Unknown Powder & Fluid Refine WAS THERE GOLD?
Added:So, I just got these free liquids today from Eddie. Eddie is one that um brought the thief to me.
And he said he's tried to filter him, but it kept going through the filter.
So, I'm I've prepared a double filter.
We've got two filters in this one.
Let's see if we can get the solids with any solids in there.
He thinks there might be gold in there, so we're going to test the solution, test the any solids we get from it.
And uh we're filtering this first step.
Let's filter it.
So, this stuff must have settled.
And so, I've just poured off the liquid into the filter.
And what I do is I'm going to put this lot into nitric acid and get any any copper and zinc and any non-valuable metals out of there. Apart from silver, it takes silver as well, but I will test it for silver.
And we'll see if there's any solids left.
If there's some solids left, then we'll put it in aqua regia and see if there's any gold.
We'll let this filter first so we can put it all in together.
I'll put all this in one beaker.
I might even add some water first just to get out anything any chemicals that he's used.
So, I'll probably get a give it a rinse through the filter once this has gone down.
We'll do that next. We'll wait for the filter.
So, I've added about a liter of water, bottled water, and I'm going to wait for that to settle. I've just given it a good stir with a chopstick.
Throw these containers away now.
This one is filtering out.
Not totally clear, but definitely clearer than that.
And it's coming through all right, so that's good.
If I'd have put all the solids in with it, it would have just clogged up straight away.
So, once that's settled, I'll pour that liquid. That should be that should be uh down by the time that's settled.
I'll pour that into there, and then we'll get all the solids together.
And then uh put some nitric in it.
I'm going to test the the solution when it comes out of the filter with some uh sodium metabisulfite just to see if there is any gold in solution.
I wouldn't have thought so, but we'll we'll check.
And then uh we'll get the solids together and do that process.
So, as you can see, I got all the liquid out of there.
I'll put it into there.
I've got a crack in that beaker, and I've had that there for months, and it's still working fine.
Anyway, yeah, that's all in there.
That's pretty clear.
So, I'm going to put the rest of this mud in here just so I can get as much of that liquid out as possible.
We'll see if it'll pull it through.
Pulled the rest of it through, all right, so I can't see why not.
Do that next.
So, I'll put the rest in there.
That's filtering all right.
So, I'll wait till that's finished.
So, this is the solids, all dried out.
This is the liquid.
I'll put some sodium metabisulfite in here to see if there is any gold, but there's nothing. It's been left overnight.
Nothing in there.
So, we're going to We're going to refine this one now.
We're going to put this in nitric acid first.
And anything left over, we'll put it in aqua regia.
Do the next.
So, I'm going to put this in nitric acid next.
Got as much of the liquid out of it as I can without drying up.
So, yeah.
Going to dissolve in nitric.
So, this is them solids that come out of that liquid.
So, I put one lot of nitric acid and I got loads of color from it and it burned something off.
And then put a second lot in and there's nothing coming from it now.
So, I'm going to filter that and then put whatever's in the filter in aqua regia and then we'll go from there.
So, this has been in nitric for hours stewing away.
So, two lots.
And I've now filtered it.
And this is what we've got.
It's sponge.
Took some of the liquid out and you can see it's full of copper.
That green.
Probably some silver in there as well.
Maybe.
I don't know what was in there the liquid to start with, so.
I'll put some copper in there and see if any silver drops out.
So, this is what we've got left.
So, I'm going to put that into a large beaker.

So, I've got all that in the new beaker.
Just Just washed up the other one.
And I'm going to put this in aqua regia now.
But, I'm not going to put any heat on that.
And I'm going to leave it overnight.
There's quite a bit in there, so I'm going to put I'm going to put about 500 ml of hydrochloric acid.
And about 100 ml of nitric.
We'll see how that goes.
All right, that's all in there now.
There was some water in there as well.
So, I put it up to 1,000 ml.
No reaction.
I don't know if that's good or bad.
But, I'll come back in the morning and see see how it looks.
I might come back in a little while and see how it looks first.
But, no reaction at all. But, then there's no heat, so it might be different in 15 20 minutes.
So, this has been aqua regia all night.
I did put a bit of heat on it last night for about about 2 hours.
Then I turned it off. So, this has been sitting in aqua regia all night. So, I'm going to filter this now.
And then we'll drop it and see if there's any gold in there.
Well, that filtered off now.
This is what's left.
I'll put all of that into into there and wash it wash it through thoroughly.
And if there's any gold in there, I'll be in that liquid there.
So, this is all the waste.
It's all been filtered.
And now we've got the the aqua regia is in here all filtered.
So, now I'm going to put some urea in there because it's probably there's probably excess nitric in there.
I'll put some urea first and I'll drop that with sodium metabisulfite.
Do that next.
This is what's happened after putting urea.
A lot of excess nitric in there.
I didn't know what to put because there was a lot there was quite a bit of powder.
So, I've obviously put too much.
So, I'll just keep adding a bit more urea until it till it stops reacting.
Second spoon, it's not as impressive.
So, you wait.
I think that would have done it, though.
I'm going to add a little tiny bit more.
Give that a good stir first. Add a little bit more Is there any any reaction at all?
So, I'll put another half a spoon, and there's no reaction now.
So, that's had two knife spoons, two small spoon.
And that's now neutralized.
So, I'm going to give it a stir, and then get some sodium metabisulfite in there.
So, I've given it a stir, and that seems to have cleared all the the powder up.
It's all diluted.
No reaction at all.
So, now we can drop the gold, if there is any gold.
Okay, I'll put one spoon of sodium metabisulfite in there.
Now, we're going to add this. See if there's any reaction.
Quite dark.
No immediate reaction.
So, what I'll do is I'll just leave that.
Leave that a few hours and see See if there's any gold in there.
So, this is the outcome. There's no gold in there at all.
Nothing. Nothing has dropped to the bottom.
So, there just wasn't any gold in there.
That's the waste there.
Still in the powder form.
Okay. unfortunately, there was nothing there, just a waste of chemicals, waste of time.
So, that was the powder left over.
And the waste is in here.
So, yeah, that was a that was a fail.
Well, that's that little project finished. Zero gold.
