I Blind Bought 5 Popular Feminine Perfumes... So WTH Happened?!Added:
These two babes right here, they're going to have to hustle for their spot.
>> Are y'all blind buyers? Do y'all blind buy? Is this something that you do frequently? Um, well, in today's video, I'm going to be sharing five feminine fragrances that I got from Joop. They had a sale recently. So, I picked up these fragrances. I've never smelled them before. And I guess like I had to think about it and I am a blind buyer, but for me, y'all know I research my fragrances based off the notes and the vibes that I think it's going to give.
So, when I thought about it, I was like, I technically am a blind buyer, but I think it's because I have like more hits than misses normally. It's just kind of like normal for me and it's not a huge deal because I know there's like a thing about um blind buying. But yeah, so today we are going to get into these fragrances that I blind bought.
Forgive me y'all. I let the patio open and there is a gnat in here that's flying around. Get out of here. Let's get into it. For all of my subbies, welcome back. And for anyone new, welcome. My name is Kia and over here you are never fully dressed without a fragrance. We talk about fragrance, fashion, lifestyle, and just overall like womanhood and being the best version of yourself that you can be. And first off, I want to tell y'all what my fragrance of the day is. Not new, but tried and true in my collection from the house of Doutique. This is O Rose. This is a beautiful classic smelling rose with like a fresh modern take because it has like a luchy note, some artichoke.
It has a very powdery, watery, rosy quality, but it's also has like a slight sweetness to it. I think there's a little bit of pepper in here and then it's kind of soothing because it has a chamomile note. So, this is a very like it's a classic straightforward, but then in its own ways, it has some nuances and some uniqueness. So, I absolutely love this house and this fragrance. If you are a rose lover, you will probably appreciate this one. So, this is U Rose from the House of Dique. Let's talk about Ancom from Latafa. Now, this is such a hyped fragrance in the fragrance community because it's a Middle Eastern.
It's affordable and it is replicating one of the best designer fragrances I feel like has been released in the past few years, which is Burberry Goddess.
So, I'mma go ahead and say like y'all didn't lie about this one. Everyone always says that Ancom smells literally like Burberry Goddess is such a great dupe and I have to agree. This I would say probably smells 95% close to the original Burberry Goddess.
What I do notice is that Burberry Goddess has like something that has a little more depth into it and it does smell smoother to my nose. Like it smells like a little bit more refined.
But I personally feel like if I smelt these side by side, I would be able to distinguish them. But that is because I am in a deep and passionate love affair with Burberry Goddess. But for, you know, somebody who wants the smell profile and you want something that literally smells so absolutely close, it's just like a blink of an eye of a difference. I feel like this is such a good rendition of the fragrance. So yeah, y'all know I talk about Burberry got us down and y'all are always like, "Oh, when I recommend a layering combination, y'all are like, "Oh yeah, I tried it with Enum. It smells so good.
It smells so good." Or a kid, you got to try anum. You got to try anum. It's such a, you know, good rendition. And I definitely 100% agree. So I'm acting a little bit crazy with the bottle of Burberry God that I have cuz I don't want to let it go cuz the juice in there is so good extremely. So, while I, you know, get my life and figure out what I'm going to do, I can, you know, spray this in the meantime because like this actually smells very close to the oil from Brown Sugar Babe, the Muse oil that they have, and that is not 100% spot-on, but it's pretty much there. This is more spot-on than that. Um, but yeah, I feel like you're not missing much if you have Anom versus Burberry Goddess. I just happen to love Burberry Goddess. But I'm going to give this its flowers.
Personally, I feel like it's worth the hype and I love it when things are hyped and they are actually worth the hype.
