Dyslexic individuals require significantly more exposures to concepts (up to 20 times) compared to neurotypical individuals (4-7 times) for learning to occur, so patience and reduced pressure are essential for effective learning.

Why do dyslexics forget so much?Added:
As a parent of a dyslexic, know this.
Your child is not purposely forgetting things you've told them or taught them.
When it comes to a struggling reader or writer or just or just dyslexics in general, neuro remediation means exposing a dyslexic up to 20 times the same concept you're trying to teach them. Like the same letter. You could need to do 20 exposures for it to stick in their mind. And that's okay.
Non-neurodivergent people might only need like four to 10 times, but four being the minimum. The research shows us that neuro-normative brains only need about four to seven exposures to learn something new. But a dyslexic brain or a neurodivergent brain is going to need amply more. So, be patient. Don't try to speed through learning and put too much pressure on the learning process cuz that will shut a dyslexic down.
