that so much, but I mean it could just be similar, but >> I mean, man, it feels very intentional to me.
>> Really? Yeah.
>> I wonder why you would use that one though.
>> I don't know either.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> I didn't pick it up in the You're talking about in the in the song itself, like the intro song.
>> Yeah. There's two or three times where I felt like I heard those four notes.
>> Okay. cuz you mentioned I thought you me mentioned it uh during the episode but I didn't I'll have to listen to it next time and see if it's >> maybe I'm just >> it's just very similar or I'm just wrong. I don't know Spider-Man.
>> It feels like it's it's it's hitting it but again I don't know why it would hit that way for that iteration of the character but I guess I don't know if they didn't use that in the Spiderverse did that I don't think.
No, when like Noir made an appearance to me.
>> Yeah.
>> I mean, they would have rights to it.
So, >> cuz it's Sony.
>> I wonder what the story is with like the the mayor and cat and stuff.
>> Mhm.
>> And why there's seemingly so many powered people around.
>> It seems like the mobster wants to watch them >> happening also.
>> So, remain whatever.
>> They're in hiding. Not just because like the law, but like like I feel like they're not doing anything massively illegal to be worried about the law, but it definitely seem seems like Silver Main is like after them.
>> Mhm.
>> Yeah.
>> Wants to become superpowered, too.
Maybe.
>> Bren Gleon, man.
>> Then he was also curious too about who sent Addison after him.
Maybe there's someone who's like making powered people and sending them after Silverman or maybe there's someone who's collecting powered people as well and that's who's taking Flint or >> I don't know.
>> I'm worried it's the journalist Robbie.
>> Yeah.
>> Like he's talking about how bad everything is and like how someone needs to be a hero.
>> So he's trying to find heroes to like >> he's trying to make a hero.
>> Yeah.
>> Robbie seems to know that he was the spider.
>> I don't think Janet does.
>> I don't know. 2016, >> but I didn't know if that was more of like a private eye thing or >> that might just be him like explaining like, "How did you figure that out?" I was like, "Oh, I I just had a hunch."
Called it six sense.
>> Kind of a six sense.
>> Yeah.
>> Their relationship reminds me in the Yakuza series, there's a dude who has a secretary and their relationship is very similar. I I love this scene where it was like uh what was it? I'm trying to remember how he worded it, but was like, "I want $200." And it's like, "Oh yeah, how about this? How about 30 or whatever?" And he's like, "How about 38?" Actually, it's 32. Like I just like that little scene of it all.
That was fun. I was expecting Janet to behind him with a gun.
>> Yeah.
>> I liked uh Cat in the Club, you know? I I don't have a whole lot of experience with no movies, but I've seen Roger Rabbit and I've seen The Mask, and that's a have have taught me what I should be looking for. Yeah, pretty well.
>> Seen that's funny.
>> I get what you mean though.
>> Yeah, those work.
>> Mhm.
>> Seen Roger Rabbit and a bunch of other ones. I haven't seen >> You haven't seen the mask, right?
>> I kept thinking about how that thing that she was wearing like if she fell, you know, just >> Why do you always think about if people fell?
>> I don't know, man. Why don't you think I've been trained to be like what if they fell?
>> Why do you think it would go into her head? Why wouldn't it just stick through the floor?
>> It could just stick through the floor. I don't know. And then she tries to take it off and it's just like stuck in the floor.
>> Oh no.
>> Why would she have a soft skull?
>> People get soft skulls all the time.
>> Be worried about her.
>> Get soft skulls.
>> That's her superpower.
>> Is that a disease?
>> She worried about her tripping into the audience.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. She came walking forward, falling in a cage, gouges his eyes out.
>> Seems dangerous.
>> All right. I'm So far I'm I'm I'm having fun with it. I'm just curious to see where it goes and where >> I don't know. I I guess I'll see as it goes on more. Like I want to see more of like the spider aspects. Like seeing Nick Cage swing around that like building is >> Yeah.
>> Well, it's so so crazy. That's what we're getting.
>> Had a pretty reserved in the cage until Opium made an appearance.
>> Opium.
>> Yep.
>> Opium was a little okay. A >> little pushy there.
>> Opium.
>> I hope his leash is cut. I want it to be cut. I want him to be off leash.
>> I need quips while fighting.
>> The uh the trailer had a couple moments that felt Nick Ky that was like, "That's a weird Spider-Man, you know."
>> Well, hey, I mean, the TV show >> different than we've ever seen before.
>> Gared by everything they want, you know, first episode.
>> Sure.
>> Yeah.
>> We had a pretty graphic throat cutting in this, too, for like Spider-Man >> medium. Like I can't think of anything that violent in a Spider-Man thing that I've seen offh hand.
>> I mean just showing smoking raises up the rating and you can't really show it to kids.
>> Yeah, >> the glider >> that was fairly graphic.
>> It wasn't as bloody.
>> Not Yeah. I mean, you know what happens, but it doesn't really show it so much.
>> See the knives like start to go in, right?
>> Um I think you see them from the other side of the wall or something like that.
>> Yeah, you see it from the other side of the wall. It's definitely one of those things where like a sensor is going to be like take out these extended shots, but if it's brief, it's okay. But like that was right in your face that >> Yeah.
>> You think because it's in black and white is different? Because also I know I mean maybe the color one. I don't know. But >> what was it like with video games where it's like, oh no, no, no. When it's green blood, it's okay, but if it's red blood you get a nip. You know, like stuff like that.
>> Like Mortal Kombat had a thing where it's like >> watch Kill Bill.
>> We can have blood, but it's going to be like a green blood that comes out. Yeah.
>> Or you have no butt.
So, I don't know. Kill B. Never seen it.
>> We do.
>> I'm sorry. You never seen the mask. Same thing.
>> Okay. I'm not acting like that.
>> I don't know.
>> All right.
>> I'll watch all the things.
>> Well, speaking of all the things, we still have more Spider Noir.
>> Those are things.
>> There's four more. There's four that came out this week, four more next week.