So, in my book, I would definitely say Angum is like a 10 out of 10. And I wore this back toback. I already got compliments. Burberry Goddess is one of my most highly complimented um fragrances in my collection. So, this it, you know, follows suit. It gives you the same effect. Another super iconic and hyped Middle Eastern fragrance from Alhara Main. We have Janoon Noir. And this is supposed to be the rendition of Dama Bianca from Zurgov. It's a beautiful I believe there's that kumquat note that makes it unique, some florals, um a sweetness and a powdery floralness that is in that fragrance cuz I believe there's like a purple floral, maybe a violet or something in here. Now, Janu Noir has been on my list of fragrances to buy for like over a year because what happened to me, y'all, is I never I be in my own world, okay? Like, I'm not on the socials and stuff like that. And I've always been very much off and on the socials, right? So, I didn't know about Middle Eastern fragrances being dupes. I was introduced to Middle Eastern fragrances when I took a trip to Zanzibar and we told the lady, "Oh my gosh, you smell so us. She took us to the market and I just brought home literally like six um Middle Eastern fragrances. That's when I found Kamra. I fell in love with Kamra. I literally have like three bottles of Kamra in my house. So, in the process of me like, you know, looking up notes and I put this in my cart on Amazon and then I saw a video about it and it was calling it a dupe and I was like, "Oh, like what is that? What does that mean?" Then I realized, oh, there's a whole market of like replicating fragrances. I did not know that. I just thought Middle Eastern was Middle Eastern. This was this, that was that. Cool. So then I had to go and smell the actual Daim Bianca from Zurg and then I, you know, got into Zurgjoff and then I bought Grandalo and I bought LRA and blah blah blah. Right. So Janoon Noir, it just kind of sat for a second for whatever reason, but now I finally have it. Now to me, this smells really good. I actually like this fragrance, but this has like more of a it has like it smells like something that's champagney or licory in here. Very much more like fruity sweet. It has a freshness to it. For me, from what I remember, I feel like Jamba Bianca is just a little bit more floral and powdery. Like this kind of gets powdery.
I really do like this still. Like I think this is super pretty. I can see this like being a favorite of mine, but I have to smell Damma Bianca again and then compare them because I'm not sure if this is going to tickle my fancy or satisfy my craving for Damma Bianca. Um, I don't know. I just have to see because this gives more of like a light fruity juicyness to me, like a cocktail of some sorts. It's really pretty. I like it. It smells very feminine. I get the florals.
I get the juiciness, but I get something in here that is slightly boozy that I really do like and I enjoy. It's just like to my nose and my memory. I'm not sure if this is hitting Dama Bianca 100% or really just giving that that powderiness that I thought it was going to give. Obviously, I can layer it, but I'm not the type of person that likes to depend on layering fragrances. I buy the fragrance and then I buy like my layering products to go with the fragrances, like not the other way around. But I like this one. I think this smells really, really good. It's pretty. I would definitely recommend it if you know you like a fruity type of feminine fragrance that has a light and juicy vibe to it. Um, I would definitely recommend it. A lot of people say it smells very close to Damma Bianca, but I have to go back and verify. But so far, I do like this fragrance and I would recommend. Also, thank you to everyone who has taken the quiz on my website, the octosong.com.
This is a fragrance archetypes and personality quiz that will help you identify what your fragrance personality is and it provides you the psychology behind what your archetype is. It gives you fragrance recommendations. So, it's really super fun and this is a tool used to kind of help identify your vibe and kind of help you shape how you want to build your collection so that you're building it in a fun and mindful way. I think the last time I checked about 20 people had taken the quiz. So, thank you all. Definitely make sure you are signed up for my email list and if you take the quiz, you will be added automatically to it. But also, this is something that I'm building out for us in our community so that we can have more fun things of beautiful space to, you know, have our fragrance vibes just grow and curate them in a very mindful but fun and unique way. So, I'm building this out more. So, you definitely want to be subscribed to my email list and other fun things are coming as well. But again, thank you to everyone who has already signed up. Definitely click the link and figure out what your fragrance personality is today. Next up, another rose fragrance. I am a rose lover, y'all. So, I like this house obvious perfumes. There is a fragrance that I am gatekeeping uh from this house, but come back later in the week. I might tell you what it is. But since I like that fragrance, I had to try this. And this is Un Rose. Now, this fragrance is so funny to me cuz I'm very like kind of confused a little bit. It's called Unrose, but if you look at the notes, the top notes is a full citrus suare.
And I don't really know what I was thinking when I bought it because I always look at the notes before I buy a fragrance. And all this citrus, I'm talking about it's like mandarin and tangerine and and like a Florida grapefruit. Like I should have known when I seen a floater a flow rider grapefruit that this was going to be a citrus suaree. Now citrus is not one of my best notes like when it's fresh and zingy and stuff like that. Like if it's mixed in and it's like a cute little sweet mandarin, you know, like the difference between eating a orange orange and like them little mandarin oranges that's in the cup that's in some sweet syrup, you know, I can get with that. But like the actual zest and the freshness, sometimes that is not the vibe. It just depends on like how it is blended. This did not lie. This actually smells how the notes say it was going to smell. It has this like citrus. It has this pepperiness. It has some rose in here. It's pretty. But I have it sprayed right here. It's actually really really pretty. This to me smells like if y'all have the sugar plum oil from Brown Sugar Bay, how it has like mandarin, nectarine, and it smells like fruity.
This kind of smells like that, but that has a juicy vibe. And this has that fruity uh zesty, but it has a more powdery vibe. And then it has like some floral from the rose and then that pepper in here. It does make it pretty.
Now, this is something that I can kind of like tolerate. And again, I I layered it, you know, with that. It is a great layering combination. I don't like to rely on layering. Um but it does smell good with that. This also did smell pretty good when I layered it with um Januir. So because these both kind of have like some fruits in here, some um zesty type of fruits. So it was cute because this is more sweet and it gave this a little bit more of a sweetness cuz this has a sweetness but it's more like powdery, fresh, rosy, and peppery.
It's different. I do like it, but I think it's like a interesting type of rose. Like we're starting to get into a different category. This is not even my type of rose that I usually gravitate towards. I usually gravitate towards a vanilla rose, a sensual rose, a classic rose, a powdery rose, or like a slightly juicy, maybe a rose with some fruits in it. Not zest though. This is giving, you know, very much zesty. Something about it though. I do like it because of the powderiness, but the way that it mixes with the fruits and the pepper and the flour. Something about it is giving me like a perfumey sweet tart type of vibe.
Like if y'all know like what the orange sweet tart um smells like that with like a a perfume, there goes that. I told you going somewhere that. Um but yes, that is what this smells like to me. It's kind of confusing a little bit. I'm not really sure. I like it, but I'm kind of like medium. I think this will be good for the summertime. A good freshy. Now, the combination I put together with it hits, but I do like to judge my perfumes on how they smell alone. And so, this one's in the middle. Like, I wouldn't say it's a miss, but I will have to use this and see how I feel about it to see if it would, you know, earn a spot fully in my collection. Cuz the way I am, I don't just collect things to just have it. I'm literally looking for fragrances that I love and that remind me of myself. And at the end of the day, that is what my fragrance collection is. So all of the fragrances that I buy, they're competing for a spot to stay because if I use it up, I wouldn't buy it again. But a lot of fragrances, I'm literally looking for the fragrance that I'm going to use up and I'm going to buy again because you are a part of my collection. Does that make sense? like it's not extensive, it's exclusive. So, she's going to have to, you know, do a little bit more. You're going to have to come forward. She's going to have to come to the front and, you know, show us what she's got. Um, and I think the summertime is a good time for her um to show that. So, she better be glad she was at it during this time of year. Um, but yeah, from the house of obvious parfones, I do like this house. Um, this is Unrose. Next up from one of my favorite houses, Narciso Rodriguez. This is Musk Nude for her. And yes, this one I absolutely love it. She is a part of my collection. I just thought I'm like I think I see a lot of people doing videos of like what what fragrances would I reby? Is it reby worthy? But me, I'm literally the opposite. It's like once I buy something, I already kind of have an idea of if it's a part of my collection or not. So, I'm going to let y'all know uh which ones of these that I can see, you know, staying and the ones that I think will go. But this is so beautiful, so feminine. It has the rose, it has the musk, it has the tonka, it has the pachuli. Like, I sprayed this like two times and it already has like a dent in it just to test it. Like when I say these Narciso sprayers be spraying like Oh yes. Like it has a sweetness. It has a powderiness. It has a floralness. It just smells like super pretty, super feminine, and it has like a sensual vibe to it. Now, I absolutely love the rose musir um by Narcisio Rodriguez and I definitely feel like that is a more like sensual, you know, like thicker date night, you know, statement making beast mode type of a fragrance, but this has that same type of quality, a sensual vanilla rose, but it's more lifted. This definitely gives more of a daytime vibe.
But you could wear it for date night, but just juxtaposing that one um in the line. That one gives very much, you know, brooding, vanilla, pachuli sensuality versus this one has like a wateriness in it. And this kind of has a freshness to it to me, too. I'm very surprised that no type of bergamont or nothing zesty, any mandarin something is listed in here. It's really pretty. It doesn't like bother me because again that's not one of my favorite notes, but something in here has like a watery quality and a freshness that I'm drawing from here. Intermingled with obviously that Narciso musk, the tonka, the florals and stuff like that. It's just like rose white florals and it's like vanilic but it has a fresh vibe to it.
So, this definitely gives like a flirty, sexy, sensual daytime type of vibe. I feel like this is really pretty. I feel like this is just a best all-around summertime pick because it has that brightness and that freshness so it's not too weighed down. But the tona, the pachuli, the florals, it just gives it this super like sexy femininity to where you could just wear this like all day in the summertime like to dates, to events, to brunch with your friends, to work, and really just like not miss a beat.
Cuz I still do think this is like appropriate to wear to work. I just feel like, you know, it is one of those sneaky sexy type of fragrances, which y'all know I love because it's flowers, it's powdery, it's rose, but that little puli is giving a little something, but it's not giving too much. So, I love a sneaky sexy fragrance. Y'all see I just sprayed this two times and now it's down again. Like, what is going on with Narciso? So, I'mma definitely be using this one up this summer. But yes, I absolutely um love this fragrance. It's just easy. It's just feminine. Um, definitely a vibe. I already have a fragrance combination with this as well.
So, come back later in the week. I'm going to give y'all the fragrance combinations uh to these fragrances and some other ones with my brown sugar babe oils because over here we are brown sugar babes. But yes, absolutely love it. Narciso Rodriguez must nude for her.
Y'all, I'm literally tripping off the dent. Did y'all see how the dent grew right before our eyes? This is crazy.
But I do enjoy this one. And finally, from the house of Givvoni, this is the irresistible connection, but this is the nude. I don't know if it's called nude blush or something like that, but the bottle is so pretty. It's pink. And I really wanted it to just be like this creamy floral type of vibe. It said it had some I think it's rose and some almond and like some tonker or something maybe. Like whatever is in here, I was like, "Yes, yes, and more." Yes. Sign me up. This looks like something that like I absolutely will love and enjoy. And I was hoping for more of a creamy, musky, like nutty type of floralally facet. Um, and now people say this smells lipsticky, and it definitely does. This smells like when you first spray it out, it has a kind of fruity smell to it, and I know the original DNA leads with a pear. I still do want to try those. Even though this is not exactly how I thought it would smell. It smells good. As it dries down, it gets better. But again, I'm a person that I want to like it from the front to the middle to the back, front to back, and in between. Like, this is how I like my fragrances to get down. Now, this is pretty. It definitely has this like lipsticky quality, like a makeupy type quality that people say, but overall, without calling it that, it just gives like a slightly creamy synthetic smelling fruit. It kind of gives cherry a little bit, and I think that's what it is. It kind of gives a mix between like maybe pear and cherry, but in like a creamy like syntheticish type of way. It's not bad. It's interesting. I can definitely see how it's like that acquired taste of like, "Oh my god, I just love the smell of this." Um, there's like supposed to be like a rice note in here. So, what I was looking for was something that was more nutty, floral, creamy. I was thinking that this would smell more along the lines of what is it called from Shag Offud Tonka. This is what I was hoping for like a florally type of vibe of a Shagoff Oud Tonka with maybe some more of that like florals played up and like a creaminess. This definitely smells creamy. It smells pretty. It smells feminine, but it gives like a old schoolish like makeup syntheticish type of vibe.
It dries down cuz I think it has like some cedar wood and stuff in there. And it gets like pretty powdery and sensual and I do like it. Um it's not bad, but it just doesn't smell as like floral and vanilla and nutty creamy that I wanted it to. But it definitely gives like a creaminess. This smells like um again a candy. It's like the Is there a cherry Laffy Taffy? I believe that there's like a cherry Laffy Taffy or those um cream candies. If there's a cherry version of it, that's what this smells like to me.
It smells like a cream cherry candy with like as it dries down it gets to be a little bit more powdery and sensual.
It's pretty, but I'm not sure. This is the front. It's pretty, but I'm not sure if I'm like 100% in love with it. It's not a love at first sniff, but I don't dislike it. It's kind of like interesting to me. Um, but it's not really like making me feel anything.
Now, I'll be honest with you. This obvious parfoms one, these are kind of on the same level, but something about this because it is rose and it has the florals. And even though it's citrus for, there's something about this one that I can see myself like growing to like it or starting to like it. Even though I say, "Oh my god, citrus." No.
For some reason, I can see like, you know, when people say their nose taste changed or scent matures or something like that. I don't think I have an immature scent palette, but I can see my nose developing a taste for this before it does for this. It has all the facets.
It's just not done in the way that I personally think I would have preferred.
Is it wearable? I've already been layering it and stuff like that. Yes, absolutely. But as a standalone, it doesn't wow me. Okay. Because it has that kind of creamy synthetic like the way it smells creamy. Like y'all know I love a creaminess and you can get that like opaque but airy vibe from something that is creamy. Like it kind of definitely smells how the bottle looks, but it's just not hitting the notes that I wanted to hit and pulling those to the forefront if that's what it makes sense.
The almond is pulling cherry but in a way that you know it just gives like this creamy candy old school synthetic type of vibe. And y'all know I'm not against like stuff that smells old school. I actually really do like it. I have quite a few fragrances that smell um old school. Um because, you know, I'm an old soul. What can I say? But this one in particular, it's not really doing it for me. Um it's pretty. If y'all have this one, let me know. But it's not a favorite of mine. I like the facets of how it smell, but the execution for me to like really just say, "Oh, this is great." It's not quite there for me.
Okay. So, which ones will I keep in my collection? definitely the Narcissiso musk nude. Like this is in and it's staying. And then I will also say both of my uh Middle Eastern picks. Um Encom is super pretty. A very like easy reach.
It smells pretty much identical to Burberry Goddess. I like the bottle. I like the bottle of Janu Noir as well. So this one gets to stay. I think it smells really pretty despite me needing to resmell Dama Bianca. And I don't feel like I'm a dupes snob when it comes to buying dupes, but I am kind of when it comes to the bottles like cuz sometimes they be doing too much with these bottles, but Encom is super cute. Little music notes. O to music straightforward.
That's pretty. It kind of, you know, mimics the shape of the Burberry Goddess bottle. And then I actually prefer the Janoon Noir bottle to the Zurg Dama Bianca bottle. Like I feel like this is just so pretty and stylish and I like to like make trays and stuff like that and style it. So, I actually prefer this bottle um to the original bottle because sometimes with these dupes, they start doing stuff that's a little bit like too gimmicky and then I'll be like, "No, I'm not being a part of that." So, honestly, what kind of determines if I'm going to, you know, be into a dupe or not is kind of the bottle. But, you know, these two make the cut because I think they're just like pretty and sleek. These two babes right here, they're going to have to hustle for their spot. I'm really just like not impressed off first with off first experience. I think they are both pretty and I don't think they're like bad fragrances. They're just like not giving exactly what I thought that they were going to give. Even though this one, this one smell exactly um like what it says it was going to smell like.
So, that's on me. Still a pretty fragrance. Very good to layer. Both of these are, but we'll just have to see if they make the long run for my collection right now. I would say these will get used up and then I would not repurchase them. So, there you have it, babes. Five new feminine fragrances that I've added to my collection. We've got some Middle Eastern, we've got some niche, we've got some designer, and yeah, all very fun.
Let me know. Do y'all have any of these?
Do you want to smell any of them? Are any of these like tried and true in your collection? Some that you maybe never have heard of and are intrigued by.
